WWE NXT: Show revolves around Maryse
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on WWE NXT: Last week, Ted DiBiase gave NXT host Maryse an ultimatum: It's either NXT or me. Tonight, she makes her decision. Then, in the main event, the two men vying for her affection, Yoshi Tatsu and Lucky Cannon, go head-to-head. Should be a good one!

And we are "LIVE!" from Albany, NY. Todd Grisham and William Regal are our commentators and Matt Striker and Maryse are our hosts. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG,V).

Striker welcomes Maryse out to the stage and asks her what her decision is. She says no one tells her what to do. She's had many millionaires before DiBiase and she'll have many after. She chooses NXT over DiBiase.

Striker welcomes out the NXT rookies. It's time for the Power of the Punch Challenge, an NXT staple. This should be good.

Saxton goes with the open-palm strike and logs in at 649. He gets booed. Maryse tells Jacob Novak to be a man after Saxton and he punches at 456. He just gets laughed at. Darren Young gets a 469. Maryse says she could hit it harder but she doesn't want to break her nails. Conor O'Brian comes in at 770. A new leader! Titus O'Neil lays into it and gets 801. Last, and certainly least, is Lucky Cannon. He says he's above this. He's not a clown. He's here to win a championship. Well, not like this. He's disqualified

So that means O'Neil is your winner. Striker goes to interview him when Cannon steals the mic to hit on Maryse. He's interrupted to Yoshi Tatsu. Cannon challenges Tatsu to a match in the main event. He accepts. Cannon tells Maryse she should be ringside for the match.

Match #1 - Titus O'Neil vs. Darren Young

Young has a mic and addressed Hornswaggle. He says all Hornswaggle is is a bootleg leprechaun.

O'Neil running wild early. He hits the ropes and hits Young with a flying clothesline. Young, though, takes over. He makes the mistake of going after Hornswaggle, though, and the distraction is enough for O'Neil to come over and roll Young up and get the fall.

Winner via pinfall: Titus O'Neil

After the match, Young attacks O'Neil and then sets his sights on Hornswaggle. He grabs him but Chavo Guerrero tries to play peacemaker and Young finally lets him go.

JTG is out. He welcomes out his rookie, Jacob Novak. Regal: "It's like the chapel of wrestling. Complete silence." The new look Novak is out. Wearing JTG sunglasses, a Yankees hat and a white shirt. Novak gets the mic. He criticizes JTG for it being five weeks and not having a single redemption point. He turns his attention to Regal, who has been saying on commentary he could make Novak a star. He says Regal has been doing a lot of talking and that he'll show Regal how to be a star whenever he's ready. Regal says the last thing Novak wants is him jumping in the ring and making him a bloody vegetable.

Match #2 - Jacob Novak vs. Byron Saxton

Novak goes to the outside. Saxton follows but Novak grabs his leg out from under him, sending him back-first onto the ring apron. Novak takes over. Body scissors for Novak, but Saxton escapes. He hits a facebuster, a kick and then a bulldog for two.

Novak, though, targets the injured ribs of Saxton with kicks, putting him down with a big boot to the face and gets the pin.

Winner via pinfall: Jacob Novak

Match #3 - Lucky Cannon vs. Yoshi Tatsu

Cannon in control early. Reverse triangle choke for him. Cannon sends Tatsu to the outside and talks to Maryse at the broadcast table. He loads Tatsu up on his shoulder but Tatsu slides out and sends Cannon into the post.

Back in the ring, Tatsu lights him up with chops. Now he's going in on him with kicks. Kick to the head connects and Tatsu goes to the top and hits the spinning heel kick and that's it.

Winner via pinfall: Yoshi Tatsu

Maryse gets in the ring and trash talks Cannon before practically making out with Tatsu. Tatsu, his eyes wide open, doesn't move and then it sets in and he starts jumping up and down like a kid on Christmas.
