RAW: Orton breaks the Walls down
By DALE PLUMMER -- SLAM! Wrestling

Two weeks is enough time to build up to a Pay-per-View, right? Well, apparently the WWE thinks so because Hell in a Cell is only two weeks away, and if you were in Indianapolis last week, just skip this report. Why? Because two RAW shows taped last week, so we aren’t really live tonight.

The Miz walks out, with Alex Riley in tow, and is already talking about Daniel Bryan. He tells Bryan that he will get embarrassed tonight, as he and Riley will beat him in a tag team match. Bryan interrupts, and The Miz is not impressed. The Miz wants to know who Bryan’s partner will be, and John Morrison quickly answers that question.

Match #1 – The Miz and Alex Riley vs. Daniel Bryan and John Morrison

Bryan and Riley face off, and Bryan nearly gets a quick pin. Morrison tags in, beating Riley into the corner. Out of desperation, Riley drops Morrison across the ropes and tags in Miz. Morrison gets catapulted into the bottom rope. Riley tags in, stomping Morrison into the corner, and then knocks Bryan off the apron. Morrison is blocked from making the tag by The Miz. Bryan finally gets the hot tag, knocks Riley off the apron, and then kicks Miz in the corner. Bryan looks for the LeBell Lock, but Miz counters by knocking Bryan into his partner. Miz hits the Skull Crushing Finale and covers for the win.

Winner via pinfall: The Miz and Alex Riley

The Miz looks to do some extra damage, but Morrison makes the save. The fight spills to the floor, and Bryan connects on a suicide dive. Morrison takes offense and start beating on his partner. The fight stops because of an incoming email.

The GM rules that Daniel Bryan will defend his US title against Morrison and the Miz in a Triple Threat Submissions count anywhere match.

Match #2 – Diva Battle Royale – Number One Contender Match

Pretty much all the Divas are involved in this thing, and Natalya is the last women standing.

Winner: Natalya

Maryse is complaining about losing the Battle Royale, but Ted DiBiase says he doesn’t care. They get a knock at the door, but just find a letter. It says, “Next week, you will be mine.” But we still don’t know who it is meant for.

Former WWE champion Sheamus hits the ring. He tells some folk story from his home country. The morale of the story -- the Irish are nuts. I mean, Sheamus will do anything to win back the WWE Title, fella! And he will take on anyone tonight to prove it.

After the break, Sheamus is still looking for someone to fight, so of course out comes the Great Khali.

Match #3 – Sheamus vs. The Great Khali

Sheamus screams at the giant, but Khali just chops him into the corner. Sheamus fights back, boots Khali out of the ring. He continues the assault on the floor, throwing one of the announce chairs at him. The ref calls for the bell, disqualifying Sheamus. Khali tries to fight back, but Sheamus catches him with the bicycle kick.

Winner via DQ: The Great Khali

The Cutting Edge

Edge returns to host his show and his guest is the anonymous RAW GM via live audio chat. The voice is disguised and the GM says he needs his privacy so he can’t be influenced. Edge calls him a liar. The GM wants to know why he wants a confrontation. Edge starts to argue, and realizes he looks like a fool yelling at a computer. The GM tells Edge that Chris Jericho is bluffing, but he may want to know who his opponent is tonight. Edge doesn’t think he is wrestling, but the GM says he will have a match tonight, against John Cena.

Match #4 – Edge vs. John Cena

Nexus watches from the back, and Edge and Cena tie up. Edge blocks a STF, kicking Cena out of the ring. A drop kick through the ropes keeps Cena outside the ring. Edge attacks him on the floor, whipping Cena into the ring steps. Edge rolls Cena back into the ring, where Cena gets to his feet and looks for an Attitude Adjustment. Edge counters with an Edge-o-Matic. Cena is whipped hard into the corner, and hits the mat. Cena counters a suplex with one of his own. Edge counters another AA with a DDT, but cannot get the pin. Cena hits the throwback, and sets Edge up on the top rope. Edge drops out of the hold. Cena misses a shoulder charge and Edge hits a spear. Edge covers for the win.

Winner via pinfall: Edge

Unfortunately for Edge, Cena’s foot was under bottom rope. (How is that Edge’s fault? The ref blew the call.) The GM orders the match restarted. Edge beats on Cena, and the ref breaks it up. Edge goes for the spear, but Cena counters with a drop toe hold. Cena locks in the STF, and after pulling him to the middle of the ring, Edge taps.

Winner via submission: John Cena

Edge is not happy, eyeing up the GM laptop. The GM tells him to walk away; instead Edge pushes over the GM podium and destroys the computer.

Wade Barrett leads his Nexus crew to the ring.

Match #5 – Mark Henry and Evan Bourne vs. Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater

Bourne hits Air Bourne on Gabriel, but Slater is able to push Bourne and have Gabriel roll him up for the pin.

Winner via pinfall: Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater

After the match, Nexus destroys Henry on the outside, and Bourne in the ring. Barrett calls for the microphone, saying that when Cena is forced to join Nexus he will help them get to the next level. Otunga informs us they will be invading Smackdown!

Match #6 – The Hart Dynasty w/ Natalya vs. “Dashing” Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre – WWE Tag Team Championship Match

David Hart Smith knocks McIntyre from the ring, and sets Rhodes up for the Hart Attack. McIntyre pushes Kidd off the ropes into Smith, allowing Cody to hit Smith with Cross Rhodes to pick up the win and retain the belts.

Winner via pinfall: “Dashing” Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre

R-Truth stops in to tell Cena he always has his back. Cena tells him not to worry about it; he won’t be part of the Nexus. Truth tells him to be careful. Cena thinks he should also show up at Smackdown!

Match #7 – Chris Jericho vs. Randy Orton

Jericho says after he wins this match he will go on to win the WWE Title. Jericho tells Orton he will join the list of champions he has beaten, and he goes on to list them by name. We thankfully cut to commercial.

After the break, Jericho is still listing his vanquished opponents. Thankfully Orton’s music finally shuts him up.

(Due to a terrible cable provider that I won’t mention, COMCAST, I have to fast forward to the end of this match.)

Sheamus walks slowly down the ramp toward the ring. Jericho tries to get a pin by using the ropes, but the ref calls him out on it. Jericho counters a RKO with a backslide pin, but Orton kicks out. Jericho applies a sleeper. Orton powers out, but runs into a drop kick.

Later in the match, Jericho looks to put Orton is the walls, but Orton counters, sending Jericho to the floor. Orton waits, and sets up the elevated DDT. Orton drops him with it, and stalks him prey. Sheamus finally jumps on the apron, and the ref calls for the bell.

Winner via DQ: Randy Orton

Orton hits Sheamus with a DDT and looks for the punt. Orton walks into a Code Breaker from Jericho, who then grabs a chair. He swings wildly at Orton and misses. Orton catches him with an RKO onto the chair. With Jericho down already, Orton lines up the punt. He boots Jericho in the head, as Sheamus looks on. The Irishman looks like he wants nothing to do with Orton. Jericho is attended to by medical personnel and is carried out on a stretcher.
