WWE NXT: Kidd, Tatsu meet for rubber match
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on WWE NXT: With Derrick Bateman back, things are in a bit of flux with three rookies remaining. Tonight, those three Bateman, Darren Young and Titus O'Neil meet in an elimination match. In the main event, Tyson Kidd and Yoshi Tatsu meet for the third straight week with the series tied at one. Should be a good one!

And we are "LIVE!" from Uncasville, Conn. Todd Grisham and William Regal are our commentators and Matt Striker and Maryse are our hosts. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG,V).

Derrick Bateman is out to start the show. Bateman talks about wanting to win the season and such when he is interrupted by Darren Young. He says he's done more in WWE than Bateman ever will. He also defends Titus O'Neil because O'Neil has been there with him for 19 weeks. O'Neil comes out and makes some bad jokes and then Maryse comes out and books them in a three-way elimination match.

Match #1 - Derrick Bateman (Cleveland, Ohio) vs. Darren Young (Miami, Fla.) vs. Titus O'Neil (Tampa, Fla.)

Bateman and Young team up on O'Neil in the early going. The crowd is so into this match that they start chanting "Daniel Bryan" for Bateman's pro who is on the outside of the ring. Bateman gets knocked around and Young looks to go to work on O'Neil. O'Neil, though, reverses an Irish whip, hits a back elbow and then the Clash of the Titus. He goes for the cover but Bateman dropkicks him and steals the pin.

Darren Young eliminated

So we're down to Bateman and O'Neil and O'Neil is in charge until Bateman sends him staggering with a back elbow and then takes out his legs with a dropkick to the knees. Bateman takes over from there. O'Neil takes over, though, and hits a fallaway slam for two. O'Neil throws Bateman in to the corner and hits a big splash. He follows that with a flying clothesline attempt but Bateman ducks it and hits his finish and that's it.

Winner via pinfall: Derrick Bateman

Hornswaggle is backstage getting drunk off root beer and staring longingly at a picture of Maryse. Then someone delivers a package to Hornswaggle and it's a heart-shaped deal with what appears to be green M&M's inside.

Then we move over elsewhere and Kozlov is on the phone and JTG interrupts him. He asks him if he's interested in a friendly wager. JTG says Kozlov doesn't have any swag. Then I'm just confused by what happened after. Kozlov walked off. Huh?

Match #2 - Yoshi Tatsu (Tokyo, Japan) vs. Tyson Kidd (Calgary, Alberta)

They battle on the outside and Tatsu lights Kidd up with kicks and hard chops before throwing him back in. Unfortunately for him, Kidd jumps him as he reenters and puts the boots to him in the corner. Kidd takes over and sends Tatsu to the outside and he's hurting.

Kidd still in control with a leg scissors in the middle of the ring. Kidd with a headlock but Tatsu hits a side suplex to escape the hold. Both men down now. They stir at the same time and Kidd hits a knee. He sends Tatsu off the ropes but misses a clothesline and Tatsu comes back with a spinning heel kick. Tatsu misses a Shining Wizard and Kidd kicks out his knee. He hits a spinning back kick of his own and a dropkick for two.

He looks for the Sharpshooter but gives it up and instead hits a leg drop. He sends Tatsu off the ropes but he reverses and ends up sending Kidd over the top and to the floor. Now Tatsu loads up and goes for a suicide dive but Kidd jumps on the apron and meets Tatsu coming through the ropes with a kick. He goes for the springboard elbow but Tatsu gets the knees up. Tatsu looks for the high kick but Kidd tugs him into the middle turnbuckle.

Kidd to the top but Tatsu crotches him. Tatsu with some chops and he goes for a superplex but Kidd sends him into the top rope. Kidd stands up, turns around and goes for a moonsault but Tatsu rolls out of the way. Then he hits a rollup with a bridge and gets the fall.

Winner via pinfall: Yoshi Tatsu
