WWE NXT: Show features challenge for first time in weeks
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on WWE NXT: Could it be? Is NXT getting back to its roots? For the first time in seemingly months, we actually get a Redemption Challenge and they actually mention voting. Don't worry, though, we aren't voting yet. But still, that's progress, right? In the main event, tag teams collide when Titus O'Neil and Percy Watson face Derrick Bateman and JTG. Should be a good one!

And we are TAPED! from Mexico City, Mexico. Jack Korpela and William Regal are our commentators and Matt Striker is our host. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG,V).

We send it to the ring with Striker. In the ring with him are Titus O'Neil, Derrick Bateman, Percy Watson and Maxine. Striker says it's time to get back to what NXT is all about: Redemption. It's a capture the flag challenge with flags hanging on the ring ropes. Both men have belts around them and will be connected in the back with a rope. This challenge is work 15 redemption points. Striker actually talks somewhat about a vote and the redemption points meaning something.

Here we go. O'Neil is just tooling him in the flag grabbing when Bateman undoes his belt and attacks O'Neil from behind. Striker disqualifies Bateman and O'Neil earns 15 points. Striker says that was only half of the challenge. In tonight's main event, Striker says, Bateman and a partner of his choosing will face O'Neil and Watson.

Downward elbow to the top of the head for Reks and he locks in a chinlock with a knee right in the small of the back. Tatsu rises to a vertical base and hits some punches and kicks to the body. He hits a glancing high kick that sends Reks into the corner but Reks catches him with a high boot coming in.

Tatsu tries again but Reks moves and Tatsu posts himself. Reks comes charging in and ends up posting himself. Tatsu recovers and goes to the top and hits the spinning heel kick and that's enough to get the fall.

Winner via pinfall: Yoshi Tatsu

Curt Hawkins tries to attack Tatsu after the match but Tatsu catches him coming in. He cowers until Reks picks Tatsu's ankle and they beat him down until the Usos make the save and deliver a double superkick to Reks.

Match #2 - Maxine (Tampa, Fla.) vs. Kaitlyn (Houston, Texas)

Maxine with some hard chops to Kaitlyn's chest early on -- three of them to be exact. Ouch! Kaitlyn grabs Maxine but Maxine drops behind her into a reverse guillotine choke. Nice. Kaitlyn gets to the ropes to break the hold. Maxine with a headlock that grounds Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn stands and tries to elbow out of it, but Maxine drags her back to the canvas by the hair. Back to the headlock and now she turns it into a sleeper. Kaitlyn backs her into the corner and hits a snapmare out.

Kaitlyn comes out of the corner with a spinning elbow and then a flying corner clothesline. Then Kaitlyn just throws Maxine out of the corner. Kaitlyn grabs Maxine and hits a Bubba Bomb and then drops back into a submission maneuver, a full nelson applied with the legs, and Maxine taps out with her foot.

Match #3 - Titus O'Neil (Tampa, Fla.) & Percy Watson (Miami, Fla.) vs. Derrick Bateman (Cleveland, Ohio) & JTG (Brooklyn, NY)

Bateman with a rear chinlock and Watson finds the strength to lift him up and drop him back to the canvas. Finally, Watson brings in O'Neil, who goes to work on JTG. O'Neil is on fire. He grabs JTG with a big power slam but Bateman breaks up the pin. Watson boots him but it's Watson who ends up being thrown to the floor by Bateman. In the chaos, JTG hits O'Neil and tags in Bateman, who goes to the top. He comes down but O'Neil sidesteps him, sending him face-first to the mat. Bateman gets up and is ripe for the picking for the Clash of the Titus and that is all she wrote.
