WWE Tough Enough: The Rock guest stars, 2 go home
MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling
Tonight on WWE Tough Enough: Time is running out. We have five contestants left and tonight, not one, but two are going home. This week's lesson is charisma and there's no better person to help the crew along with that than The Rock. He works with them in the ring and cuts a promo on them.
Christina arrives back from the hospital and her ankle is sprained. She says she hopes it doesn't affect her too much, but only time will tell. Trish Stratus is there to meet her. AJ apologizes to Christina for being too close to the turnbuckle and causing the injury. He is very remorseful and Christina tells him to not worry about it because it was an accident.
We head to the training center and all the guys are in the ring and Christina is icing her ankle. Steve Austin says this week they're talking about charisma. He says you either have it or you don't.
They show the guys working in the ring and Jeremiah is moving too fast. Austin says that's what green guys do. Bill DeMott praises the work of Andy and Luke, giving them a group hug for their effort.
The final five are in Hollywood with Psych star James Roday on a Starline bus. Roday says they're going to find out how much charisma they have because each of them is going to conduct a 10-minute tour on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
AJ does pretty decent. Luke tries to crack jokes at DeMott to the crowd but they get no sold. Christina does not do well. Andy is awkward. Finally, Jeremiah goes. DeMott likes Jeremiah's performance here and was the best one. Roday says he'll remember Jeremiah's tour the most.
We're back at the training center and Austin welcomes The Rock. He works a little bit with each of them to see what they've got. Christina is sad because she can't participate. Rock tells them all to be a little looser.
Now they move to the skills challenge where they have two minutes to cut a promo on DeMott in front of Austin and Rock.
Jeremiah goes first. He's actually pretty good. I got a kick out of it. Luke is up next. It's not bad by any means, but it's sort of cliche about big bad wolves and things like that. Christina is next. Not horrible, but not good, either. Rock said she really needed to bring it. Says she was a little timid, a little nervous.
Andy is next. He was kind of cheesy, in a way, while trying to be serious. Rock says he thought Andy would have a moment but he never got it. Another missed opportunity, Austin says. AJ is last. He actually cuts a promo on Bill instead of cutting one on a fake match. This was by far and away the best promo here. AJ really stepped it up, leaving DeMott to mutter, "What the f---? That was good." Austin says AJ hit a triple after striking out many times.
Now The Rock is cutting a promo on the contestants, stopping at AJ and telling him he liked his promo. AJ is your winner. It's time for Austin, DeMott and Stratus to head into the office to figure out the bottom three.
They're in the office. Stratus says she was done with AJ but his promo might've saved him. Austin says he's in trouble because he's been a nightmare in the ring. They move to Christina. No passion, no energy. DeMott calls her promo horrendous. "She has no business talking to people," he says. Luke passes with flying colors. They like Jeremiah for everything outside of his ring work, saying he is unsafe there. Finally, there's Andy. He calls himself "Silent Rage," they say. DeMott says Andy fell flat in the life lesson.
The adjourn and Austin is out to call out the bottom three. It's Christina, AJ and Andy. It's time for them to pack their bags and meet Austin in the middle of his ring.
Back at the house, Jeremiah and Luke are having a hilarious celebration together. Andy says he thinks it's bogus he and Christina are in the bottom three because he thinks they're the only two who can do anything in WWE.
Andy throws his suitcases down the stairs he's so angry.
It's time for the bottom three ceremony. Austin goes to Andy and Austin claims he isn't working hard. Andy says he's wrong because he's been busting his ass. Austin asks Andy about his family: Wife, kid and another on the way. Andy says he wants a better life for them. Austin says if that's the case, why is he in the bottom three? This is so awesome.
Austin moves over to Christina and drops down and looks at her ankle. Austin tells her she got a break because it was charisma week, but her promo was the worst. He wants to know how she missed that opportunity. Her response? "I don't know." Austin says he doesn't think she wants this bad enough.
Now he moves to AJ. He says the promo helped him one day, but he's looking at the whole thing. He asks if one good day can save his ass.
Andy tells Austin he has the wrong people in the bottom three. He says he's going to be a successful superstar and Christina is going to be a successful diva. "You got to be the biggest, dumbest sumbitch I've ever laid my eyes on," Austin tells him in response. Austin tells Andy he needs to wake up. No one else is going to pay his bills and cut his lawn.
Austin says he's got good news and bad news. He says he's cutting two of them today. The good news is one of them makes it out of the bottom three and into the final three.
Austin moves in front of Christina. He says he's not feeling any passion from her and takes her belt. She says it's a mistake. Austin says he doesn't make mistakes.
Austin asks Andy if he's shown him the best he's got. Andy says no. Austin what's him a few times and Andy screams it louder each time. Austin tells him to stop pussyfooting around and he better show him something tomorrow. He points at AJ and tells him he's going home, too.
Andy is very emotional. Austin tells Andy to not be meek and weak and to bust his ass.
AJ says he's sad to see it end like this. He says he feels like he still belongs and that's moments he'll treasure for the rest of his life.
Christina says this week was not good for her and she was not on. She says she's going to continue to work until she's the No. 1 diva.
