Del Rio expects to get hurt in TLC main event

Alberto Rodriguez has wrestled in big matches around the world, sometimes in front of more than 50,000 people, as Dos Caras Jr.

But when he steps into the ring Sunday as rising star Alberto Del Rio at "WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs" in a four-way TLC match for the World Heavyweight Championship with Kane, Edge and Rey Mysterio, he admits it's going to be the biggest match of his career for two reasons.

"I'm going to have the chance to face those legends and especially because I'm going for the heavyweight title," he said. "For me, this is the most important match in my career."

Not many wrestlers these days are being put in pay-per-view title matches only four months after debuting on television. Del Rio was, though. With 10 years of international experience behind him, he's confident heading into Sunday's bout in Houston, Texas.

"They've been incredible," Del Rio said of his first months on television. "I'm here in the most incredible company in the world, WWE, and I'm just one step away from being the next WWE world heavyweight champion."

The match being a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match, though, weighs on his mind. This will be Del Rio's first TLC match, a contest many have categorized as taking a big toll on their bodies.

"I think for a match like that you just need to go out and do your best," he said. "You're going to get hurt anyway."

Del Rio also had the chance to participate in WWE's annual "Tribute to the Troops" show last weekend in Texas.

"Tribute to the Troops was a new experience for me, it was incredible," Del Rio said. "I was able to see how much this company gives for everybody. All the soldiers there at the base were very thankful for us. They showed us how much they like WWE, how much they enjoy what we do and of course, we told them how much we appreciate what they do."

After being a late addition to the title match, Del Rio said his focus is on Mysterio and the world championship.

"At the end, the only one who's going to be left is Alberto Del Rio with the title."
