Impact: Strong show leads to Victory Road
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling
Tonight on TNA Impact: With Sunday's four-way match at Victory Road looming, two of the participants in the match, Mr. Anderson and Jeff Hardy, meet in the evening's main event. Of course, the other two participants, Abyss and champion Rob Van Dam, get involved before the show ends. Should be a good one!
As always, tonight's taped show emanates from the Impact Zone in Orlando, Fla. "The Professor" Mike Tenay and The Tazz are our hosts.
Mr. Anderson is out with a steel chair. He immediately brings out Jeff Hardy. He claims he didn't intentionally hit Hardy with a chair last week, and if he did do it intentionally, he would be bragging about it. He says the chair will be coming to the ring with him later tonight.
Match #1 - Kazarian (Anaheim, Calif.) vs. AJ Styles (Gainesville, Ga.)
AJ comes right down to the ring and is attacking Kazarian being his pyro is even done.
Kazarian gains control and locks in a headlock when Ric Flair comes out. Styles with a kick and a spinning neckbreaker. Now AJ's in control. Backbreaker connects. He goes for the Styles Clash but Kazarian escapes. He hits another backbreaker. Kazarian counts a move and hits a slingshot legdrop for two. Kazarian puts Styles to the top and tries a superplex but gets shoved down. Styles hits the Pele. Styles on the apron, he swings and misses with a punch and Kazarian slingshots over the rope, grabbing AJ's face and slamming it onto the apron. Both men on the outside brawling where they eventually are counted out of the ring.
This match is a double countout
They got right back into the ring at the count of 10 and Styles calls Kazarian stupid and they start brawling again until Ric Flair grabs a mic. He gets in the ring as they continue to brawl. He breaks them up and tells them to quit dicking around. Flair says they have a match at Victory Road (together) and they better bring it and win. He doesn't reveal their opponents, however.
Match #2 - Angelina Love (Toronto, Ontario) vs. Daffney (Sybil, Texas)
Love quickly finishes Daffney.
Winner via pinfall: Angelina Love
Love grabs the mic and says Sunday she will become the first four-time Knockouts Champion at Victory Road. Then Madison Rayne comes out and says that Love has underestimated her. She asks Love what she is risking Sunday. She suggests that Love puts her career and Love accepts quickly. But she says she met with the Championship Committee and if Velvet Sky or Lacey Von Erich interfere in the match, Rayne will be disqualified and lose the title.
Brother Devon is in the ring with Ink Inc. He asks Brother Ray to come to the ring to straighten everything out. Ray stops on the ramp. Devon cuts the same promo he's been doing. He wants to know what Ray has been doing. Ray then says he's the leader of Team 3D and that Devon answers to him. He calls Jesse Neal a punk and says Devon is a disrespectful partner. Devon says he's loyal to both Ray and Neal. Ray says things are about to get a lot worse. He says at Victory Road, he'll face Neal and Devon in a triple threat match.
Match #3 - Samoa Joe (The Isle of Samoa) vs. Rob Van Dam (Battle Creek, Mich.)
Joe goes for the Muscle Buster early but can't get it, so he just pushes RVD to the floor. Joe hits a suicide dive. Then Tommy Dreamer, Rhino, Raven and Stevie Richards enter the stands. RVD gets to a vertical base and propels off the corner (like Bret Hart/Steve Austin from Survivor Series 1996) and pins Joe's shoulders to the mat.
Winner via pinfall: Rob Van Dam
After the match, Joe is upset, so he gives the Muscle Buster to the referee.
Match #4 - Ladder Match - Douglas Williams (The United Kingdom) vs. Jeremy Buck (Southern California)
This is a ladder match with the X hanging as the prize.
The story here is that Williams is afraid of heights so he is apprehensive when climbing the ladder, despite it being only a few feet high than the top turnbuckle.
Buck gets going and hits a facebuster onto the ladder. He sets the ladder up and tries to climb, but Williams comes up from behind with an electric chair. Buck is on the floor. Williams starts climbing but Buck goes from the top rope to the ladder and power bombs Williams off the ladder. Buck goes to climb and kicks Williams to knock him back down and grabs the X.

Hardy with Whisper in the Wind but Anderson gains control and hits the rolling senton. Anderson goes for the Swanton Bomb but misses and Hardy hit the Twist of Fate and that's it.
Winner via pinfall: Jeff Hardy
Hardy checks in Anderson when Abyss hits the ring with the nail-ridden board. The referee is able to wrestle it away from him from behind, which allows Hardy and Anderson to attack. Abyss isn't having any of it, hitting a choke slam on Hardy and hitting a big boot on Anderson. Instead of taking the weapon to the back with him, he left it on the ramp. Abyss grabs it and swings and misses. He hits the turnbuckle and when he goes to get it back, he rips the turnbuckle off. RVD to the ring now. He tries to get going but Abyss just throws him to the floor. Hardy sneaks up from behind. Anderson goes behind Hardy and tells him to move. He hits Abyss with the chair. He staggers. RVD takes it and hits the Van Daminator and that sends Abyss out of the ring.
