WWE NXT: Show becoming land of misfit toys
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on WWE NXT: With the show now debuting on Wednesdays on WWE.com, everything is changing. It's new wrestlers galore on the show and tonight's show features a bout between two Season 1 vets as Daniel Bryan battles Heath Slater and in the main event, Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks square off with the Usos. Should be a good one!

And we are TAPED! from Biloxi, Miss. Jack Korpela and William Regal are our commentators and Matt Striker and is our host. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG,V).

Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks are out to start the show. Hawkins says the whole company is a mess, so they are going to invade NXT. He says we aren't going to see the 40-year old dog barking rookie Titus O'Neil, nor the embarrassing Yoshi Tatsu. It's all about them tonight. Reks says he's proud of them walking out on Triple H on Monday night. He hates Triple H right now he says. He says Triple H dishes out opportunities to second generation superstars. They are interrupted by the Usos. I wish I could tell you which one was which. They say they are fighting for their family, etc. They challenge Hawkins and Reks to a match tonight. The Usos attack and send Hawkins and Reks packing.

Match #1 - Titus O'Neil (Tampa, Fla.) vs. Derrick Bateman (Cleveland, Ohio)

Bateman lights O'Neil up with a chop right off the bat and this gets him off to a great start in the match. Nice dropkick lands for Bateman for two. He goes and works a rear headlock. O'Neil works to a vertical base and elbows out but Bateman hits some clubbing blows to put O'Neil back down. O'Neil, though, hits a power move and gets going. Some clotheslines and then he lifts Bateman and drops him on his face.

He whips Bateman into the corner and catches him coming out with a big body slam for two. O'Neil goes to go to the top but Maxine steps on the steps and he reenters the ring and yells at her. Bateman chop blocks him and hits a bulldog and that's it.

Winner via pinfall: Derrick Bateman

Match #2 - Yoshi Tatsu (Tokyo, Japan) vs. JTG (Brooklyn, NY)

Darren Young makes fun of Tatsu outside as the match is starting, so Tatsu kicks him in the head and knocks him out.

In the ring, JTG takes complete control of the match. Facebuster lands for JTG out of the corner for two. Tatsu, though, fires up with some chops and drops JTG. Now he gets the kicks going and lands some knees in the corner and follows up with a big running kick to the chest that has JTG reeling. Now he goes to the top and hits the spinning heel kick off the top and that puts JTG down for good. Wow.

Winner via pinfall: Yoshi Tatsu

Match #3 - Daniel Bryan (Aberdeen, Wash.) vs. Heath Slater (Pineville, WV)

Bryan goes for a surfboard, but Slater fights it off and instead Bryan just snaps back and hurts Slater's knees. Slater, though, turns Bryan inside out with a clothesline and takes over from there. Slater sends Bryan to the outside. He goes to whip him into the dasher but Bryan reverses and sends Slater into it and then hits a flying knee off the apron right into Slater's grill.

He throws Slater back into the ring and goes to the top rope but Slater gets up and crotches him and takes back over briefly but Bryan hits a big dropkick in the corner for two. Slater goes for a punch and Bryan tries to counter into the LaBelle Lock but Slater throws Bryan off the ropes and hits him with a flapjack on the rebound. Bryan, though, counters with a dragon-screw leg whip and then locks in the Regal Stretch and Slater has to tap.

Winner via submission: Daniel Bryan

Match #4 - Curt Hawkins (Queens, NY) & Tyler Reks (Laguna, Calif.) vs. Jimmy & Jey Uso (San Francisco, Calif.)

The Usos now have pyro with their entrance now if you're keeping score at home. Usos in control early, hitting the Alley-Us on Hawkins but Reks breaks up the pinfall attempt. He gets pulled out of the ring and dispatches his Uso into the ring apron. In the ring, Hawkins gets hit with the super kick and Uso goes to the top but Reks hits him off. Hawkins now goes to the top and hits the Heatseeking Elbow and that's all she wrote.

Winners via pinfall: Curt Hawkins & Tyler Reks
