WWE Tough Enough: 2 contestants sent packing
MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling
Tonight on WWE Tough Enough: After Ryan finally got the boot last week, the chase continues. This week, an injury severely hampers one of the competitors, leading to not one, but two eliminations. Elsewhere, Luke looks to regain his spot as the top dog after being in the bottom three last week.
Luke and Christina enter the house after being put on the brink last week. Ivelisse is not too happy about Christina staying. Christina says it's a passive aggressive environment with the two of them and she says she's just going to start calling her on her stuff.
We go to daily training and Bill DeMott says they're about to earn their money. Eric is struggling big time with the conditioning in the gym. DeMott says there's a big blood clot in the middle but he's going to the blood thinner. They are really putting them through the paces here, doing a ton different things both inside and out of the ring. DeMott says now they are going to start finding out who is here for the right reasons, as it's only getting tougher.
Steve Austin enters and says this week's topic is focus. They work on some things and Jeremiah starts spitting up blood.
Now they are told to go to the second rope and drop an elbow on the bag. Jeremiah asks if he can go to the top rope and this makes Austin and DeMott chuckle. Jeremiah says he's got some big balls. Nut up or shut up, he says.
They start dropping some elbows. Luke, AJ and Martin look good and then Eric goes and lands awkwardly, leading Austin to say, "the bag just s--- itself!" I laughed.
Ivelisse is struggling with the bag and then complains about how she has to work twice as hard now because Christina injured here. Booker T says she's using it as a crutch. Christina goes and does extremely well. All the trainers are complimenting her.
DeMott says that's a wrap and likes what he saw on this day. Then he notices there's only seven people there, not eight. Ivelisse is gone. They track her down and she says she feels like her leg is tearing each time she uses it. She doesn't quit.
We move over to the Rock City Ropes Course and here is John Morrison. Austin says there's no one better to demonstrate focus. They fail to mention he is a Tough Enough alum. So they start this rope course. They have to climb up a wall, walk a balance beam and then some steps before taking a zip line across. Ivelisse is scooting across a rope and struggling. Morrison goes up to help her but she falls. She continues and finishes the course, pushing through the pain, she says.
Eric struggles and gets caught up and Christina literally catches up and walks right over him. "We're trying to be supportive here, but let's pull the horse behind the barn and pull the trigger, man," said Luke about Eric.
Eric is still struggling. He's 31 minutes in. Now 50 minutes in. Austin calls it a total disaster for him. At 94 minutes, Austin sends up help for his own safety.
We're back at the training center and today's skills challenge is "Cop A Squat." They go to the top rope and squat 15 times and hold the pose until they no longer can. They are broken up into two groups of four. We've got Andy, Jeremiah, Martin and Ivelisse.
Andy is sent packing before the squats are even done and he's not happy. Martin is out for grabbing DeMott while trying to be positioned lower, so Ivelisse and Jeremiah advance.
AJ, Christina, Luke and Eric are the next group. AJ can barely get off the blocks and is eliminated. Eric jumps down during the squats. So we've got Ivelisse, Christina, Jeremiah and Luke. Now the trick is that Andy and Eric are going to run the ropes while the four stand on the top rope.
Christina and Ivelisse go and it's down to Luke and Jeremiah. Luke says only Jeremiah has shown the same level of toughness as he has.
Now they have to pick up a bag and slam it, hit the ropes, drop an elbow, slam it again and do a top rope elbow. Jeremiah struggles greatly here while Luke shows he's hungry, as Trish Stratus says, and he wins it.
The trainers head in to decide this week's bottom three.
The trainers are meeting. They first talk about Jeremiah. Booker says he refuses to lose and Austin says he continues to impress, has heart and is coachable. Booker says he's impressed more than anyone else but DeMott says how long do you let that go?
They all agree Luke was impressive. Booker says Eric has been a huge disappointment since day one. Austin says he's good for 5-8 seconds and then nothing. They talk about Christina and DeMott says the bottom three last week sparked her. They talk about AJ and DeMott says it looks like he's just happy to be here at this point and Stratus says, "Who?" because he hasn't made a mark.
Austin heads back out and summons Eric, AJ and Ivelisse to the bottom three.
Eric knows he hasn't done well recently but thinks he is improving. He and AJ talk and think Ivelisse is going to be the one to go.
It's time. Austin starts with AJ and says he'd want AJ to live next to him because he's a good guy. He'd keep his car clean, mow his grass and more. But he asks AJ to explain to him why he'd pay his hard earned money to see him. Austin says if this has been AJ's dream, why hasn't he noticed him?
He moves onto Eric. Eric says he's pushing himself to the limit everyday. Austin says he could have potential. He could be somebody, but he also could be nobody and the ball is in his court.
He moves over to Ivelisse. He says if it wasn't for her leg, she wouldn't be in the bottom three and he believes she belongs in the ring, but it's about what she can do now and he has to do what he's got to do. Austin says normally he only takes one belt, but tonight he's taking two.
Austin says AJ reminds him of grass growing. He could make it through the riff raff but now he's running out of rope. He tells Eric it takes someone special to make it in the ring. He asks Eric if he wants to go home. He says no, but Austin tells him he has to because he's taking his belt.
