RAW: Celebrating 900 episodes
By DALE PLUMMER -- SLAM! Wrestling

900 episodes. Even though the WWE loves to toot its own horn, this is one impressive accomplishment. I havenít been there for all of them, but a conservative guess would put me at about 750. Thatís a lot of wrestling. Tonightís historic event comes to us from Boston, Mass. (Although celebrating this accomplishment without Jim Ross just isnít right. Even thought we are sure to see historic clips all night.)

Match #1 Ė Kofi Kingston and Michael McGillicutty vs. Daniel Bryan and Kaval vs. The Miz and Alex Riley

(So weíre celebrating RAW by pushing NXT?)

Kaval hits his finisher off the top rope on McGillicutty, but Miz hits the Skull Crushing Finale on him before he can get the pin. Miz covers Kaval and gets the win.

Winner via pinfall: The Miz and Alex Riley

After the bell, Bryan kicks Riley off the apron, but Miz runs in and clocks Bryan with the MitB briefcase.

Match #2 Ė LayCool vs. Melina and Eve Torres

Melina gets a quick roll up after pushing Layla into her partner. Melina is able to get the three count and pick up the win.

Winner via submission: Melina and Eve Torres

Melina stands with the rest of the WWE divas.
After the match, Michelle tells Melina that win was just like her, completely forgettable. Michelle then proposes a unification match at Night of Champions. Melina accepts, under one condition -- it has to be a lumberjack match. LayCool is cool with that.

Nexus is in the back, and there seems to be some dissension among the ranks. Barrett quickly puts out that fire, by telling his troops they need to do something unforgettable.

Josh Matthews wants Chris Jerichoís feeling on RAW going forward. Jericho cuts him off; Jericho says he had an epiphany. Jericho says if he doesnít win the title at Night of Champions, he is done. Matthews doubts his words, but Jericho says he will prove it tonight by showing he is the best in the world.

Match #3 Ė John Morrison and R-Truth vs. Dashing Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre Ė WWE Tag Team Title Number One contender Match

Truth and Rhodes lock up to start things off. Rhodes with a kick to the gut, but Truth counters with a hip toss. McIntyre and Morrison run in and pair off, with all four men fighting. The ref calls for the bell, as Cody is tossed to the floor. Truth follows with a suicide dive. Morrison and McIntyre fight to the floor, and Morrison drop kicks Drew into the GM podium.

No Contest

(I havenít been recapping the RAW moments, but after the first one, which was from the first Monday Night RAW. Almost all the others have been from the last calendar year. I donít think WWE wants to remind how great this show once was, especially during the Austin Era.)

Match #4 Ė Bret Hart vs. The Undertaker

Wade Barrett walks out before the match can start and declares it wonít happen. He says the future is Nexus, and thatís what people should be talking about. Barrett goes after the Undertaker. In what can only be called a bad move, Undertaker connects with a big boot, sending Barrett to the floor. The lights go out, and The Undertaker gets a dose of his own medicine, as Kane is waiting for him. The two fight, until the lights go out again. When they come back up, Taker is alone in the ring. The rest of Nexus walk down and surround the ring. Taker fights the group off, setting Barrett up for a choke slam, until the lights go out again. This time when the light returns, Barrett has Undertaker on his shoulders and hits the firemanís carry slam. They drag Taker to the corner, where Justin Gabriel hits the 450 splash. Undertaker tries to sit up, but canít. Kane just laughs from the top of the stage.

No Contest

Match #5 Ė Jack Swagger vs. Evan Bourne

Swagger talks all the way to the ring. Bourne tries to go low, but Swagger just beats him into the mat and then slams him into the turnbuckle. In the middle of the match, Alberto Del Rio drives into the arena. The guy drives a Bentley and has his own ring announcer. The match is going on, and Swagger is dominating. Bourne turns the tables, and goes Air Bourne. Swagger rolls away, and slaps on an Ankle Lock. Bourne taps.

Winner via submission: Jack Swagger

After the match, Del Rio gets on the microphone and tells the crown because of him Rey Mysterio will not be at RAW. He isnít happy though, because the RAW fans didnít get a chance to see him hurt Rey. So he is going to recreate it with Evan Bourne. Del Rio grabs a chair and hits the ring. He locks in a cross arm breaker. Alberto kicks him out the ring, and puts his arm in the chair. Mark Henry makes the save, and Del Rio takes off up the ramp.

