WWE NXT: Finalists get big surprise
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on WWE NXT: We were supposed to be down to two after tonight's show but that only lasted about 60 seconds. After someone was sent home, WWE brought back another person from a previous season to go to the finals, confusing pretty much everybody. Should be a good one!

And we are "LIVE!" from Phoenix, Ariz. Todd Grisham and William Regal are our commentators and Matt Striker and Maryse are our hosts. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG,V).

Match #1 - Darren Young (Miami, Fla.) vs. Conor O'Brian (Grand Rapids, Mich.)

Young grabs the mic and says his pro, Chavo Guerrero, quit on him and says he's a better entertainer and man. He says he's done more in the last year than Guerrero has done in 15 years. He says there is only one Darren Young, your NXT winner.

O'Brian comes out and says when he's done with Young, the only talk will be how he made Young's NXT Redemption an utter destruction. Or something.

They spill to the floor immediately during a lock up and head right back in. O'Brian in control. They head to the apron and Young kicks O'Brian in the gut and gives him a neckbreaker on the ring apron.

We're back and Young hits O'Brian with a big clothesline. Young with a headlock, a back elbow and a knee drop. Another headlock for Young and the crowd boos. O'Brian finally works his way out and hits a flapjack. Big boot connects for O'Brian and then he hangs Young up on the top rope. O'Brian goes for an Irish whip but Young throws him into the second turnbuckle and then hits the Three Amigos. Now he goes to the top and hits the Frog Splash and that's it.

Winner via pinfall: Darren Young

Match #2 - Yoshi Tatsu (Tokyo, Japan) vs. Tyson Kidd (Calgary, Alberta)

Tatsu gets the best of things early until the action spill to the outside and Kidd sends Tatsu into the steps and then gives him a vicious dropkick into them. Wow.

Of all things, Kidd goes to work on Tatsu's left arm and hand. Tatsu works out of am armbar and takes Kidd down. Both men are down and they work to their feet and Tatsu lights Kidd up with chops and then kicks. Double knees in the corner followed by a spinning heel kick gets two for Tatsu. Tatsu to the top but Kidd cuts him off only to get pushed down. Tatsu rises but Kidd comes flying in and dropkicks the top turnbuckle to crotch Tatsu. Kidd now goes up and hits a rana off the top but Tatsu kicks out at two. Kidd goes for the Sharpshooter but Tatsu rolls him up for two.

Both men rise to their feet and Tatsu drills Kidd with the high kick and that's it.

Winner via pinfall: Yoshi Tatsu

Match #3 - Titus O'Neil (Tampa, Fla.) vs. JTG (Brooklyn, NY)

JTG in control with a headlock. He goes to the outside where JTG has a run-in with Hornswaggle. They exchange in some comedy when JTG comes back into the ring and runs right into the Clash of the Titus and that's it.

Winner via pinfall: Titus O'Neil

It's time for tonight's elimination. Going home is Conor O'Brian. That's a shame. He improved greatly. He thanks Vladimir Kozlov and walks off. Then Striker says anything can happen and says they aren't headed to the finals alone and out comes Derrick Bateman and Daniel Bryan. Bateman will be in the finals. What?
