Duncan McTavish suffers massive stroke

Matt Gilmour, who wrestled across Canada as Duncan McTavish, has been hospitalized in Barrie, Ontario, after suffering a major stroke on Saturday evening.

According to his son, the diagnosis is dire, and he is only expected to live a short while longer.

"We have just talked with the doctors and this time he will not be recovering," said Sean Gilmour in an email. "They are going to keep him comfortable, he is unconscious and the scans show major brain damage and in all likelihood he will be spending his last days with us.

"This is sad news but we must remember at a time like this that his wishes would not be to mourn over him but to celebrate his passing to a place were he will not be in pain or suffering any longer."

McTavish is 80 years old.
