Super Smackdown: Orton left laying after title defense
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on WWE Super Smackdown: Randy Orton and Christian have been going back-and-forth over the World Heavyweight Championship for months now. Tonight, their feud reaches its conclusion inside the confines of a steel cage. The two put on another epic match before the winner is confronted by the new No. 1 contender, Mark Henry. Should be a good one!

And we are LIVE! from Wichita, Kan. Josh Mathews, Michael Cole and Booker T are our hosts. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG, V)

John Cena is out to start the show. He starts with some "comedy" that goes over pretty much everybody's head. He said let's talk about who's going to get hurt: Alberto Del Rio. He calls him out and says let's start Super Smackdown with a Super Beatdown. His music hits and out comes Ricardo Rodriguez.

Rodriguez tells Cena he has a message from the WWE Champion. He speaks both Spanish and English during this. He says Cena is going to have to wait until Night of Champions before he has the honor of being in the ring with Alberto Del Rio. He then says the name about 10 times before Cena yells at him to shut up. He might've gone on all night had he not. Cena says Rodriguez sounds like two cats trying to have sex and throw up at the same time. Then he tells Rodriguez he has a message for Del Rio and he wants him to make sure he gets it. And he punches him.

Wade Barrett comes out. He congratulates Cena for beating up the fat ring announcer. He says we're two minutes in and Cena's already hijacked the show. He says this is his territory, Smackdown. He says when he's finished with Cena tonight, he's going to make him feel as miserable as he did when Cena was his personal slave.

He tells him payback's a b----.

it's time for the contract signing for Night of Champions. Out comes the COO of WWE, Triple H. He says the Board of Directors was allowing him to take the suit off for one night to face CM Punk. He calls on Punk to come out.

Punk comes out and Triple H starts running him down, saying he pushed through Punk's new music, his new T-shirt. He tells Punk he's trying to be the bigger man, trying to be the COO, but he can only take so much. He says now Punk better deal with him like a man.

Punk says Triple H is a lot like Vince McMahon: He can't separate personal issues from business issues. He says if he hated WWE like Triple H claims, he'd just be sitting at home right now. He says he wants change. He wants to be the catalyst of change.

Triple H is angered by this. He says the people like WWE. Can it be better? Sure, and that's what he wants to do. But Triple H says Punk only wants change if it includes him being on top. He says they're very similar in how they got there, except Punk backdoored around to do it while he just told everyone he was going to step on them on the way there.

Punk says he's pushing Triple H's buttons to test him out, but Triple H failed. He says Triple H hires his old buddies to do his dirty work. Punk signs the contract and tells Triple H to make sure he doesn't fine or suspend him after he kicks his ass at Night of Champions.

Triple H says he's nothing like McMahon because if it was McMahon in the match, he would've taken a beating because it was good for business. But at Night of Champions, he says he is going to kick Punk's skinny fat ass.

When things appear to be over, Kevin Nash's music hits. He's charging to the ring as best he can and Punk wants some. Theodore Long bails and Triple H is left holding Punk back. Nash clears the table and Punk shoves Triple H aside and starts going in on Nash with kicks and punches. He has him in the corner when Triple H pulls him off and sends him flying. Punk charges them both and eats a big boot from Nash. Then Triple H shoves Nash and Nash sends Triple H flying with a return shove. Chaos! He stands over him looking very angry and walks off.

Sheamus locks him up in the ropes and hits some forearms to the chest and then a running knee lift. He comes off the top with a shoulder block and lines him up for the Brogue Kick when Jinder Mahal jumps in and attacks.

Winner via disqualification: Sheamus

Khali hits the Khali Chop and sends Sheamus to the outside where he starts to beat him down. He goes for another chop against the post but Sheamus slips it and hits the Brogue Kick. Then Mahal jumps in and goes to work on Sheamus. He throws him back into the ring and Sheamus explodes with a double ax-handle and loads him up and hits the Celtic Cross.

He's struggling, though, and Orton grabs his legs. Christian knocks him off and lines him up for the spear but Orton leapfrogs it and goes for the RKO, but Christian rebounds into the spear for two.

Now Christian lines him up for the punt but Orton avoids it. He goes for the sunset flip off the middle turnbuckle, but it's just a pump fake! Orton looks for the RKO but Christian is nowhere to be found as he starts climbing the cage. Orton grabs him and brings him down and hits a neckbreaker.
