Impact: Styles steals a win heading into Sacrifice
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on TNA Impact: In the company's return to Thursday night, TNA Management has a big main event set up to help preview Sunday's Sacrifice pay-per-view as TNA World Heavyweight Champion Rob Van Dam meets his Sunday challenger AJ Styles and Jeff Hardy in a triple threat match. Should be a good one!

As always, tonight's taped show emanates from the Impact Zone in Orlando, Fla. "The Professor" Mike Tenay and The Tazz are our hosts.

Eric Bischoff is out to the ring to start the show. He's out to introduce the TNA World Heavyweight Champion "Mr. TNA" Rob Van Dam. Bischoff says tonight, RVD will face Jeff Hardy, but they can't find him, so he has no other choice but to give him the night off. The crowd boos and RVD takes the mic and says the best part of being champion is defending the title and prove he's the best. Then he's interrupted by the former champion and his opponent Sunday, AJ Styles.

Styles says it's good RVD wants to wrestle because he's in the mood to hurt somebody. He says he is TNA and TNA is AJ Styles and that the fans didn't come to see "some Cheech and Chong sideshow." Styles says he wants RVD tonight and he's going break his legs because at Sacrifice, he doesn't plan on breaking a sweat when he takes his title back.

Then Hardy's music hits and he is here. He proposes that they make it a three-way match. Styles says no but RVD tells Bischoff to make the match.

Jeremy Borash is backstage with The Beautiful People. Madison Rayne says she'll prove to everyone that she deserves the title. Then Lacey Von Erich cuts Velvet off and runs away saying she has to pee. Ummm, what?

Match #1 - Taylor Wilde (Toronto, Ontario) vs. Tara (State of California)

This is a short affair that Tara takes after kicking Wilde in the gut as she is coming off the ropes.

Winner via pinfall: Tara

Tara goes crazy after the match, beating the tar out of Wilde with her knee brace before Sarita, who was sent to the back prior, makes the save.

There's chaos backstage as Chelsea has been attacked. Desmond Wolfe is trying to get the camera out.

More dealings with Chelsea as we come back. Intrepid reporter Christy Hemme is backstage. She says that Chelsea alleges that she was attacked in an undisclosed location.

Match #2 - Brian Kendrick (Malibu, Calif.) vs. Douglas Williams (The United Kingdom)

Williams cuts a promo on Kendrick and says he hasn't seen him win a match, so this is a non-title match, despite Williams not be the X-Division Champion.

Kendrick gets rolling and Williams bails out, and it pays off, as Williams takes control. But he gets distracted when Kazarian walks to the ring to take the title. Kendrick takes advantage and rolls him up for the fall.

Winner via pinfall: Brian Kendrick

Christy is backstage and she knows the name of Chelsea's alleged attacker but she cannot release the name until police step in.

Match #3 - Handicap Match - Generation Me (Los Angeles, Calif.) vs. Matt Morgan (Fairfield, Conn.)

Morgan immediately turns them both inside out with clotheslines. He hits a Carbon Footprint and then grabs a mic with both of them laid out. He yells to Hulk Hogan and is about to destroy the Bucks some more when Samoa Joe comes out.

Joe goes up to Morgan and hits the Musclebuster.

This match is a no contest?

With Morgan down in a heap, The Band makes their way to the ring. Kevin Nash has his Feast or Fired TNA Tag Team Championship shot with him.

Match #4 - TNA Tag Team Championship — (c) Matt Morgan (Fairfield, Conn.) vs. Kevin Nash (Detroit, Mich.) & Scott Hall (Miami, Fla.)

Nash pins the lifeless Morgan.

Winners via pinfall and NEW TNA Tag Team Champions: Kevin Nash & Scott Hall

Tenay barely spits out a sentence about the win before we go to…

Match #5 - Ink Inc. vs. Beer Money vs. Team 3D (New York City) vs. Motor City Machine Guns (Detroit, Mich.)

Sabin hits a suicide dive on Storm. He's rolled back into the ring for two but Storm quickly goes on the offense.

