WWE NXT: Regal finally gets match with Novak
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on WWE NXT: After several weeks of being prodded and poked at, William Regal finally gets his hands on Jacob Novak here tonight. Elsewhere, Hornswaggle is missing in action. How will his sudden departure affect his rookie Titus O'Neil? We'll find out. Should be a good one!

And we are "LIVE!" from Nashville, Tenn. Todd Grisham and William Regal are our commentators and Matt Striker and Maryse are our hosts. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG,V).

Striker welcomes Maryse to the ring, who is making her return to NXT after being attacked by Kharma last week. She welcomes out the rookies. Striker says that we'll have our first elimination next week. Finally.

Tonight's challenge is the King of the Hill Challenge. They have to go around the announce table, up the ramp, grab a flag, come back and blow a horn in the ring. It's worth six redemption points. Here we go.

Everyone is going at once at Titus O'Neil runs away with it, getting six points, moving him to a dominating lead of 19.

O'Neil grabs the mic and notes Hornswaggle isn't on the stage. He says he's called him and doesn't know where he is. He asks Grisham and then Darren Young where he is. He says he's going to get the answers he's looking for from Young or he's going to beat them out of him.

Match #1 - Darren Young vs. Titus O'Neil

This match is becoming the NXT version of Chris Masters vs. Tyler Reks on Superstars. Wow. Do they just follow the same format week after week for this show?

O'Neil is charge and Young takes a walk up the ramp. O'Neil goes and grabs him and brings him back to the ring. He stalks Young in the corner and catches a boot attempt and clotheslines him to the canvas. Young takes over, though, and he locks in an armbar.

O'Neil, though, picks Young up on his shoulders and hits an electric chair. O'Neil goes to boot Young, but Young moves and O'Neil gets caught up in the second rope. Young rolls him up and gets the pin, handing O'Neil his first loss.

Winner via pinfall: Darren Young

Match #2 - Conor O'Brian vs. Byron Saxton

Saxton on fire in the early going but O'Brian takes over and starts working the lower leg of Saxton. Saxton fires up with a big jawbreaker and some shoves. Flatliner connects for two for Saxton. Saxton goes to the second rope and hits a big flying clothesline and that'll do it.

Winner via pinfall: Byron Saxton

Saxton grabs the mic and reminds his pro Yoshi Tatsu that he's doing this alone because Tatsu is too distracted with Maryse to be his pro.

Lucky Cannon runs into Maryse backstage. He says he was concerned about what happened to her last week. Maryse is surprised he could care about anyone but himself. Cannon says he has a peace offering for her and it's a replacement purse for the one that was lost a few weeks back. She likes this and says she's willing to put all their things in the past.

Novak in control. Boot to the gut and some clubbing blows to the back and he follows those with a clothesline. JTG again with a cheap shot and Novak locks in a chin lock. Regal fires up and drags Novak's face across the top rope. He drops Novak to the mat and goes for the exploder suplex but Novak elbows out. Novak throwing punches at Regal in the corner. Regal stumbles out and Novak goes for the big boot, but Regal catches it, drops him to the mat and locks in the Regal Stretch. Novak has to tap.
