WWE Tough Enough: End of the line for Rima?
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling
Tonight on WWE Tough Enough: After being in the bottom three for two straight weeks, can Miss USA Rima last another week after going into a personal training session with Bill DeMott? Also, Luke starts to cop a bit of an attitude when someone else approaches him as the "top dog" on the show and Bret Hart shows up to talk to the crew.
We see Rima and Ryan return to the house. She runs into the house and says she can't believe she made it. Then Ryan comes back and everyone is shocked. Ryan says he doesn't want to leave Stone Cold Steve Austin disappointed after twice being close to the chopping block.
It's near midnight and Rima is going to train with Bill DeMott. DeMott says he's under the impression Rima thinks asking for help is more important than getting help. DeMott says he's trying to bring Rima up to speed by starting from the beginning. DeMott says this training session was the first time in three weeks that Rima realized this wasn't what she signed up for. DeMott tells Rima he knows she's hurt and can see it.
Rima is being interviewed outside the house and can barely speak as she's crying. She doesn't want to quit, she says.
We're at the training center and Austin brings everyone in the ring. He says he's got a special guest here, one of his favorite opponents, it's none other than Bret Hart.
Luke says this is a dream come true to meet Hart. Hart is giving them a speech about the business. He says they need to learn about agility and protecting themselves. He says how they need to give everything they have to make it to the top.
Hart leaves and Austin says this week's topic is agility. DeMott leads them in "in and out." They go to the corner and jump in and out of the ring, five times in each corner. Andy admits his agility sucks. Martin impresses and notes a lot of people don't have the conditioning for this drill. Out of the women, Christina is doing the best. Luke also impresses. He notes he came in prepared.
Austin says he's impressed with Jeremiah and he's been impressing a lot of people with his athletic ability. Jeremiah says it was fun for him because it was bouncing around and he's good at that.
Coming out of this, Luke and Jeremiah have impressed everyone the most. Luke notes even Ray Charles could've seen that one coming.
At the house, they got a call from DeMott and it's time for the life lesson. They have negative 10 minutes to get dressed for this, he says. They go to a local eatery where they will be serving food on roller-skates. They will get a crash course in agility. They get their uniforms and go on the practice course. Eric says he's never skated before in his life. There are some serious struggles going on on the practice course.
Well, they are welcomed into the restaurant and Eric is going at one foot a minute practically with a big drink. DeMott says, "Haven't you seen these kids walk?" Andy says it was horrible. Rima says it was real fun. They have to do a dance around the restaurant and Eric falls. Jeremiah jokes they need to get those skates off Eric because they almost had a KIA. DeMott is laughing uproariously.
They are dismissed and are given food and drinks on the house. Rima ends up on the bar dancing. Jeremiah takes his shirt off and says "we turned the diner into a late night strip club. We see everyone having fun and Andy is in a corner stewing with a water because he told himself he wasn't going to drink.
We get an interview with a "toasty" Christina. This was great. She said nothing of importance, but it was funny.
It's time for the skills challenge. Two contestants will meet and do a chain of moves. If they screw up, they're sent out. DeMott says it's physical day-in and day-out and this is where they start to see separation.
Everything is going well until Rima messes up her leap frog. She's really, really struggling and is given the boot. Eric tries to leap frog Andy and ends up getting headbutted.
We're down to Andy, Martin and Luke. They all impress the coaches. Andy is given the boot. Austin tells him they have to nit pick at this point. We're down to Martin and Luke now.
Here go Luke and Martin and DeMott tells them it's shirts off. They go at it and are told to stop. Martin is declared the winner. DeMott tells Luke that he's basically looking out for himself. Luke says in his interview that anybody with half a brain knows he won that. Regardless, that's two in a row for Martin.
The judges head into deliberation to determine the bottom three. Trish puts over Martin and Austin says he's really gaining momentum. DeMott brings up Andy, as well. Austin says he has a big problem with Ryan. DeMott says he doesn't know how he's still here. Austin says he hasn't been impressed with the girls.
Austin brings up Rima and notes how both she and Jeremiah were green as grass but Jeremiah is impressing and she's not. DeMott says it's just not there. Austin asks them what their bottom three would be. DeMott says it would be easier to give him his top five.
The deliberations are done and Rima is told to come forward. Austin says normally at this time, he'd select two other people, but he's not going to do that this time. Rima hangs her head. He tells Rima he doesn't think she's ready for this physically. Rima says it isn't fair. She says she needs to get it.
Austin says there was no point in stringing it along, considering it was her third week in the bottom three. Trish goes to the house and gives Rima a pep talk but she has to go back to the gym and give Austin her belt. Austin says he's glad she came and thinks she could have a future in the business.
Rima says she will keep pushing her dream. Austin says he wishes her well.