Look! Stone Cold isn't there!
CM Punk and his Straight Edge Society hit the ring. Punk says he is better than The Rock because he doesnít drink, smoke, or make crappy movies. He gets the crowd fired up by asking if the miss The Rock. Punk doesnít miss him, because The Rock promotes the cesspool that is RAW. Punk has two words: Katie Vick. (That happened during the time I wasnít watching RAW.) Punk says he is going to show the most atrocious things that happen on RAW. The first is property damage. The second is reckless behavior. He also cites trespassing, like when DX tried to invade WCW. CM Punk wraps it up with excessive use of alcohol, and cues up Stone Cold Steve Austin clips. Punk rips into the use of beer, and Stone Coldís music hits, but the man himself never appears. Punk has pulled a fast one on the crowd, and boy is he happy with himself. Punk wants to show clips from a good show, Smackdown! We see the superplex by Big Show and Brock Lesnar that broke the ring. Punk uses the time cut down Big Show, so the big guy comes out.

Big Show tells Punk if he wants to embarrass him there are better ways then calling him fat. Show says heís an entertainer and proceeds to show off some impressions. Punk says he isnít funny and nobody likes him. Show slaps Punk across the chest, and then beats Luke Gallows into the corner. The S.E.S. clear the ring, and Show wants a fight.

Josh Matthews tries to interview WWE champion Sheamus. Instead, Sheamus just grabs the microphone and tells the crowd Triple H is never coming back because of what he did to him. Sheamus thinks that why he is getting punished by being forced into the six pack match. Sheamus then whines that is the most poorly treated champion in the history of RAW. Edge walks out, and informs him that he has been thrown into the Long Island sound, had weddings broken up, and all sorts of atrocities. Edge can say that he has given it back three fold by winning 29 titles. And he will win the six pack challenge.

Match #6 Sheamus, Edge, Chris Jericho, Randy Orton and John Cena vs. Nexus (Wade Barrett, David Otunga, Justin Gabriel, Michael Tarver, and Heath Slater) Ė 5 on 5 Elimination Match

(Didnít we pay $45 two weeks ago to see this?)

Jericho wants to start things off for his side, and faces off against Michael Tarver. Jericho ducks out of the ring, and heads back up the ramp. He gets himself counted out.

Eliminated via countout: Chris Jericho

Edge enters the ring, hits the ref, and gets disqualified.

Eliminated via DQ: Edge

Cena enters the ring, and punches Tarver into the corner, when Sheamus tags in and continues the assault. Slater tags in, and the champ works him over. Slater kicks out of a pin, and scrambles to tag in Otunga. Sheamus takes him down with a clothesline. Otunga runs Sheamus into the turnbuckle and drags him to the corner, where Nexus puts the boots to him. Nexus tag in and out quickly, keeping the pressure on Sheamus. Sheamus powers out of back slide, but cannot hit the Celtic Cross. Sheamus tries to take out Nexus on the apron, but Gabriel kicks him in the face. Slater slams Sheamus to the mat and covers for the pin.

Eliminated via pinfall: Sheamus

Cena hits the ring, and nails Slater with an Attitude Adjustment. Cena covers and gets the pin.

Eliminated via pinfall: Heath Slater

Barrett hits the ring, knocking Cena to the floor. He slams Cena off the announce table, and then goes for a quick pin in the ring. Cena kicks out, and Gabriel gets the tag. Cena rolls to the apron, allowing Barrett to get in some cheap shots. Otunga tags in, but Cena reverse a suplex. Otunga cuts off the tag to Orton. Cena takes advantage with a drop toe hold into the STF. Otunga taps.

Eliminated via submission: David Otunga

Cena rolls off of Otunga, but Gabriel is waiting with the 450 splash. He covers and pins Cena for the three count.

Eliminated via pinfall: John Cena

Orton dashes in, and immediately hits Gabriel with an RKO. Orton covers and gets the pinfall.

Eliminated via pinfall: Justin Gabriel

Michael Tarver runs in and meets the same fate. The RKO, followed by a pin.

Eliminated via pinfall: Michael Tarver

Wade Barrett runs in, picks up Orton, and slams him with the firemanís carry. He covers and wins the match for Nexus.

Eliminated via pinfall: Randy Orton

Nexus wins
