WWE NXT: Another rookie sent packing
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on WWE NXT: It's almost like it's elimination season in WWE. Each week there's one on Tough Enough and now eliminations are in full swing on NXT Season 5. Tonight, another rookie goes home as "tag team turmoil" takes over the show. Should be a good one!

And we are "LIVE!" from Des Moines, Iowa. Todd Grisham is our commentator and Matt Striker and Maryse are our hosts. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG,V).

Striker and Maryse are in the ring with the rookies and Maryse welcomes out "The Voice of WWE" Michael Cole to ringside and he joins Todd Grisham on commentary.

Maryse says the upcoming challenge is a first tag team turmoil where the rookies team with their pros. Now, they are given a chance to speak their minds to the WWE Universe.

Conor O'Brian says he's not done sacrificing himself for the WWE Universe.

Lucky Cannon says if you're not a fan of him, you're deaf, dumb and blind.

Darren Young says he's sick of facing Titus O'Neil each week. Oh wait. That's me. He says he shouldn't even be on NXT. He says he's a Raw superstar and he main evented SummerSlam and should be facing John Cena. Everyone gets a good laugh out of this.

Byron Saxton says people should vote for him.

Titus O'Neil brings up the rear and says he has been bigger, badder and better than any of these chumps. He says he's dominated the competition and the only option is to make it a win.

Tag Team Turmoil

First up is Titus O'Neil & Hornswaggle against Tyson Kidd & Lucky Cannon.

Hornswaggle comes in with a headscissors takeover on Kidd and he brings O'Neil back in with a shoulderbreaker. On the outside, Hornswaggle brings Maryse a flower. Cannon takes exception to this and shoves him down, only to be grabbed by O'Neil. Kidd takes advantage of this distraction and hits a slingshot leg drop onto the apron before hitting the springboard elbow for the pin.

Yoshi Tatsu and Byron Saxton are in.

Kidd and Cannon isolate Saxton. Crowd chants for Yoshi. Saxton, of course, is going at it alone. Saxton gets going and goes to the second rope but comes down into a big boot and that's it. Cannon gets the pin.

Up next is Vladimir Kozlov and Conor O'Brian.

Kozlov is going to work on Cannon when JTG's music hits to do commentary.

Kozlov runs wild on Cannon and hits the big powerslam. The Iron Curtain connects and that's it.

Chavo Guerrero and Darren Young are out and we have our final.

Guerrero and Young are all over Kozlov. Neckbreaker connects for Young for two. Finally, Kozlov gets some momentum when he suplexes both Guerrero and Young as they attempt a double suplex. He gets the tag to O'Brian and he runs wild. Flapjack for Young but Guerrero breaks up the pin and hits part of the Three Amigos. O'Brian breaks it up. Kozlov comes charging but Guerrero pulls down the top rope and he goes flying. O'Brian sends Guerrero over the top but turns around and is picked up by Young but he gets out and hits a side suplex and that's it.

We're back and it's time for this week's elimination. The wheels turn and Byron Saxton is headed home.

Saxton gets the mic and says it clearly was a mistake. He says he will allow that mistake to be fixed right now. He says the day they sent him home is the day they sent home a living, breathing role model of a superstar. He says they will never forget this day for the rest of their lives, leading Cole to tell him to "go away."
