Val Venis slams Hardys
By TIM BAINES - Ottawa Sun

Some 10 years ago, Sean Morley was one of WWE’s rising stars — successful in the character of Val Venis, a porn star/wrestler.

And when Venis wasn’t appearing in a vignette in bed with Jenna Jameson, slinging his towel or delivering his signature, “Hello Ladies,” he was a solid technician in the ring.

Morley’s vignettes these days appear on his Facebook page. A blast posted this week from the 39-year-old Morley, a proud Canadian, took exception to the talents of Matt and Jeff Hardy (both now with TNA) and their “clan,” Shannon Moore and Shane Helms.

“They’re a bunch of backyard, trampoline-jumping, talentless goofballs,” says Morley. “They know nothing about professional wrestling. Absolutely zero. It takes zero talent to jump off the top of a ladder and land flat on your back onto another ladder. It takes stupidity, pure stupidity.”

New champions

Several new champs were crowned at TNA’s Genesis pay-per-view on Sunday. Kazarian won the X Division title from Jay Lethal, Beer Money won the tag straps from the Motor City Machineguns, Abyss won the TV title from Douglas Williams and Mr. Anderson beat Jeff Hardy for the heavyweight crown.

Around the ring

Wade Barrett was reunited with Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater on Smackdown! And over on RAW, CM Punk initiated his Nexus stablemates ... WWE NXT has a new time slot in Canada, going head-to-head with the first hour of TNA on Thursday nights ... Shawn Michaels is going into the WWE Hall of Fame on Wrestlemania weekend ... AJ Styles will be sidelined at least 6-8 weeks with a torn hip flexor and hip labrum ... Stevie Richards has quit TNA ... Could the Main Event Mafia be returning to TNA?
