WWE NXT: McGuillicutty gains immunity
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on WWE NXT: With one week to go until the next NXT Poll, all the rookies are out to impress. Tonight, we have the NXT Obstacle Course in which one rookie will gain immunity. Should be a good one!

And we are "LIVE!" from Little Rock, Ark. Michael Cole and Josh Mathews are our commentators and Matt Striker is our host. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG,V).

It's time for The VIP Lounge with MVP. His guest tonight is "Showtime" Percy Watson. He says what Watson did last week took initiative. He wanted to smash Watson's glasses on his face, but after thinking about it, he realized they are a lot alike.

Watson says he went about it the wrong way and apologizes. MVP says since he's sincere, it's water under the bridge.

Then Matt Striker comes out and he tells MVP to tell people why Watson should be ranked in the poll next week. MVP gives his statement, then Watson starts and Striker cuts him off. This brings out "Dashing" Cody Rhodes and Husky Harris. They talk about Harris and then Striker says they're in action next.

Match #1 - MVP (Miami, Fla.) & Percy Watson (Miami, Fla.) vs. Cody Rhodes (Marietta, Ga.) & Husky Harris (Brooksville, Fla.)

Harris and Rhodes take control on Watson. Watson dropkicks Harris out of the ring and then all four men get into it on the outside.

We're back and Watson is working on Rhodes but eats a back elbow. Harris in now, but Watson gets going and both men tag their pros. MVP on fire. Facebuster connects followed by the Ballin' Elbow. Harris distracts MVP, though, and Rhodes plasters him in the face with a kick. He brings in Harris, who hits the flying senton and pins MVP.

Winners via pinfall: Cody Rhodes & Husky Harris

Match #2 - Alex Riley (Georgetown, Va.) vs. Lucky Cannon (New Port Richey, Fla.)

Riley wins a very quick match with the TKO.

Winner via pinfall: Alex Riley

After the match, Miz teases laying out Cannon and leaves. Then he comes back and gives him the Skull-Crushing Finale on the briefcase.

Time for John Morrison and Eli Cottonwood to cut promos. They say nothing. Cottonwood intimidates Striker. Next up is Laycool and Kaval. Kaval says if people want to see him go against the likes of Evan Bourne, Randy Orton or Rey Mysterio, they should vote for him.

Kofi Kingston and Michael McGuillicutty cut their promos. McGuillicutty emphasizes his perfect record.

Now it's time for the NXT Obstacle Course with the winner gaining immunity in next week's poll.

McGuillicutty comes in at 26.7 seconds. Alex Riley is next. He finishes at 40.3 seconds. Eli Cottonwood is next. He's disqualified for not going back when they told him to for not completing a task correctly. Lucky Cannon finishes at 28.2.

Kaval comes in and races through it but is slowed on pushing the case up the ramp and finishes at 29.1. Percy Watson finishes at 31.5. The last rookie is Husky Harris. Instead of jumping the largest hurdle, he takes a 3-point stance and knocks it over. He finishes at 50.3 seconds.

So that means McGuillicutty is your winner and has some unneeded immunity.
