WWE NXT: Regal returns to in-ring action
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on WWE NXT: Finally, after weeks of back-and-forth taunting and chatter, William Regal is going to get his hands on Jacob Novak. Or is he? Elsewhere, Chavo Guerrero battles his own rookie, Darren Young, with Hornswaggle as the guest referee. It doesn't get much better than this. Should be a good one!

And we are "LIVE!" from Orlando, Fla. Todd Grisham and William Regal are our commentators and Matt Striker is our host. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG,V).

Match #1 - Chavo Guerrero (El Paso, Texas) vs. Darren Young (Miami, Fla.)

Your special guest referee for this bout is Hornswaggle.

Hornswaggle pats Young down and makes him take his boot off. He takes it and throws it to Guerrero. Then Hornswaggle goes to ring the bell and steps on Young's exposed foot on his way by.

Guerrero in control early but Young takes over. He works a chinlock with a knee in the back but Guerrero gets up and hits a spinning heel kick before he clotheslines Young over the top rope. He follows that up with a slingshot crossbody.

We're back and Guerrero is working the arm but Young hits a big boot in the corner, a slam and then throws Guerrero through the ropes and to the floor. Young chokes Guerrero on the middle rope. He goes for a cover but Hornswaggle refuses to count. Young drops Guerrero on the top rope and then locks in a headlock. Guerrero stands and breaks the hold and hits a dropkick. Headscissors takeover for Guerrero.

Slingshot sexton lands for Guerrero for two. Guerrero looks to go for the Three Amigos, but as Young spins out, he hits Hornswaggle. Young with a Northern Lights Suplex but Hornswaggle won't count after being knocked down. Young scolds him so Horswaggle bites him in the rear. Now Guerrero hits the Three Amigos. He follows that up with the Frog Splash and that's it.

Winner via pinfall: Chavo Guerrero

Match #2 - Conor O'Brian (Grand Rapids, Mich.) vs. Lucky Cannon (New Port Richey, Fla.)

O'Brian with some European uppercuts and he sends Cannon to the outside. O'Brian tries to get back in the ring, but Tyson Kidd pulls his leg, allowing Cannon to take advantage and hit his finish and take the fall.

Winner via pinfall: Lucky Cannon

Byron Saxton and Yoshi Tatsu are talking backstage. Saxton flips his stack at Tatsu for worrying too much about Maryse when it is his last chance. Saxton says until Tatsu gets control of his personal life, he's doing this on his own.

Match #3 - Jacob Novak vs. William Regal (Blackpool, England)

Well, that was supposed to be the match, but in the pre-match promos, Regal calls JTG a muppet and JTG decided that he's going to face Regal instead of Novak.

Match #3 - JTG (Brooklyn, NY) vs. William Regal (Blackpool, England)

Regal getting the better of JTG early, so JTG takes a walk. Twice in fact. The referee is counting and gets to eight. Regal offers JTG his hand and JTG stupidly accepts it and Regal shoves drags JTG's hand to the mat and stomps on it. He drops JTG in the corner and runs knees into him.

Regal runs at JTG in the corner but eats a big boot and JTG goes to work. Regal comes back and JTG takes another walk. Regal goes after him but JTG slides back into the ring, so Regal goes around and socks Novak. Back in the ring, Regal hits an exploder suplex, drills Novak again and follows that with the knee trembler on JTG. That should do it, but before the referee can count three, Novak comes flying in and starts beating the tar out of Regal.

Winner via disqualification: William Regal
