Raw: Austin, Piper headline 'All Star' night
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling
Tonight on Monday Night Raw: It's an "All-Star" night as both brands collide. R-Truth continues his collision course with WWE Champion John Cena and guest GM "Stone Cold" Steve Austin runs amok throughout the show, even booking The Miz and Alex Riley into a special edition of "Piper's Pit." Should be a good one!
And we are LIVE! from Long Island, NY Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler are our hosts. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG, V)
The Miz is out to start tonight's show. He says he's going to expose Alex Riley more than a tweet from Anthony Weiner at Capitol Punishment. He says he wants everyone to watch closely as he calls out "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. He says whenever he looks up, he sees people from the Attitude Era trying to steal his spotlight and that ends right now. He says this show will not get started until Austin comes out and before he can even spit the sentence out, the glass shatters.
Austin is in rare form tonight, folks, that's about all I can say. He runs Miz down and then starts crediting Alex Riley and says Riley might be a bigger Superstar than Miz someday. Austin says Miz and Riley need counseling and so tonight, Miz and Riley will be here in the ring tonight with none other than "Rowdy" Roddy Piper in Piper's Pit.
Austin dismisses Miz and right as he hits the back, none other than Alberto Del Rio's music hits. Del Rio says the rumors have been running all day that Austin wanted to see him because he wanted to see true greatness up close. Austin says he doesn't have a crystal ball, but he smells an ass whooping in Del Rio's immediate destiny. He says there's been someone who wants to get his hands on Del Rio and that's Del Rio's opponent … right now!
Match #1 - Alberto Del Rio (San Luis, Mexico) vs. Kane (Hell, Fire & Brimstone)
Kane misses the flying clothesline and Del Rio looks for the cross-armbreaker but he can't extend Kane's arm right away. Finally, he gets it but Kane gets to the rope. Del Rio, though, doesn't break the hold and the referee calls for the bell.
Winner via disqualification: Kane
Del Rio keeps the hold on until the Big Show makes his return and runs to the ring. Show gets Del Rio down when Ricardo Rodriguez comes in and jumps on Show, allowing Del Rio to escape. Show continues pounding on Rodriguez until Kane try to pull him off. Show pushes Kane off and then Kane comes back and chokes him until he lets go.
Austin comes out and books Del Rio against Show this weekend at Capitol Punishment. Rodriguez is still down.
Match #2 - Cody Rhodes (Marietta, Ga.), Ted DiBiase (West Palm Beach, Fla.) & Wade Barrett (Manchester, England) vs. Ezekiel Jackson (Guyana, South America), Sin Cara (Mexico City, Mexico) & Daniel Bryan (Aberdeen, Wash.)
Hells isolate Bryan and Barrett knocks Cara off the apron but while he's doing that, Bryan recovers, knees Barrett and brings in Jackson. Series of body slams for Jackson. He loads Barrett up in the torture rack but Rhodes and DiBiase make the save only to be thrown out by Jackson. Then Jackson gorilla presses Bryan onto them. Big clothesline for Barrett and Jackson tags Cara for a springboard cross body and that gets the fall.
Winners via pinfall: Sin Cara, Daniel Bryan & Ezekiel Jackson
Hornswaggle is in the ring with the T-shirt gun when R-Truth comes out. He says nothing is going to stop him from getting what he wants Sunday and he makes threatening overtures to Hornswaggle. Hornswaggle shoots him with the T-shirt cannon which Truth no sells and then stalks him. Instead of beating him up, he grabs him and hugs him. He gets up, shakes his hand and then boots him right in the kisser. R-Truth is the best man alive.
As he's getting all mad, Austin comes up on the Tron and says Truth should pick on someone his own size and the camera pans to a returning John Morrison, who Truth has tonight.
Truth picks up the mic and says Morrison is gonna have to get some of this and then he stomps Hornswaggle.
Match #3 - Santino Marella (Calabria, Italy) vs. Sheamus (Dublin, Ireland)
Sheamus is all over Santino early on. A "We Want Ryder" chant breaks out. Sheamus goes to bash his headi not the buckle and Santino Hulks up. He goes for the hip toss but it's blocked and he eats a clothesline instead. Sheamus goes for Pale Justice but Santino slips out and hits the hip toss. Santino loads up the Cobra but Sheamus ducks and goes for the Brogue Kick but Santino ducks that and hits the Cobra. Sheamus, though, completely no sells it and mega-kicks out at two. He gets up, hits the Brogue Kick and then locks in a Texas Cloverleaf and Santino taps.
