WWE NXT: Will Clay or Curtis be crowned next breakout star?
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on WWE NXT: It's time for the season finale for Season 4 of NXT. It's only fitting that the season's two biggest rivals, Brodus Clay and Johnny Curtis are the two finalists. Tonight, the two do battle on the mic and in the ring to determine who is going to be the WWE newest next breakout star. Should be a good one!

And we are "LIVE!" from Cleveland, Ohio. Todd Grisham and Josh Mathews are our commentators and Matt Striker is our host. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG,V).

Striker welcomes out the remaining NXT pros. R-Truth brings out his rookie, Johnny Curtis and then Ricardo Rodriguez brings out "his" rookie, Brodus Clay. Clay looks fired up to say the least. Members of the crowd are not happy that Derrick Bateman was eliminated last week and chants "We want Bateman" without stopping.

Each rookie is getting time on the mic. Curtis details their rivalry. He tells Clay he's been fighting his entire life and tonight he's going to fight him and knock his teeth down his throat.

Clay gives Curtis props and said all the other rookies looked away when he looked at them but Curtis was different, he looked right back at him. Clay says in another walk of life, the two of them would probably be friends, but in this one, Curtis is standing in the way of Clay's dream. Clay says his teeth won't be smashed down his throat and just like LeBron James, he is going to walk out of Cleveland a winner.

Match #1 - Brodus Clay vs. Johnny Curtis

Clay in control with a nerve hold. Curtis gets up but Clay grounds him and applies the nerve hold again but Curtis breaks it with a jawbreaker. That doesn't last long as Clay takes it to him in to the corner. He goes for a splash but Curtis moves and hits him low with a dropkick to the knee. Curtis goes to the top but Clay crotches him and then throws him across the ring. Then he comes off the ropes with a big splash and it's good night Irene.

Winner via pinfall: Brodus Clay

Bateman and Daniel Bryan are backstage talking. Bateman says he's dealt with disappointment his whole life and goes over various Cleveland sports failures, ending in "The Elimination." Bryan reminds him of what he told him last week, that he'd punch him if he got eliminated. Bateman says he can't be serious but just in case, he puts a pair of glasses on. Bryan socks him in the jaw. Bryan reminds him about the NXT rookie reunion tag match and then fires up him for the match.

Match #2 - Derrick Bateman & Conor O'Brien vs. Jacob Novak & Byron Saxton

Novak and Saxton isolate and go to work on O'Brien. O'Brien finally shakes Saxton and brings in Bateman to a nice ovation. He's running wild. Back suplex gets two. Saxton, though, lands a nice jawbreaker and goes to tag Novak, but he just hops off the apron and walks off. RUnning corner dropkick for Bateman on Saxton and he follows that up with a headlock driver and gets the pin.

Winners via pinfall: Derrick Bateman & Conor O'Brien

Grisham and Mathews announce NXT Season 5 for next Tuesday. They say it's going to be "like nothing you've ever seen before."

Clay and Curtis are in the ring. It's time to find out who joins Wade Barrett, Kaval and Kaitlyn as NXT season champions. The winner will receive a WWE Tag Team Championship match with their pro as their partner at a future date.

Your winner of WWE NXT Season 4 is Johnny Curtis

Both men are emotional. Curtis runs around and drops to his knees, nearly in tears. Clay puts his hands on the ropes in the corner with his head down.

Curtis has the mic and he wants to address Clay first. He offers his hand and the two shake and embrace. Nice moment from two heated rivals throughout the season. Curtis talks about his dad who worked 18 hour days to support he and his sister. He also thanks the WWE Universe and R-Truth.

Striker then goes over to Clay. Clay says the WWE Universe took away his moment. He says he did everything he had to do. He says he gets it. He doesn't look like Clay, he doesn't look like any of them. He says he's going to make everybody feel like he feels right now. He says what they love, he will take. He will not stop. He says the WWE Universe broke his heart and he will not stop until he breaks theirs. And you do know that.

Curtis and Truth engage the crowd in a rousing edition of "What's up?" and another season of NXT fades into the sunset ...
