WWE NXT: O'Neil looks for keg-carry redemption
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on WWE NXT: After failing miserably in the Keg Carry Challenge during Season 2 of NXT, Titus O'Neil is back looking for, you guessed it, redemption. Since this season is all about redemption, O'Neil gets his chance to make good with the St. Patrick's Day Keg Carry Challenge. Oh the drama! Should be a good one!

And we are "LIVE!" from Kansas City, Missouri. Todd Grisham and William Regal are our commentators and Matt Striker and Maryse are our hosts. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG,V).

Striker and Maryse welcome out the rookies and pros. Maryse says the winner of this season will advance to Season 6 and will get to choose their pro. Striker says it's now time for the Talk the Talk Challenge where they'll get to talk about themselves.

We start with Jacob Novak. He actually raps. This was something. Darren Young is up next. He says basically nothing, just pandering to the WWE Universe. Conor O'Brian says he's living his dream. He says he knows everyone in Kansas City can live theirs, too. Byron Saxton says he has a two-year old hamster and then looks to Lucky Cannon and says at least he didn't get his wardrobe from the Lady Gaga School of Excellence. Lucky Cannon steals Charlie Sheen lines, saying he has adonis DNA. He's generally annoying as usual. Titus O'Neil is next. He talks about a conversation he and Hornswaggle had. This was pretty good. WWE Universe is going to decide the winner. I'm going with either Saxton or O'Neil here.

The crowd selects O'Neil as the winner. He earns two redemption points.

Match #1 - Conor O'Brian vs. Darren Young

O'Brian in complete control here. Young with a European uppercut but O'Brian cuts him off by hitting the injured arm, but Young picks him up on his shoulders and then drops him gut-first on his knees as he falls back to pick up the win.

Winner via pinfall: Darren Young

Match #2 - Tyson Kidd & Lucky Cannon vs. Yoshi Tatsu & Byron Saxton

Tatsu wearing a black armband for Japan, his home country.

Kidd takes a cheap shot at Saxton on the apron after Tatsu was getting best of him and then brings in Cannon. Cannon goes to work on Tatsu with a leg scissors. Knees to the back connect. He slaps him in the back of the head a few times and then pulls him hair first to the mat. Back to the leg scissors and he uses the ropes for extra leverage as Kidd takes the ref.

Tatsu back to his feet. Irish whip for Cannon but Tatsu comes and comes back and they hit a double clothesline. Both men down and they each make the tag. Saxton in on Kidd and he's on fire. Kidd, though, hangs onto the ropes and hits a kick. Then Cannon blind tags his way in and hits Saxton with his finish. That's it. Kidd is not happy about this.

Winners via pinfall: Tyson Kidd & Lucky Cannon

It's time for our second challenge, the St. Patrick's Day Keg Carry Challenge. The winner earns two redemption points. We actually get a video package of O'Neil's performance in this event from Season 2 where he took about two steps and fell. This gets circus music and all. O'Neil takes it in stride.

Novak is up first and he makes his lap around the ring in 9.9 seconds. Young is next and finishes at 9.8 seconds to take the lead. O'Brian is next and despite looking slow finishes at 9.4 seconds. Saxton finishes at 9.5 seconds. Instead of taking the keg, Cannon takes the mic and recites a poem, presumably in French, to Maryse. She wants to know if she can go throw up. He touches her hair and she slaps him. Maryse is the greatest babyface is the world to me right now for slapping him. She broke a nail doing it, too! Now it's time for O'Neil. The world is watching! He picks it up and wins it at 9.1 seconds! What a story!
