WWE NXT: Drama heats up as Maxine makes admission
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on WWE NXT: In front of a crowd that did not care one iota about the show, NXT rolls on and the drama on this show is ever-increasing. It comes in the form of Johnny Curtis, who delivers a shocking admission to NXT's power couple, Derrick Bateman and Maxine. Should be a good one!

And we are TAPED! from Liverpool. Josh Mathews and Matt Striker are our commentators and Striker is our host. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG,V).

Striker is in the ring with Titus O'Neil, Derrick Bateman, Percy Watson and Maxine. He barely gets out a nothing speech before Johnny Curtis interrupts. He makes fun of the idiots who turn into this show every single week (hey!). He says when he returned to the show last week, he was disappointed and disgusted with how bad it has become. He calls O'Neil and Watson rejects and Bateman and Maxine nothings.

Bateman says he thought they were boys and tells him Maxine is too good for him. He says he couldn't do as well as he did, just once. Maxine admits she and Curtis went out once.

Then Striker books a match that will see Bateman team with Curtis to face O'Neil and Watson in the main event.

Match #1 - Tyson Kidd (Calgary, Alberta) vs. Trent Barreta (Mount Sinai, NY)

No heat early. Crowd chanting "We want Regal" albeit lightly. The commentary is more entertaining early on than the match. Barreta escapes an arm lock and clotheslines Kidd over the top. He goes out and lights him up with chops, but Kidd catches a dropkick and slingshots Barreta into the ring post. Both men down.

We're back and Kidd has Barreta in a dragon sleeper. Kidd continues working on Barreta's neck. They hit the ropes and start trading back-and-forth. Kick to the back of the head connects for Barreta. He goes to the top and hits a huge flying crossbody for two. Barreta with a running knee out of the corner for two. Kidd, though, hits a brainbuster for two. They goes to the outside and Kidd charges Barreta, who catches him and lifts him into the barricade. Then Barreta goes up on the barricade and hits a flip onto Kidd.

Barreta gets Kidd back in the ring and hits a slingshot elbow but Kidd kicks out at two. Barreta loads Kidd up on the top rope and goes for a 'rana but Kidd catches him when they come down in the half-crab and drags him into the middle of the ring. Barreta taps.

Winner via submission: Tyson Kidd

Bateman and Maxine are arguing backstage. Curtis comes in and plays mind games with both of them. Maxine slaps him.

JTG and Tamina are chatting it up, JTG is flirting with him. The Usos come in and can't believe she's talking to JTG. This leads to a match.

Match #2 - Jimmy Uso (San Francisco, Calif.) vs. JTG (Brooklyn, NY)

Again, no heat for this match. Uso goes for a Samoan drop but JTG catches him coming down with a neckbreaker for two. JTG with a roll-up for two. He hits the ropes and comes in but Uso catches him with a Samoan drop. He goes to the top and hits the big splash and that is a wrap.

Match #3 - Titus O'Neil (Tampa, Fla.) & Percy Watson (Miami, Fla.) vs. Johnny Curtis (Westbrook, Maine) & Derrick Bateman (Cleveland, Ohio)

Bateman and Curtis isolate Watson, working on his arm and neck. Watson escapes and both men make tags. O'Neil comes in on fire to absolutely no heat whatsoever. Shoulder breaker connects. Bateman breaks up the pin and Watson kicks him. The referee takes care of him. O'Neil goes to hit Clash of the Titus on Curtis, but Bateman hits O'Neil in the back and Bateman and Curtis team up to hit a high/low on O'Neil and that does it.

Winners via pinfall: Johnny Curtis & Derrick Bateman
