Superstars: Bryan, Kim impress against Kidd, Melina
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on WWE Superstars: Once again, the Raw brand delivers a solid main event for the show. While Smackdown's only match each week seems to continually be Chris Masters against Tyler Reks, the Raw side brings us a tremendous main event tonight as Daniel Bryan teams with Gail Kim to face Tyson Kidd and Melina. Should be a good one!

This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG, V)

Let's kick tonight's show off with the Smackdown brand.

Match #1 - Tyler Reks (Laguna, Calif.) vs. Chris Masters (Los Angeles, Calif.)

I feel like I've watched this match for the last year straight on this show. Are they the only two Smackdown wrestlers allowed to compete on this show?

Masters dumps Reks over the top and Reks is not a happy camper about this. He comes back in and immediately eats a flying shoulderblock. Masters goes for the Masterlock but Reks dumps him into the ropes and chop blocks him. Reks puts Masters against the ropes and charges but gets back dropped over the top for his troubles.

We're back and Reks is in control and he's working the injured left ankle of Masters, which of course was injured by Jack Swagger and Michael Cole on Smackdown last week. Masters, though, gets going with a Samoan drop and both men are down. Both rise to their feet and Reks runs into a big boot. Masters to the second rope and he hits a shoulder block. Spinebuster now for two for Masters.

Irish whip attempt goes awry for Masters as his ankle gives out. Reks hits a flatliner for two. Reks grabs Masters leg and goes for a clothesline but Masters ducks, locks in the Masterlock and that's it. Nice counter for the finish.

Winner via submission: Chris Masters

Match #2 - The Great Khali (India) & Yoshi Tatsu (Tokyo, Japan) vs. Jimmy & Jey Uso (San Francisco, Calif.)

As you could imagine, the Usos isolate Tatsu. What? You're surprised Khali isn't the one getting beat on? Jimmy works a chinlock on Tatsu. Jey in and he delivers a brutal kick to Tatsu's gut. He goes for a jumping legdrop but Tatsu moves. Jimmy in and he eats a spinning heel kick and Tatsu brings in Khali.

Jimmy eats the big chop. Tatsu delivers a high kick to Jey and Jimmy gets the Punjabi Plunge. Good night.

Winners via pinfall: The Great Khali & Yoshi Tatsu

Match #3 - Daniel Bryan (Aberdeen, Wash.) & Gail Kim (Toronto, Ontario) vs. Tyson Kidd (Calgary, Alberta) & Melina (Los Angeles, Calif.)

Bryan going to work on Kidd with kicks against the ropes. He goes for another but Kidd hangs on to the ropes and tags in Melina. Kim in and she lights Melina up with kicks. Then she wraps Melina's leg around her head. Melina rolls and kicks out of it. Kim goes for a crossbody off the second rope but Melina bridges down and Kim goes flying over the top. Melina goes for the Last Call but Kim counters into a rollup for two.

Now Melina and Kim are trading submissions and then they both pull each other face-first to the mat, kind of like a double clothesline. Both females make tags and Bryan and Kidd are in. Clothesline for Bryan for two and then he drills Kidd with a high kick. Bryan to the top but Melina crotches him. Kidd leaps up but Bryan pushes him down and both he and Kim hit missile dropkicks. Bryan locks Kidd in the LaBelle Lock and that's it. Fun match! With Bryan and Kidd involved, this is a shocking development to hear, I'm sure.

Winners via submission: Daniel Bryan & Gail Kim
