Impact: Anderson, RVD feel Immortal's wrath
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on TNA Impact: Following the group's failure to control all the titles in TNA after Genesis, Immortal takes its frustrations out on the new TNA Champion Mr. Anderson and his partner Rob Van Dam. Those two face the Hardys in tonight's main event. Also on the show, it's the end of an era as Jeff Jarrett officially retires from MMA.

As always, tonight's taped show emanates from the Impact Zone in Orlando, Fla. "The Professor" Mike Tenay and The Tazz are our hosts.

Mr. Anderson is out to start the show. He still has Jeff Hardy's world title belt. He cuts a promo, basically on WWE, for holding him back "after a little birdie got in the boss's ear." Then he was brought into TNA by Eric Bischoff and was allowed to be himself. He thanks the fans for helping him get there and then asks Matt Morgan to come down so he can thank him.

He thanks Morgan for stepping up for him when he needed it the most. Morgan says the only reason Anderson has the title is because he let himself down at Genesis. Morgan says he wants to go down as the best giant the business has seen, but he can't make that claim without the title. He lets Anderson know that he's coming for the title. Morgan says hats off to Anderson because he earned the title, the Anderson's music plays.

Anderson hits a corner to celebrate when Bischoff's music hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Bischoff says if it wasn't for him, Anderson would be picking up trash in Green Bay. He says Immortal is done with him as world champion. He says on Feb. 3, 2011 on Impact, Jeff Hardy is going to get a rematch and also on that night, Hulk Hogan will be back. And when Hardy wins, Anderson can go back to being another wannabe.

Jeff Hardy then comes on the screen to cut a promo and he is attacked by Rob Van Dam, who goes to work on Hardy before Matt Hardy, sans shirt, makes the save. They beat him down until Anderson makes the save and the babyfaces make a comeback until the rest of Immortal come in and it's a gang beatdown.

Match #1 - TNA World Tag Team Championship - (c) Beer Money, Inc. vs. Motor City Machine Guns

Guns get a hot start but Beer Money takes control. Chris Sabin in now and he goes to work. Sabin to the top looking to come down on Roode but Storm cuts him off until Sabin kicks him. Roode tries to stop Sabin but he's put down to the canvas and Sabin hits the double stomp for a near fall.

Guns hit some moves in the corner and then hit Skull & Bones but Storm comes back in and shoves Sabin into Shelley, who is making the cover, and that breaks up the pin attempt. Storm DDT's Sabin. Shelley puts Roode on the top turnbuckle but Storm takes him from behind and goes for Eye of the Storm but Shelley counters only to have Storm take it back and plant him on the canvas. Roode off the top with a splash but Shelley kicks out at two. Storm hits the ropes but is low-bridged by Sabin. They hit a faceplant-dropkick combo on Roode. Storm comes back and misses a kick. Sabin grabs Storm but he ducks as Shelley delivers a superkick to the face of Sabin. Beer Money follows that up with the DWI and that's it.

Winners via pinfall and STILL TNA World Tag Team Champions: Beer Money, Inc.

The Pope is out. I can't wait for this convoluted mess. He says he forgives Samoa Joe for semi-stalking him and getting all up in his business. Pope wants to know if Joe would be as forgiving if Pope was following him around. Pope says he got footage of Joe and his wife during their personal time. He throws it to the "DixieTron." It's a picture of two pigs, uh, mating. Then he says he has video of Joe's wife giving birth. It's a pig giving birth. This needs to stop. Thankfully, Joe's music hits. He comes down and Pope scatters.

Joe grabs the mic and says Pope is a phony, a fraud, a pretender. He says he'll eventually get his hands on Pope and, "rest assure, daddy, Joe's gonna kill you."

Jeff Jarrett and Team Jarrett are out. He says tonight is a night of celebration. It's time to celebrate the career of an undefeated MMA fighter. Tonight, he says, he's hanging up the gloves. He then says behind every great man is a great woman. He then calls out his wife, Karen Jarrett, the former Karen Angle, but instead he gets Kurt Angle.

Members of Team Jarrett are quickly dispatches of on the ramp. Germans for Gunner and Murphy and Team Jarrett is wiped out. Angle stares Jarrett down and Jarrett looks ready to go when Karen comes out screaming on a mic. This allows Jarrett to get out of the ring. She says Angle will no longer play games with their personal and professional lives. She says next week, the entire world is going to hear what she has to say, her side of the story. She says it's going to be a night Kurt never forgets.

For the record, we are now 70 minutes into this show and we've had just one wrestling match on this alleged wrestling program.

Match #2 - TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship - (c) Angelina Love (Toronto, Ontario) & Winter (Chelsea, England) vs. Madison Rayne (Seattle, Wash.) & Tara (State of California)

Heels isolate Love and Rayne loads up her glove again as the referee is distracted by Winter. Mickie James runs down and grabs Rayne and pulls her out of the ring and then hits Tara. Tara is out. James chases Rayne out of the ringside area. Love gets up and hits Tara with the Botox Injection. She tags Winters in and she hits a clothesline off the top and then grounds and pounds Tara and locks in a side camel clutch/rear choke and Tara goes out and the referee calls for the bell.

Winners via submission and STILL TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions: Winter & Angelina Love

Match #3 - Abyss (Parts Unknown) vs. Matt Morgan (Fairfield, Conn.)

Morgan beats down Abyss to start but Abyss hits Morgan from behind following a brief distraction by Ric Flair at ringside. Morgan, though, hits a discus clothesline. He goes for another one but Abyss counters with a guzzle but Morgan escapes and hits the Carbon Footprint. That's it.

Winner via pinfall: Matt Morgan

Flair pokes Morgan in the eye and Morgan goes to choke slam him but Rob Terry comes out. Now it's a 3-on-1 beatdown. They leave him laying.

Match #4 - Rob Van Dam (Battle Creek, Mich.) & Mr. Anderson (Green Bay, Wisc.) vs. Jeff Hardy (Cameron, NC) & Matt Hardy (Cameron, NC)

Anderson is bleeding literally five seconds in from a prior cut. This one takes a long time to get settled as the team brawled on the outside before the match officially began.

Matt goes for a moonsault but RVD moves. He sets Matt up for a split-legged moonsault and Jeff tries to pull Matt out of the ring but he can't and Matt ends up taking a knee right to the head. That was something.

Jeff only wants in against RVD after Matt's wore him down. Hardys now have RVD isolated. RVD finally gets the tag off a kick. Anderson in against Jeff. Neckbreaker gets two for Anderson. He then hits the Mic Check but Matt makes the save. Matt goes for the Twist of Hate but Anderson pushes him off and he almost runs into the referee. Anderson charges, Matt moves and Anderson sends the ref flying through the ropes to the floor. Anderson hits a Mic Check on Matt as RVD pummels Jeff but then Beer Money comes running in. They dispatch of RVD and hit a catapult DDT on Anderson. RVD gets a Last Call Superkick on the outside. Roode rolls the ref back in the ring. Matt then hits Anderson with the Twist of Hate and Jeff follows with the Swanton. Fin.

Winners via pinfall: Jeff & Matt Hardy

Immortal comes out and we get another gang beating. Yawn.