Winner via submission: Sheamus
Randy Orton is out. He calls out Christian and promises that he just wants to talk. Christian doesn't come out and Orton said he was lying and the first chance he gets, he's going to hurt him. He says to come out before he comes back there and finds him. Then, Christian pops up on the Tron. He asks Orton why he's always so angry. He says Orton's entire career has been handed to him on a silver platter while he's had to scratch and claw for everything he's earned.
He says since they do it this way on Smackdown, why doesn't he take a poll from the audience. Of course, they want him to, but he says he doesn't care what they think. Then Orton says it's too bad Edge isn't here to carry him out because he's been carrying him for 17 years, so what's one more day? Then Christian says he's going to come out. He walks from the interview spot and he comes out and walks to the ring, but he stops at the bottom of the ramp and walks back up. When Orton follows, security comes and keeps them separated.
Then then GM dings in. He says Orton suffered a concussion from the belt shot Friday and he will not compete tonight. He suggests Orton leaves the arena now and wait for Sunday's match. The GM says if Orton doesn't comply, he will strip him of the title. Orton is not happy, but he eventually walks off.
On the screen, Austin appears and tells Christian he's not getting off that easy, so Christian has a match next against Rey Mysterio.
Match #4 - Christian (Toronto, Ontario) vs. Rey Mysterio (San Diego, Calif.)
Christian working Mysterio over with a headlock. Mysterio works to a vertical base and clubs his way out, but Christian drops him into the middle turnbuckle and then chokes him with a knee to the head on the middle rope. He doesn't break the hold in time and the referee calls for the bell.
Winner via disqualification: Rey Mysterio
Well, they just continue things like the match never ended. Christian goes to hit a top rope maneuver but he gets crotched. Mysterio flips him and goes to the top but CM Punk comes out and Mysterio dives onto him. The Nexus comes out. Mysterio fights them off briefly, but Mason Ryan catches Mysterio as he tries the 619 on Christian and destroys him. He throws him back in the ring for Christian, who hits the Killswitch.
Austin is in the back talking on the phone when Vickie Guerrero and Dolph Ziggler interrupt. She requests a United States title match for Ziggler against Kofi Kingston on Sunday. Austin says OK, but on one condition: Ziggler drops Guerrero as his manager. After some goading from Austin, he agrees to drop Guerrero. Guerrero is crying when Austin starts laughing and says he was just kidding and he already made the match earlier today.
Morrison's music plays but he doesn't come out. It plays again and he's nowhere to be found.
Truth grabs the mic and tells Morrison he wants a fight so come on out. Then he says if Morrison won't come out, he'll come back there and bring the fight to him and he heads to the back and we go back to the announce desk.
We pick Truth back up in the back. He's looking for Morrison and then we see Morrison down on the ground being attended to. "Looks like Little Jimmy got the Johnny! Let's go check it out!" He tells Morrison that he got got by the future WWE Champion.
Truth appears to be walking away when instead, he comes back and runs a metal box into Morrison, who was laying next to a wall.
Match #5 - Dolph Ziggler (Hollywood, Fla.) & Jack Swagger (Perry, Okla.) vs. Evan Bourne (St. Louis, MO) & Kofi Kingston (Guana, West Africa)
Swagger goes for a Vader Bomb but Kingston gets his feet up and tags in Bourne. Head scissors takeover for Bourne followed by a high knee and a rollup for two. Swagger, though, puts in the ankle lock out of it but Bourne gets out. As Swagger's in the corner, Kingston hits him with Trouble in Paradise and Bourne follows with the Shooting Star Press and that does it.
Winners via pinfall: Evan Bourne & Kofi Kingston
It's time for Piper's Pit. The Miz comes out and interrupts Piper and runs him down, apparently trying to get his heat back from when Stone Cold took him to school earlier. He notes he's actually won the WWE Championship and won in the main event at WrestleMania and says his scenes from Real World were better than They Live.