Moore is sent to the outside by Roode and is taken apart by Storm. Beer Money double-team back-elbows. Crowd chanting for Neal as Moore gets picked apart. Moore hits a bulldog on Storm and both men make the tag. Neal in running wild. He takes out the Guns and things start breaking down, and in a big, big way. It ends up with Neal in there with Team 3D. They hit a Doomsday Device on him but Moore makes the save. Neal breaks up a move and Bubba slaps him. But Moore takes advantage, hitting a Mooregasm followed by a Neal spear for the win.

Winners via pinfall: Ink Inc.

Match #6 - TNA Global Championship - (c) Rob Terry (Cardiff, Wales) vs. Abyss (Parts Unknown)

Abyss doesn't come out and he is being hauled away by the 5-0 while proclaiming his innocence and asking for Dixie and Hulk. The inference here is that he is the one that assaulted (allegedly) Chelsea.

As the cops are loading him up, Wolfe comes out and attacks him but is eventually held off by cops and agents.

Terry is just standing in the ring when he is attacked from behind by Orlando Jordan. Jordan hits a low blow that he hangs on to. He goes to the outside and grabs a metal pipe and cracks Terry in the back with it.

Jordan is still in the ring. He's got a mic. He says he is the TNA Wild Card. He says he's issuing an open challenge. If they want him out of the ring, they've got to kick him out.

Match #6 - Orlando Jordan (Miami, Fla.) vs. Tomko (Jacksonville, Fla.)

What?

Fallaway slam connects for Tomko, but his offense is short-lived as Jordan takes control. He lands a kick to the back and locks in a chinlock. Tomko gets out and gets rolling, hitting a clothesline for two. Jordan reverses a slam attempt with a throat chop and hits a backcracker for two. Tomko goes to pick Jordan up again but Jordan locks in a guillotine choke and the referee calls a stop to the match.

Winner via technical submission: Orlando Jordan

Hogan is backstage when Von Erich comes up and tells him to watch something on her cell phone. He does.

Bischoff is backstage with Tara. He says she will wrestle again because her attitude has been terrible lately and she will meet Sarita.

Match #7 - Sarita (Mexico City, Mexico) vs. Tara (State of California)

Sarita meets Tara on the ramp and starts beating her up pretty well. They get into the ring and the bell rings. Sarita to the top and she rolls through the charging Tara and starts going to town again. Now Tara is begging off. Sarita with a slingshot splash. Now she tries to tear the knee brace off while Tara holds the ropes. Referee Slick Johnson tries to pull her back but Sarita elbows him in the chops. With both distracted, Tara leans back and clocks Sarita with the knee brace for the fall.

Winner via pinfall: Tara

Match #8 - Jeff Hardy (Cameron, NC) vs. AJ Styles (Gainesville, Ga.) vs. Rob Van Dam (Battle Creek, Mich.)

It's a match chock full of suplexes and neckbreakers in the early going. Styles whips RVD into Hardy and hits a splash on Hardy. Styles chop blocks RVD and calls for the Figure Four and he's got it. RVD struggles and hangs on long enough for Hardy to hit the double leg drop. Hardy goes to the top but Styles jumps to his feet and knocks Hardy to the floor where Mr. Anderson comes out and clotheslines him.

In the ring, RVD accidentally drills the ref. RVD starts to go for Rolling Thunder but comes to Hardy's aid. Styles hits a flip dive onto all three men with Hardy and Anderson getting the worst of it. Styles lays Van Dam out with a DDT on the floor. He rolls him into the ring and uses the ropes to get the three count.

Winner via pinfall: AJ Styles

After the match, Hardy calls Anderson back to the ring and he declines until Hogan comes out. Anderson goes to attack Hogan but it is blocked and Hogan returns fire, sending Anderson right into Hardy.

We come back and each man is getting some shots in until Hardy puts Anderson through a table.

We now see Lacey's footage that shows Wolfe and Chelsea conspiring to set up Abyss.
