Triple H ready to Rumble?
By TIM BAINES - Ottawa Sun

The Game hasn’t had much game lately, at least not in the public eye. There seems little doubt Triple H will return to the wrestling ring. The big question is when?

The Royal Rumble, Jan. 30, makes a lot of sense.

But you wouldn’t know it from comments he made this week in WWE Magazine.

“If I can’t do this the way I feel like I should be able to, then I want to be done,” said the Cerebral Assassin. “And I don’t want to come back here and tarnish that. I don’t want to do the nostalgia run where I come out and say I’m the greatest in the world.”

Despite those words, if he’s recovered sufficiently from a torn biceps, it makes all the sense in the world for him to be the 40th entrant in the newly expanded Rumble.

It sets the stage for something bigger, Wrestlemania. And WWE could surely use a little wind in its sail.

Ready to rumble

The first 21 competitors in the Royal Rumble have been announced: Alberto Del Rio, CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Daniel Bryan, Darren Young, David Hart Smith, David Otunga, Husky Harris, John Cena, John Morrison, Mark Henry, Michael McGillicutty, Primo, R-Truth, Rey Mysterio, Sheamus, Ted DiBiase, Tyson Kidd, William Regal, Yoshi Tatsu and Zack Ryder.

Around the ring

Mason Ryan (Barri Griffiths) debuted on RAW as the newest member of Nexus. A Batista lookalike, he was dubbed Batistwo in a Twitter post by Chris Jericho. He’s from Wales and is a former Gladiators competitor ... Looks like Wade Barrett’s new faction is called The Core ... The Wrestling Observer says Brandon Barker is expected to start in WWE’s FCW developmental territory soon. Barker trained with Lance Storm in Calgary ... Scott Steiner has returned to TNA. Kevin Nash may be next.
