WWE NXT: Best challenge ever!
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on WWE NXT: We're down to four rookies and have an elimination looming. All four rookies are in action on this week's show, which is headlined by a tag team bout between R-Truth and Johnny Curtis against Daniel Bryan and Derrick Bateman. Also on the show is the best "Talk the Talk Challenge" the show has ever seen. Should be a good one!

And we are "LIVE!" from Long Island, NY. Todd Grisham and Josh Mathews are our commentators and Matt Striker is our host. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG,V).

Striker welcomes out the NXT rookies and their NXT pros. Brodus Clay is escorted by Alberto Del Rio's personal ring announcer Ricardo Rodriguez. Striker questions where Del Rio is and Rodriguez, IN ENGLISH, says Del Rio has too much to do, so he is here with Clay tonight.

Striker says tonight we'll have an arm-wrestling challenge worth three immunity points.

First up is Johnny Curtis against Byron Saxton. Curtis wins quickly. So of course, our next matchup is Derrick Bateman against Clay. Bateman puts up a valiant effort, then it's clear Clay is just toying with him and slams his hand to the mat. So it's Clay against Curtis in the final. It's an even battle but Clay apparently headbutts Curtis and is disqualified. Therefore your winner of three immunity points is Johnny Curtis.

Match #1 - Byron Saxton vs. Chris Masters

This is a return match from earlier in the season when Masters defeated his former rookie.

Masters catches Saxton early with a fallaway slam for two. Double-underhook suplex lands for Masters but he misses a move in the corner and Saxton gets on Masters' back but Masters ends up bringing him up to his shoulders and hitting a Samoan drop. A spinebuster hits and Masters is rolling. He calls for it and locks in the Masterlock and that's it. Glorified squash.

Winner via submission: Chris Masters

Backstage, Daniel Bryan is showing Bateman a guillotine choke. Bateman says his hands aren't strong like Bryan's. Then Gail Kim comes up. She wants to show Bateman the choke. He says girls don't know how to do submissions. Gail shows him what's what and chokes him out.

Match #2 - Brodus Clay vs. Ted DiBiase

DiBiase comes out aggressive and immediately grounds Clay with a chinlock. Clay rolls to the outside and DiBiase comes off the apron and drops Clay into the barricade. DiBiase dropkicks Clay against the dasher.

Back in the ring, DiBiase gets caught with a standing belly-to-belly and gets flung. Big elbow drop lands for Clay. Clay goes for a big splash but DiBiase gets his knees up. Then DiBiase goes for the knee. Maryse goes to kiss Grisham at commentary and this distracts DiBiase. Clay comes up behind him and power slams him and gets the fall.

Winner via pinfall: Brodus Clay

It's time for our second competition. It is the "Talk the Talk Challenge" worth two immunity points.

Saxton is up first and his topic is "WWE pros" and he has 30 seconds to speak about R-Truth. Saxton provides his own lyrics to R-Truth's theme song. This was not bad.

Bateman has to speak on Dolph Ziggler. Bateman says Ziggler has the body of a Greek god and the face of a worn-out catcher's mitt. Zing! Bateman says Ziggler changed him to Dolph Ziggler from his original name of Turd Furgueson. Zing! The pros get onboard with this and get the crowd to chant "Turd." Wow.

Curtis gets Chris Masters. He admits he can't top Bateman so he says he's going to talk about somebody else. But he doesn't talk about someone else, instead he goes up to Clay and slaps him. He rightfully is called an idiot by commentary.

Now the pros get the crowd to chant "Turd" again. Ziggler yells if they don't stop, he's leaving. This elicits a large cheer.

Clay gets to talk about Daniel Bryan. He compares Bryan to paint drying on a house, the color white or falling asleep to a boring movie. He says the one thing he will say about Bryan is that he's got a real pretty girl. He says she probably sleeps alone thinking about what it's like to be with a real man. He tells Bryan to tell Kim to come to his apartment so he can do her what a real man looks like. BA-ZING!

Bryan gets the mic and says real men don't equal fat man. The crowd loves this.

It's time to determine our winner and the runaway winner is Derrick Bateman.

Match #3 - R-Truth & Johnny Curtis vs. Daniel Bryan & Derrick Bateman

Bryan and Curtis exchange uppercuts and Bryan snapmares him and kicks him in the back. Bateman in now and he, after a brief setback, whips Curtis into the corner but Curtis comes out with a spinning heel kick. Truth in and, in a comedic moment, Curtis got the tag, they hit a double suplex on Bryan and then Truth tries to pin him, only he's not the legal man. So after much confusion, Curtis covers Bryan but Bateman breaks it up.

Truth exchanges with Bateman and Truth throws him over the top and slingshots onto him missile-style. While this is happening, Curtis goes to the top for the big leg drop but Bryan moves. Curtis sells this for exactly one second and, as Bryan charges, attempts to backslide him. Bryan, though, being the crafty vet, reverses into the LaBelle Lock and Curtis taps.

Winners via pinfall: Daniel Bryan & Derrick Bateman
