Countdown to WWE Bragging Rights

So just a few weeks removed from Hell in a Cell, WWE has it's latest PPV offering ready for our viewing, as tonight the Fed presents Bragging Rights.

The concept of the show, naturally, is Smackdown vs. Raw, which we will see in a couple matches alongside the pre-requisite title bouts. Why we don't get this builty into Survivor Series, I don't know; but nonetheless, we're getting a pretty interesting card overall, so I guess I shouldn't complain much.

In all likelihood, one or two feuds will continue on to their creszendo next month, so I'd be surprised a bit if there is any major news coming out of tonight's card. Nonetheless, let's take a look at what's in store for WWE Bragging Rights.

WWE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

Wade Barrett vs. Randy Orton

Barrett as a main eventer works for me, and he's effectively built Cena into a sympathetic babyface. I'm not sure, however, that taking the belt off Orton, which seems to be inevitable, is the best move since Randy would float into the next PPV with no real opponent. Instead, I see Cena costing Barrett the match and getting fired tonight, only to be brought back next month in a Survivor Series bout. Orton wins.

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BURIED ALIVE MATCH

Kane vs. Undertaker

I like that this match is happening but I don't like that it's not taking place at Survivor Series. It would seem more logical for 'Taker and Kane to have the blow-off match there, and quite honestly, I can't see any other match being the grand finale. 'Taker either needs the win here or will take some time off, presumably until the Rumble. I'll go with the latter. Kane retains.

  BRAGGING RIGHTS ELIMINATION MATCH

Team Smackdown vs. Team Raw

If the trophy meant something I'd be more excited. One message board scrawl suggested that this match determine which brand's main event is the final bout at WrestleMania, a concept that I think would help build interest. As is, the only excitement here is whether returnees Tyler Rex and/or Ezekiel Jackson get a good push coming out of the bout. I'm betting on Raw winning, with Miz being the sole survivor.

  BRAND VS. BRAND MATCH

Dolph Ziggler vs. Daniel Bryan

Having just seen these two fight tonight in Winnipeg, I can tell you that Bryan and Ziggler gel. This could be a show stealer if given time. If Bryan loses, I'll be shocked.

  DIVA'S TITLE MATCH

Natalya vs. Layla

Nattie's been kicking ass all over TV (thanks to shows being in Canada this week), so the WWE logic is that Layla wins.
