WWE NXT: 2 more rookies sent packing as tensions rise
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on WWE NXT: Tension fills the air as not one, but two rookies will be sent packing tonight. With only two weeks left in the competition, the heat is on. After one rookie is eliminated in the opening segment, the remaining four rookies are in action tonight, two against WWE pros. Then the ax comes, leaving three rookies. Should be a good one!

And we are LIVE! from Bakersfield, Calif. Michael Cole and Josh Mathews are our commentators and Matt Striker is our host. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG,V).

Matt Striker is in the ring with the five remaining rookies. Each rookie is going to get one minute to speak about anything other than why they shouldn't be eliminated.

Percy Watson's topic is "3D." Desire, determination and dedication. He has all that to win NXT. Alex Riley's topic is "Alex Riley." Michael McGuillicutty's topic is "the competition behind him." He asks Watson if he's smiling or scared. He makes fun of Kaval's catchphrase. He tells Husky Harris that he is going to win it and he calls Riley the David Otunga of season 2. Kaval says the topic is "NXT." Kaval raps. It's kinda funny. Harris talks about cowboy boots. He says he's wearing Barry Windham's championship boots.

Well, it's time for an elimination. Instead of putting up a poll, they just show who's eliminated. It's "Showtime" Percy Watson.

Match #1 - Michael McGuillicutty (Champlin, Minn.) vs. Zack Ryder (Long Island, NY)

McGuillicutty sends Ryder outside and misses a baseball slide and Ryder boots him in the chest. Ryder takes control. McGuillicutty fires up out of the corner and lands three back elbows and a big splash in the corner. The referee has to pull McGuillicutty off Ryder in the corner. But Ryder takes the opportunity and wrings McGuillicutty's neck on the top rope. Back in the ring, he hits the Roughrider Leg Lariat and that's it.

Winner via pinfall: Zack Ryder

Backstage, LayCool sends Kaval off for his match. Then McCool questions Layla and asks her if there's something between her and Kaval. She says he's cute. Then they close their eyes and imagine his voice. Layla takes off before McCool opens her eyes and Husky Harris walks by. He asks McCool if she believes in love at first sight or if he should walk by again. She suggest he does that.

Match #2 - Husky Harris (Brooksville, Fla.) vs. Kaval (Brooklyn, NY)

Harris ragdolls Kaval in the early going, including a particularly painful-looking avalanche. But Kaval gets hope with a rolling heel kick. Kaval bleeding from the mouth as he gets rolling. Kaval misses a springboard but gets hit with a uranage for two. He goes for it again but Kaval counters with a DDT. He goes to the top and hits the Warrior's Way and that's it.

Winner via pinfall: Kaval

Match #3 - Alex Riley (Georgetown, Va.) vs. Kofi Kingston (Ghana, West Africa)

Boom Drop connects for Kingston. He then hits Trouble in Paradise and that's it. Quick match.

Winner via pinfall: Kofi Kingston

Well, it's time to find out who's going home. Again, instead of showing the poll, they just show the eliminated rookie. It's Husky Harris.

Cody Rhodes is very upset. He runs down all the other pros and the rookies. He gets to Kaval and hits him. Rhodes and Harris beat down Kaval when Kingston and MVP make the save. It's all all-out brawl. The Pros chase Rhodes away and MVP and Kingston grab Harris and throw him into the barricade. Then Kaval comes off the top with a kick. Hysteria all around.
