WWE NXT: Regal wants Novak, Tatsu wants Cannon
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on WWE NXT: The feud between William Regal and Jacob Novak is heating up, as is the saga between Maryse, Lucky Cannon and Yoshi Tatsu. Both of these continue tonight with Tatsu getting slammed by his own rookie for focusing too much on Maryse. Should be a good one!

And we are "LIVE!" from Greensboro, NC. Todd Grisham and William Regal are our commentators and Matt Striker and Maryse are our hosts. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG,V).

Maryse and Striker welcome out the rookies and pros. This competition is worth four redemption points and it's "How Well Do You Know Your Pro?"

The first question is "What is the one thing your rookie does better than any other rookie?" Saxton says Tatsu would say "speak better" but he has "just wrestle." Conor O'Brian is next. He says "punish them." Kozlov has written "fire up." Darren Young is up. He says he doesn't care what Chavo Guerrero said after what he did to him last week.

Jacob Novak thinks JTG says "I make this look good." JTG's board says "stay fly" and that's called correct. Lucky Cannon is next. He says this show is all about him. This guy needs to go away. Titus O'Neil is next. He says "connect with the WWE Universe." Hornswaggle's head is in his hands and he turns it over and it says "bark."

The next question is "If my rookie doesn't make it as a WWE superstar, I recommend he becomes a ____." This should be good.

Saxton says "news reporter" and Tatsu says "fire up." Haha. O'Brien says "fighter" and Kozlov reveals "firefighter." Nope. Young says he doesn't care and Guerrero says "trash man." Novak says there is no answer because he will be WWE's next breakout star. JTG revals "hip hop MC." Cannon is next. He instead asks Maryse how many times she threw up after kissing Tatsu. Kidd says "fashion designer." O'Neil says "dog catcher" and Hornswaggle reveals "bodyguard?"

Mercifully, this is over. Novak wins and gets the four redemption points.

Match #1 - Titus O'Neil vs. Darren Young

Boy, this match is becoming the NXT version of Chris Masters/Tyler Reks.

Huge uppercut lands for O'Neil and then he throws Young across the ring. O'Neil clotheslines Young off the apron and onto the floor, but as he goes to follow up, Young crotches O'Neil on the ring apron. That's interesting.

Young takes over briefly but O'Neil hits a sidewalk slam. Two European uppercuts for O'Neil but Young hits a snap mare and locks in a Figure Four as the crowd wooooos. Young is asking Guerrero to pull his hands for leverage but he doesn't and Young gives up the hold to chastise him. As he turns around, he walks right into the Sky High and that's it.

Winner via pinfall: Titus O'Neil

Match #2 - JTG & Jacob Novak vs. Vladimir Kozlov & Conor O'Brian

Before the match, Novak grabs the mic and again calls out Regal, noting his career is just starting and Regal's is over. Regal takes off his headset, grabs a mic and admits he's on the wrong side of 40, has lived a 1,000 lifetimes, but if he thinks he's going to let a pathetic Muppet like Novak dictate what he's going to do, he's mistaken. Regal says he can take his jacket off and they can have a match right now, but Novak's not going to like the outcome. Novak taunts Regal some more but says the match is not going to happen because when they do go at it, it's going to be on his terms — next week.

So, onto the match… JTG and Novak in control of O'Brian. They have him trapped in the corner and pull him out to hit a double suplex. Armbar for Novak. O'Brian trying to get to his feet but Novak drags him back down. O'Brian hits the ropes and hits a kick on Novak and then a DDT. He crawls over to Kozlov and makes the tag after kicking Novak away.

Kozlov in on Novak. Headbutts landing and then a big power slam but JTG breaks up the pin. Kozlov takes care of him and tags in O'Brian. Novak knocks Kozlov off the apron and then hits a big boot on OBrian and makes the cover and gets the fall.

Winners via pinfall: JTG & Jacob Novak

Maryse is backstage looking for Yoshi Tatsu. Maryse says the purse Tatsu bought her has been destroyed. Maryse says she's sure Cannon did it. Then she says something about her shoes and goes running. Tatsu asks Saxton if he's seen Cannon. Tatsu says Cannon's gone too far. Saxton says he wishes Tatsu spent half as much time being his pro as he does chasing Maryse. On snap.

Match #3 - Byron Saxton vs. Lucky Cannon

Cannon with a headlock. Saxton can't break it. Until he gets up, ducks a clothesline and lands a jawbreaker. Clotheslines for Saxton and then he comes off the second rope with one. Saxton goes for a cover off another move but Kidd puts Cannon's foot on the rope. Then Tatsu comes running in and kicks Kidd. Cannon then attacks Tatsu and goes over to Maryse. Tatsu follows Cannon into the ring and starts attacking Cannon. The referee calls for the bell.

Winner via disqualification: Lucky Cannon

Saxton pulls Tatsu off Cannon and, in a moment of frustration, hits his finish on his own pro. Then Cannon comes over and hits his move on Saxton.
