Impact: Flair finally returns to show
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on Impact Wrestling: After months away, Ric Flair finally has returned from the Impact Zone and he wants Sting. Elsewhere on the show, the Bound For Glory series continues and in the main event, Beer Money defends their World Tag Team Championship against Mexican America.

Like usual, tonight's taped show emanates from the Impact Zone in Orlando, Fla. "The Professor" Mike Tenay and The Tazz are our hosts.

Sting is out to start the show and apparently has gone crazy. He has a bat and a chair, throws them away and then just starts taking bumps down the ramp and then in the ring.

He says that's proof he lost his mind, a reenactment of what happened to him last week. He starts talking about the beating Hulk Hogan gave him last week. He says he and the people have one thing in common: They both want to see Hogan back in the ring. He wants it bad and thinks it's appropriate to now start a Hogan chant because he wants him in the ring tonight.

Instead of getting Hogan, he gets none other than Ric Flair, who makes his return to the show after months away. He takes offense to Sting calling Hogan the greatest ever. But he switches gears and says people always ask when he's going to wrestle Sting again. He tells them he's got nothing to prove, but they always say "one more match." He puts Sting over and says for him to get where he wants to go again, he needs to wrestle Sting again. He says as much as he loves him, he's tired of hearing his name. He says if they wrestle and Flair wins, Sting retires, and not a phony one. If Sting wins (which is next to impossible, he tells us), he'll serve him Hogan on a silver platter.

Sting says he's going to ask the people. They respond favorably. He tells Flair he smells like garlic, but he accepts.

Match #1 - Bound For Glory Series - Scott Steiner (Detroit, Mich.) vs. Devon (New York City)

The two are going back-and-forth when Steiner out of nowhere gets a rollup with his feet on the ropes and the referee counts it.

Winner via pinfall: Scott Steiner

Samoa Joe attacks Devon from behind and locks him in a kneebar. Devon's sons in the front row look for The Pope to come from the back to help but hop the rail when that doesn't happen. Now Pope finally runs out when Joe stalks them.

Match #2 - X Division Guantlet Match - Alex Shelley, Tony Nese, Kid Kash, Robbie E, Zema Ion, Jesse Sorensen, Mark Haskins, Austin Aries

This starts with Shelley against Haskins. Shelley is all over Haskins to start but Haskins takes over with a cutter. Shelley with an inverted atomic drop off the top. They do a bunch of reversals and Haskins hits a move I've never seen before and pins him. The crowd does not like this one bit.

Robbie E argues with Cookie getting in the ring and Haskins rolls him up immediately. Wow.

Ion in now against Haskins. Ion hits a DDT and then a 450 for the pin.

Sorensen in now. Ion goes for the 450 but Sorensen gets his knees up and then pins him with a Crossrhodes.

Nese in now. He hits a corner knee for two. Sorensen elbows out of a fireman's carry. Nese misses a springboard moonsault and Sorensen hits his finish again for the fall.

Kid Kash in now.

Kash and Sorensen in still. Kash is going to work. He goes for the springboard moonsault and hits it for two. Kash goes for a double underhook power bomb but Sorensen reverses it and gets the fall.

So it's down to Sorensen and Aries. As Aries stalls getting into the ring, Kash hits Sorensen with the double underhook piledriver. Aries in and he goes for covers but Sorensen is tough. It's too much for him to overcome, though, as Aries hits a brainbuster and that's it.

Winner via pinfall: Austin Aries

Fallaway slam for ODB. She locks in a bear hug. Mickie escapes and hits a neckbreaker. Both women down and they kip up at the same time. Mickie gets the best of an exchange. She goes to the top and hits the Thesz Press. She lines her up and goes for the jumping DDT but ODB pushes off. She hits a big splash and goes for a Bronco Buster but Mickie moves and hits the jumping DDT and that's it.

He goes for the cover but only gets two. Styles goes for the Styles Clash but RVD backdrops his way out. Pele connects for Styles but Jerry Lynn pulls the referee out of the ring and the ref calls for the bell.

Ric Flair is backstage when weird things start happening. Flair is starting to go nutty when things start falling and Sting doesn't show up. Sting finally appears and is attacked by Gunner. Sting quickly turns it around on him and lays him out. Flair leaves and fires Gunner.

Crimson is in the ring. He calls out Kurt Angle. Here comes the champ. Crimson is upset about being targeted by Angle last week. He tells Angle his mission failed because he's standing in front of him right now. Angle talks about disrespect and Crimson says nobody has disrespected him, in fact they've put him on a pedestal. Angle puts Crimson down again, saying guys like him can't shine his gold medal. He says he sees nothing when he looks at Crimson and he ain't going nowhere. He goes to leave but Crimson holds him back and told him he already is somebody and challenges him for next week.

Match #5 - World Tag Team Championship - Mexican America vs. Beer Money Inc.

Mexican America works over Storm. Storm works his way out of a chinlock but is cut off by Hernandez before he can bring in Roode. But he hits a chinbreaker and tags Roode in. He's on fire and drops both Hernandez and Anarquia. Back elbow for Hernandez and then a neckbreaker from the middle rope but Anarquia breaks up the fall. Slingshot DDT hits for Beer Money and then a double team suplex on Hernandez. Then Rosita gets in the ring and spits the beer into Storm's face. He no sells it.

Karen Jarrett doesn't like this and comes to ringside from commentary. Then Jeff Jarrett follows. In the melee, Hernandez hits Roode with the AAA championship and Earl Hebner turns around and counts the fall.

Winners via pinfall and NEW World Tag Team Champions: Mexican America
