RAW: Smackdown! superstars invade Monday Night
By DALE PLUMMER -- SLAM! Wrestling

With Bragging Rights less than a week away, wait, another WWE Pay-Per-View? It seems like these things are every other week. Whatever happened to building up storylines? All I know is that The Miz is captain of Team RAW, and Randy Orton is defending the WWE title against ... someone. Hopefully RAW from Calgary can fill in some of the blancks.

Smackdown General Manager Teddy Long kicks off the show. He is in the arena, because he can, and he is going to take over RAW. The secret RAW GM cannot be pleased, and fires off an email to Michael Cole. The RAW GM demands Long leave the ring, but Teddy is there is push the PPV, with the ugliest trophy ever. Long flaunts the fact that Smackdown won the trophy last year. The GM gives Teddy an ultimatum to get out of the ring. Long argues with Cole, as the emails pour in. Teddy stands atop the GM podium and announces he is disconnecting the RAW GM. He then introduces Team Smackdown: team captain The Big Show, Edge, Alberto del Rio, Kofi Kingston, Jack Swagger, Tyler Reks, and Rey Mysterio.

As captain of team RAW, Miz doesn’t take this lying down. He’s says it looks like there are a bunch of Smurfs in the ring. Miz then introduces his team; CM Punk, John Morrison, Santino Marella, Ezekiel Jackson, and Sheamus. Miz tells Smackdown to get out or else. Team RAW hits the ring, and an all-out brawl ensues. Samckdown forces RAW out of the ring, as The Miz tells his squad to save it for Sunday. Big Show says they will leave willingly, on one condition: The Miz has to face Big Show one on one, tonight. Miz accepts.

Match #1 – Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes vs. The Hart Legacy w/ Natalya

Cody Rhodes plants Tyson Kidd with an early bulldog. McIntyre tags in, beating Kidd into the corner. He pulls him from the ring, slamming him into the security barrier. Back in the ring, Kidd lands on his feet after a back drop and gets the tag to David Hart Smith. A leg drop gets a near fall, but McIntyre kicks out. Rhodes breaks up the pin after a power slam, but Smith stays in control. Kidd looks for the Hart Attack, but instead Smith locks in the Sharp Shooter. Kidd wants to know what is going on, so Smith breaks the hold. McIntyre takes advantage, nailing Smith with the Future Shock DDT. McIntyre covers for the win.

Winner via pinfall: Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes

After the match, Kidd walks to the back by himself.

Randy Orton approaches John Cena and wants to put everything on the table. Orton wants Cena to know that if he gets in his way he will have no problem putting him out of his misery. Cena tells Orton if he tries he will break off his leg. (If Cena is a part of Nexus, why isn’t he wearing the “N” shirt?)

Apparently it’s time to sing along with R-Truth.

Match #2 – Goldust w/ Aksana vs. Zac Ryder

Ted DiBiase and Maryse walk out on stage, with Ted having plans on getting his million dollar title back. Goldust destroys Ryder with the Final Cut, and DiBiase makes his move. Goldust is jumped from behind, but Aksana has the belt. Maryse chases her to the back, but Goldust recovers and hits DiBaise with the Final Cut.

Winner via pinfall: Goldust

John Cena reports to his boss. Barrett wants Wade Cena to give Michael McGillicutty and Husky Harris everything he has to see if they are Nexus material. Barrett then orders Cena to get him a glass of water.

The Miz walks in on Big Show’s movie co-star whopping butt in Smackdown vs. RAW. Show walks in to save the little guy.

Cena returns with said water, and Barrett tosses it in his face.

Match #3 – John Cena and Randy Orton vs. Husky Harris and Michael McGillicutty

Cena goes right after McGillicutty, beating him all over the ring. McGillicutty is tossed from the ring on a throw out of a fisherman’s suplex. And we go to break.

