Impact: Morgan continues to battle Immortal
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on TNA Impact: Matt Morgan continues his battle against Immortal and he and former Fortune stablemate Douglas WIlliams have to recruit two others to combat the remaining members of Fortune in the main event. Also, Jeff Jarrett goes to an MMA gym and battles children in the best Impact segment in months.

As always, tonight's taped show emanates from the Impact Zone in Orlando, Fla. "The Professor" Mike Tenay and The Tazz are our hosts.

Immortal is backstage celebrating Thanskgiving with Eric Young as chef. I hear in the background "I'm just trying to have lunch with friends" as the time stamp on the screen says 8:35 p.m. Eric Bischoff gives a toast to everybody. Bischoff then wants to address some things. He has an empty seat and says that seat is for former TNA president Dixie Carter. Someone does a spit take. Hogan says there are things you talk about and you don't just invite Dixie.

We hit the intro and Matt Morgan is on his way out. He talks about how he went through some members of Fortune to earn a title shot two weeks ago and Ric Flair last week to earn the right to name the special referee. He talks about the importance of naming the referee. He wants someone who can take names as referee, someone like himself. He says he's going to prove to the fans that they can have a TNA Champion they can be proud of.

This brings Douglas WIlliams out. He says Morgan needs to look no further for a referee. He runs down Fortune. He says AJ Styles needs to lose his virginity before he becomes the next Ric Flair. He says Kazarian aspires to be on America's Next Top Model. He says James Storm's Breathalyzer test score is higher than his IQ and that the suit Robert Roode wears he bought from Williams' garage sale. He says Ric Flair is living for yesterday and he is living for now. He tells Morgan he was there last week and did the right thing and Morgan can expect him to do the right thing again.

He tells Williams he'll be the first to know when he names the referee and this brings out Fortune.

Flair says Morgan and Williams are on the outside looking in. Flair then is held back by Fortune as he tries to run to the ring. Kazarian grabs the mic and says that when he was growing up, there was always live pro-wrestling. He suggests they find some partners and have an eight-man elimination match. Morgan accepts.

Match #1 - Street Fight - Rhino (Detroit, Mich.) vs. Tommy Dreamer (Yonkers, NY)

Doesn't take long for these two to get to the pillage. Dreamer eats a trash can to the head. Dreamer bleeding about 90 seconds into the match as Rhino takes it to him. Kendo stick shot then a kick to the injured wrist. Rhino sets a trash can up between the top two turnbuckles and throws Dreamer into it, but Dreamer moves before he can hit a shoulder.

Dreamer takes over with a couple cookie sheet shots but Rhino hits a Northern Lights suplex. He sets a table up in the corner but Dreamer sidesteps a Gore and hits him with a cookie sheet before rolling him up for the fall.

Winner via pinfall: Tommy Dreamer

The Knockouts brawl in the back. If you've seen it once, you've seen it all. Only notable when Winter makes the save for Angelina as Sarita attacks her. Yes, this was an entire segment.

Madison Rayne is dragging Earl Hebner to the ring. She calls out Sarita for her actions in the seemingly hour-long brawl. Sarita comes out. We ring the bell as both are in street clothes.

Match #2 - Madison Rayne (Seattle, Wash.) vs. Sarita (Mexico City, Mexico)

They brawl in the ring. Sigh. Sarita gets rolling. I guess she's a face now? I'm so confused. Back suplex connects and Rayne takes a roll to the outside. Sarita slingshots out and crashes and burns. Rayne brings her back in the ring and taunts and mocks her but Sarita picks her ankle, takes her down and pins her.

Winner via pinfall: Sarita

Oh my goodness. This is so great. Jeff Jarrett is at a local MMA gym with little kids. Like six- and seven-year olds. He asks one of them who perfected the ankle lock. The kid says Kurt Angle. He says, no Angle stole it from Ken Shamrock but Jarrett perfected it. He then tells one of the kids to put it on him. He chastises the kid and calls him a wimp. He then makes the kid tap to the move. He then taps out two other children with an armbar and a rear-naked choke. This was the best thing on Impact in literally months. I will watch this again and again and again.

Match #3 - Submission Match - Jesse Neal (Orlando, Fla.) vs. Jeff Jarrett (Hendersonville, Tenn.)

Neal getting the better of Jarrett here early but Jarrett gets the mount, lands some shots and locks in an armbar but Neal gets to the ropes. Now Jarrett gets Neal down again and locks in the ankle lock. Neal fights it and gets the ropes. Jarrett hangs on to it but referee Brian Hebner pulls Jarrett off by the hair. Jarrett goes back to work. Hebner again is on Jarrett. Neal gets going and runs in for a spear but Jarrett pulls Hebner in front of Neal and he takes the hit.

Jarrett goes under the ring and grabs a guitar and drills Neal with it. He clears the evidence, locks in a rear-naked choke and calls for the ref. He raises Neal's arm, it drops and that's it.

Winner via submission: Jeff Jarrett

Brother Ray is in the ring. He says Devon is the weak one and if it wasn't for Devon, he could've retired as a tag team champion. He then calls the audience stupid for being wrestling fans. I can't make this up. He shows a highlight video of Devon getting beat up, then a video of himself doing well. Ray says he's heard Devon is angry, so he invites him to the Impact Zone next week to meet him face-to-face.

Match #4 - Eight-Man Elimination Match - Douglas Williams (The United Kingdom), The Pope (Harlem, NY), Samoa Joe (Isle of Samoa) & Matt Morgan (Fairfield, Conn.) vs. AJ Styles (Gainesville, Ga.), Kazarian (Anaheim, Calif.), James Storm (Leipers Fork, Tenn.) & Robert Roode (Wall Street)

Fortune goes to work on Pope early, but Pope catches Storm in a roll-up and he's quickly gone.

James Storm eliminated

Styles in against Pope and he misses a big splash and Pope tags in Morgan. Styles tags an unwilling Kazarian. Kazarian wants Joe, so Morgan gives it to him. Rapid-fire punches land right away for Joe and then he just walks away from a springboard by Kazarian. Joe gets rolling and brings in WIlliams. Kazarian gets WIlliams up for an electric chair, but WIlliams elbows out and hits the rolling Chaos Theory suplex and pins Kaz.

Kazarian eliminated

Down to 4-on-2 now. Roode going to work on Williams and he goes into the corner where Joe and Pope blind tag him at the same time. They both want in and then they start to brawl all the way to the back. Back in the ring, Fortune eliminates Williams.

Douglas Williams eliminated

Morgan the only man left now. Flying forearm by Styles. They double team Morgan. Styles hits the Pele as we move to Reaction. He goes for the 450 but misses by a mile. Now Morgan gets going on Roode. Big splash followed by a side slam and Styles saves the fall. Discus clothesline connects. Styles tries to springboard in but is caught and Morgan hits a fallaway slam that sends Styles to the outside. Morgan lines Roode up for the Carbon Footprint but Jeff Hardy comes out and low blows him. No DQ is called. Referee Jackson James gets in Hardy's face but Hardy hits him with the Twist of Hate. So I guess the match is just over. Another non-finish to conclude another edition of Impact. How great.
