Impact: Sting keeps defending
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on TNA Impact: Sting is proving to be a fighting champion. After defending against Matt Hardy last week, Sting puts his world title on the line tonight against both Mr. Anderson and Bully Ray in a triple threat match. Elsewhere, Gunner and Daniels have a very good match for Gunner's Television Title.

Like usual, tonight's taped show emanates from the Impact Zone in Orlando, Fla. "The Professor" Mike Tenay and The Tazz are our hosts.

Jeff Jarrett's music hits and there are a bunch of women in the ring. Karen Jarrett is with him and she has a big umbrella with her. This is great. They are looking to the ceiling.

Karen grabs the mic and addresses the women. She says she's going to nip the Kurt Angle mistress thing in the bud and the women in the ring are her suspects. There's Knockouts and randoms in the ring. She starts by scolding the catering lady. The catering lady gives it back to Karen and Karen dismisses her by telling her her Taco Tuesday sucks. All the others take offense to this. The crowd chants "Taco Tuesday."

Karen turns her attention to the seamstress. Karen makes a small penis joke. She runs down Miss Tessmacher, then Sarita and Rosita (calling them "rice and beans, the burrito sisters"). Then Karen looks to Madison Rayne and Tara but Rayne starts yelling at Tara. They leave and that leaves Velvet Sky in the ring. Karen starts running her down. Velvet goes to slap her but Jarrett blocks it. So Velvet slaps Jarrett instead. Velvet goes after Karen but Jarrett breaks it up. Then Angelina Love and Winter come down and Angelina starts beating up Velvet.

Winter then tells So Cal Val that she better ring the bell or else. She does. So I guess we have a match. Where's the Anonymous Raw GM when you need him?

Match #1 - Angelina Love vs. Velvet Sky

Angelina is all over Velvet and then Velvet starts to fire up except Angelina completely no-sells it all. After Angelina goes back to work, Velvet gets going and finally puts Angelina down, culminating in a bulldog. Then she turns her attention to Winter on the outside as the referee checks on Angelina. Winter rakes her eyes and snaps her neck on the rope. Angelina gets up and hits the Botox Injection. Winter makes a snapping motion and Angelina locks in a rear choke and Velvet goes out.

Winner via technical submission: Angelina Love

Match #2 - Anarquia vs. Chris Sabin (Detroit, Mich.)

Sabin gets out to a solid start, using his speed to befuddle Anarquia. Springboard forearm for Sabin but he came down strangely on his right knee. He makes a weak pin attempt but then Anarquia just rolls him up and it's over.

Winner via pinfall: Anarquia

Mexican America starts to beat down Sabin after the match, but Alex Shelley makes his return and makes the save for his partner.

Match #3 - TNA World Television Championship - (c) Gunner (Atlanta, Ga.) vs. Christopher Daniels (Los Angeles, Calif.)

Daniels working some chops to Gunner's back. Interesting tactic. He comes off the ropes but Gunner sticks out his knee and Daniels goes flying. Gunner really working over Daniels' midsection. Murphy working Daniels over in the corner. He goes and charges in but Daniels moves and hits a jumping stomp. Daniels with some punches and then a clothesline takedown. He props Gunner on the top rope and slams him down. He goes for Angel's Wings but Gunner runs him into the corner.

They exchange and Daniels hits a uranage. He goes for the BME but Gunner moves, but Daniels saw it in time and lands on his feet. Daniels comes charging and Gunner sidesteps him and puts him into the post. He follows that with a TKO and gets the pin.

Winner via pinfall and STILL TNA World Television Champion: Gunner

Sting is out. He calls out Mr. Anderson, who comes out with a mic and a baseball bat. Sting admits to bashing out the windows of Anderson's truck, so Anderson says he'll get them replaced. He says he's not falling for Sting's mind games but he will one-up him. Anderson suggests they have a match for the title tonight.

This brings out Rob Van Dam. RVD thanks Sting for the shot at the title and says he's OK with Sting doing whatever he has to do to shut Anderson up. Sting says let's make it official and do it tonight, but that's when Hulk Hogan's music hits. Hogan says if Sting wants a fight, he's going to get one. He says the match he just booked with Anderson is now a three-way with Bully Ray, brother.

Match #4 - Crimson (Brooklyn, NY) vs. Samoa Joe (Isle of Samoa)

The two slug it out to start and Joe gets the better of it. He comes off the rope but runs into a big boot. Crimson with an exploder suplex and he follows that with knees to the face and a swinging neckbreaker. Crimson charges Joe in the corner but Joe catches him with a modified uranage. Crimson rolls to the floor where Joe puts him into the barricade. Joe charges but Crimson elbows him.

Now Abyss comes down and hits Crimson. Joe and Abyss stare down and Joe just walks away.

Winner via disqualification: Crimson

OK, despite Abyss clearly attacking Crimson, this isn't a DQ according to Tenay. It's a NO CONTEST. What? I don't care. I'm stick with a DQ win for Crimson.

Anyway, Abyss beats the tar out of Crimson and leaves him laying.

Mickie James is out. She says when she got into the business, she wanted to go down as the greatest women's wrestler of all time. She says she wants to dedicate the championship to all the fans.

Match #5 - TNA World Heavyweight Championship - (c) Sting (Venice Beach, Calif.) vs. Mr. Anderson (Green Bay, Wisc.) vs. Bully Ray (New York City)

Sting immediately attacks Anderson as Ray lays back and waits for Sting to completely turn his back before attacking. Now Ray and Anderson slug it out before Sting comes in and starts attacking both. He sends Anderson to the outside but eats a big boot from Ray.

This is all out chaos. Swinging neckbreaker for Anderson on Ray for two. Sting hits Anderson with a clothesline and some punches. He follows with a Stinger Splash and then Ray avalanches Anderson. Sting reloads and comes in on Ray but he moves and Sting (sort of) gives the splash to the referee. As Sting looks, Ray clotheslines him. With the referee down, Ray grabs the pipe. He hits Sting in the midsection with it and said "that was for Hogan!"

He keeps wielding it when AJ Styles comes flying in. He lights him up and Sting picks up the pipe and cracks Ray with it. Brian Hebner comes in from the back and counts the pin.

Winner via pinfall and STILL TNA World Heavyweight Champion: Sting
