Impact: Jarrett continues to be highlight of show
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on TNA Impact: This show was filled with a lot of brutal stuff. But the highlight of the show, as it has been for many weeks, has been Jeff Jarrett's "Double J Double M A Open Challenge" where he gives fans an opportunity to win $100,000 if they can submit him. This weeks segment doesn't disappoint and the crowd doesn't, either. Should be a good one!

As always, tonight's taped show emanates from the Impact Zone in Orlando, Fla. "The Professor" Mike Tenay and The Tazz are our hosts.

Matt Morgan is out to start the show. He talks about the saga he and Mr. Anderson have gone through. He says he's going to have Anderson's back in their tag match tonight, but will Anderson have his? This brings Anderson out. Anderson says he wants to wrestle but Morgan says he knows Anderson isn't cleared yet. Jeff Hardy comes out to the stage. I need a translator to help me decipher this promo. Basically, he says he and Kazarian are going to beat them. This was completely nonsensical. And not in a good way.

Match #1 - X Division Championship - (c) Robbie E. (Seaside Heights, NJ) vs. Jay Lethal (Elizabeth, NJ)

Cookie almost immediately interferes, tripping Lethal. Then Chrisy Hemme comes hauling down the ramp, attacks Cookie and handcuffs Cookie to herself.

We're back and Robbie is in control. Robbie with a headlock. Lethal gets up and they trade punches in the centre of the ring. Lethal gets the best of it and hits a suplex and the Lethal Combination. He goes to the top and hits the big elbow and gets two from it. Lethal eats a boot in the corner and Robbie goes for a roll-up with his foot on the rope but Earl Hebner sees it. Robbie goes to the top but Lethal stops him and goes up and hits a superplex. Robbie calls Cookie for the spray. She tries to give it to him, but Hemme intervenes, grabs it and sprays Cookie with it. Lethal then runs into the Lethal Injection and that's it.

Winner via pinfall and NEW TNA X Division Champion: Jay Lethal

Match #2 - Max Buck & Jeremy Buck (Los Angeles, Calif.) vs. Eric Young (Nashville, Tenn.) & Orlando Jordan (Miami, Fla.)

To help promote some Hooters special, Young is accompanied by two Hooters girls and Jordan is dressed up, I kid you not, as a Hooters girl. This show.

Young grabs the mic and say this is going to be a battle royal. He then dumps referee Brian Hebner. Then he proceeds to eliminate both Bucks and his own partner. Gen Me runs back in the ring and attacks Young. We get some more "comedy." Jordan in and he locks in a submission maneuver out of nowhere on Max and he taps.

Winners via submission: Orlando Jordan & Eric Young

Match #3 - Madison Rayne (Seattle, Wash.) & Tara (State of California) vs. Mickie James (Richmond, Va.) & Miss Tessmacher (Houston, Texas)

Eric Bischoff has decreed that Tessmacher will be James' partner.

Rayne gets the heat on Tessmacher, controlling her and then mocking James. Tessmacher gets the tag to James and he comes in and hits a neckbreaker. James with a Thesz Press with some punches. She then attacks Tara but Tara decks James with her large elbow brace and then Rayne pins her.

Winners via pinfall: Madison Rayne & Tara

Brother Ray is out. He says tonight, he begins his singles career and he's picked the roughest, toughest guy in the locker room to face.

Match #4 - Brother Ray (New York City) vs. Amazing Red (Brooklyn, NY)

Ray sends Red flying with a backdrop. He's just killing Red, ragdolling him and throwing him around. But Red uses his quickness to get going and he hits a missile dropkick for some hope. He charges Ray in the corner and runs into a big boot. Ray follows up with a Bubba Bomb for the pin, covering Red with his crotch right over his face.

Winner via pinfall: Brother Ray

Ray grabs a chair and goes to hit Red when Brother Devon makes the save and runs after Ray, chasing him out of the Impact Zone.

Match #5 - Rob Terry (Cardiff, Wales) vs. Rob Van Dam (Battle Creek, Mich.)

RVD tries to get going with his kicks to some success, but Terry just nearly breaks RVD in half with a shoulder to the gut.

We're back and Terry is in control of RVD outside the ring. In the ring, backbreaker and a slam connect for two for Terry. RVD gets going. He hits a kick off the top rope and follows up with Rolling Thunder. RVD springs to the top and hits the Five-Star Frog Splash. That'll do it.

Winner via pinfall: Rob Van Dam

It's time for another edition of the Double J Double M A Open Challenge. Jarrett comes out and and uses Kurt Angle's entrance ramp and pyro. Then he hits his own pyro and comes out with his own team. He gets prepped near the ring just like MMA fighters do. Jeff Jarrett is a great man.

The crowd is just doing bananas wanting to take on Jarrett. "This is crazy," Taz says. Jarrett then runs down crowd members. He tells one the only thing he can submit is a Chinese buffet." He runs down a few others and then points at selects one. This is Jose, but his friends call him Jay. His last name is Rios and he's here from San Juan, Puerto Rico. Jarrett slaps Rios and Rios responds by throwing his knit cap at Jarrett. IT'S ON NOW! Until he goes for a weak body lock. Oh boy. Jarrett with knees to the body and punches that drop Rios. Crowd chanting for Rios but Jarrett locks in a rear-naked choke and Rios taps.

Gunner and Murphy hoist Jarrett on their shoulders. The crowd is livid. This was great.

Match #6 - Jeff Hardy (Cameron, NC) & Kazarian (Anaheim, Calif.) vs. Matt Morgan (Fairfield, Conn.) & Mr. Anderson (Green Bay, Wisc.)

Kazarian drills Anderson with a kick to the back of the head early on and everyone is concerned. Anderson, though, basically no sells it but then Anderson falls on an Irish whip and Kazarian hits the corner and falls down hitting Anderson in the back of the head. Anderson brings in Morgan. He goes to town on Kazarian. Rapid fire elbows connect. Big splash and he follows with a sidewalk slam. Morgan hits the ropes and Hardy low-bridges Morgan and throws him into the steps.

He throws him back in the ring and Kazarian tags Hardy. Kazarian back in and he knocks Anderson off the apron with a head shot. Hardy in. They go for a double suplex on Morgan but Anderson flies in. We get a ref bump. He hits the plunge on Kazarian and Morgan follows with a big leg drop. Anderson hits a jawbreaker on Hardy and Morgan follows with a big clothesline. Anderson goes to the top when Rob Terry comes waddling down and crotches Anderson and pulls Morgan down on the top rope. Hardy catches Morgan with the Twist of Hate and that's it.

Winners via pinfall: Jeff Hardy & Kazarian