Piper notes he lives in the real world and Sunday, Alex Riley is going to beat Miz down again. He brings Riley out. There's actually an "Alex Riley" chant. Riley notes that he asked himself why he should keep helping The Miz when he can beat him.
Miz asks Piper if he wants to make things interesting and asks for a bet that he'll bet Riley at Capitol Punishment. Then Riley chimes in and says he thinks Piper can beat Miz right now. Miz says he'll put $1,000 of his own money up right now for it. Wow, he's really getting frisky with that amount. He says he'll even wear his suit. Piper mutters that he's really tired of getting his butt kicked and then says make it $5,000. Then Austin comes on the screen and says it's official. A $5,000 Challenge with Riley as the special guest referee.
Match #6 - $5,000 Challenge - The Miz (Cleveland, Ohio) vs. Roddy Piper (Portland, Ore.)
Miz starts arguing with Riley so Piper sneaks in but quickly gets turned around. Miz argues again and Piper pokes him in the eye and locks in the sleeper but Miz backs him into the corner and starts beating him down. Riley counts to five and pulls Miz off. They start arguing again and Miz punches him and they exchange blows. While this is going on, Piper comes up and rolls Miz up and Riley fast counts Miz.
Winner via pinfall: "Rowdy" Roddy Piper

Kelly all over Rosa early. A bulldog leads to a pin attempt and a Bella breaks it up and it all breaks down from there. In the ring, Kelly hits Rosa with the K2 and it's all over.
Winners via pinfall: Kelly Kelly, Gail Kim, Eve Torres, Beth Phoenix, Natalya, Kaitlyn & AJ
Austin is backstage with Tough Enough winner Andy Leavine. He hands him a beer and they drink up. Then in from behind comes CM Punk. Austin offers him a beer and the following conversation ensues:
Austin: Want a beer?
Punk then threatens to breathalyze him and asks him if he can recite the alphabet backwards. Austin says he can whoop his ass backwards. Austin says Nexus is banned from ringside tonight during Punk's match with John Cena and now he's heading to the ring for an announcement.
Austin's out to ringside on the ATV. Austin is about to make his final words when the GM dings in. Austin says he's getting sick of the GM ruining the flow of his show. The GM says Austin did a fair job, but all good things must come to an end. The GM says he'll be back next week on Raw. Austin notes there's still time left and he's still the GM. He says next week will be another three-hour Raw and it's all about the power of the people. It's going to be a Viewer's Choice Raw.
The GM dings again. Then again and then Austin asks Cole if he's pushing the button and says if it dings one more time Cole's going to get it. It dings. Austin runs Cole off and then grabs the laptop, which is dinging uncontrollably. He pushes the podium over, gets a beer, goes to the aisleway, pours the beer over it and runs it over again and again with the ATV.
Match #8 - CM Punk (Chicago, Ill.) vs. John Cena (West Newbury, Mass.)
Punk with an abdominal stretch. Cena hip tosses his way out, but Punk pushes him away to the outside and then slingshots onto him. Now Punk goes to the top rope and lands a double ax-handle onto the floor. Back in the ring, Punk works a leg scissors. Cena works his way out and locks in the STF but Punk was right in the ropes. Cena's momentum doesn't last long, though, as Punk takes right back over.
Corner knee connects for Punk and he goes for the follow-up bulldog but Cena pushes him off. Both men down. Punk goes for a big punch but Cena ducks. He comes off the ropes for the big shoulderblock but Punk ducks it and Cena goes flying to the outside. Cena rolls back into the ring at eight and Punk immediately puts the boots to him.
Punk comes in for the springboard but Cena moves. Punk goes for a clothesline but Cena ducks it and this time hits the shoulder block. He sets Punk up for the Five-Knuckle Shuffle but then we hear R-Truth in the crowd talking about Little Jimmys. He walks up to a little kid and offers to trade him a sip of water for his hat. He takes a big drink of water and this distracts Cena. Truth takes the hat and in the ring, Punk hoists the distracted Cena up and hits the GTS. That's it.
Winner via pinfall: CM Punk
Truth gets in the ring after the match and wallops Cena with his bottle of water and then hits Paydirt. He goes and grabs the title and a mic and stands over Cena and tells him this Sunday, he's going to beat him for the title and that's the truth.