After the commercials, Orton is beating McGillicutty all over the ring. Cena gets the tag, but runs into a back elbow. Harris gets the tag, and beats Cena in the corner, and then crushes him with a charge. McGillicutty tags back in, hitting a snap mare off the turnbuckle. Harris tags back in, hitting a flying forearm, and then applies a chin lock. Harris looks for a splash, but Cena rolls out of danger. Orton gets the hot tag, as McGillicutty tags in. The champ hits a scoop slam, and then sets up the elevated DDT. He drops McGillicutty, and pushes Harris into Cena, who drops him with an AA. McGillicutty gets to his feet only to be rewarded with an RKO from Orton. Orton covers for the win.

Winner via pinfall: Randy Orton and John Cena

After the match, Cena goes to shake Orton’s hand, but Barrett orders him from the ring. Cena is made to watch as Nexus surround Orton. Orton holds his own, until they gang up on him on the outside. Orton is tossed into the ring, where the beating continues. Cena just looks on helplessly. Justin Gabriel tops off the carnage with a 450 splash. Barrett orders Cena into the ring and wants him to give Orton an Attitude Adjustment. Cena shakes his head, but still picks Orton up. Barrett changes his mind, and finishes off Orton himself. Cena leaves the ring and walks to the back by himself.

Vicki Guerrero crashes RAW. She wants to take credit for the Smackdown superstars appearing on RAW, especially Dolph Ziggler. They both head to the ring, but are interrupted by the US Champion Daniel Bryan, who says he will make Ziggler tap out. He wants a title versus title match at Bragging Rights. Ziggler accepts, but doesn’t want to wait until Sunday. He slaps Bryan, who tries to comeback on him, but he hides behind Vicki. Bryan sidesteps her, catching Ziggler on the outside. He applies the LeBell lock and Ziggler taps.

As officials try to break the hold, a group of Divas hit the ring. They tosses confetti all over Vicki, and she runs to the back. They all then congratulate Bryan in their own special way. Bryan breaks it down in the middle of the ring, and he dances better than Eve.

Match #4 – Natalya vs. Alicia Fox

Natalya quickly gets Alicia in the Sharp Shooter and she taps.

Winner via submission: Natalya

LayCool walks out to rain on Natalya's homecoming. Michelle and Layla attack together and Michelle gets Natalya in a Sharp Shooter. Nattie counters, but Layla breaks it up. Natalya fights off both women.

Josh Matthews asks Teddy Long if he thinks it is brazen they showed up on RAW. Teddy Long doesn’t think so, as Hornswoggle leads the entire roster out to the ring.

I just sat through a 5-minute PR commercial for WWE. I’m already watching, you don’t need to sell me on what good the company does. But WWE does have a point; they’ve been getting killed in numerous political campaigns.

Wade Barrett grabs Cena in the back and says they aren’t done with Orton yet.

RAW Guest star Bobby J Thompson is introduced. He stars in Knucklehead with Big Show, and he introduces him to the ring. Show comes to the ring with the entire Smackdown roster.

Match #5 – The Big Show w/ vs. the Miz

The Miz also brings the RAW roster to the ring, and I have a feeling that this match is going to end in an all-out brawl. Miz fights off a chokeslam and Show tosses him from the ring. The RAW and Smackdown guys keep each other at bay. Teddy Long walks out and makes this match a Battle Royale.

Match #5 – RAW vs. Smackdown! Battle Royal

This is the definition of a cluster. The best part so far -- Hornswoggle stealing Michael Cole’s headset and microphone. Miz hides outside the ring, never officially being eliminated. Sheamus and Ezekiel Jackson suplex Big Show in the middle of the ring. Miz jumps back in and tries to eliminate Big Show, but they can’t get him over. Edge, who was pulled out of the ring by Jack Swagger, runs back in spearing Sheamus. Show tosses Miz from the ring, and Edge eliminates Sheamus to give Smackdown the win.

Winner: Team Smackdown!

In the back, Barrett wants his troops to practice what they are going to do when he wins the WWE Title. Barrett wants Cena to raise his hand. Cena reluctantly complies and then walks off to end the show,
