Live Blog - 2010 WWE Draft Coverage
By JON WALDMAN and GREG OLIVER -- SLAM! Wrestling

We're live for the WWE Draft. Keep clicking back for instant analysis from Jon and Greg.

Pick #1 - To Smackdown: Kelly Kelly

Jon: Well, I hate to tell you I told you so, but I told you so. Great move for Kelly. Hopefully she has enough tools to become a player on Smackdown.

Greg: Kelly Kelly is not exactly the greatest talent on the roster, but given how interchangeable the divas are, it's an inconsequential move. But she'll get more screen time on Smackdown.

I really hate how the announcers have to play it up, how it's so exciting. Whatever. It's a storyline. Why does it matter that Kelly Kelly switches?

There's no rhyme or reason to why people are moving. There's not a GM even making the picks.

Jon: When have GM's ever mattered? There hasn't been an effective authority figure since Jack Tunney.

Oh and just because I can say it -- Bruins are on to the next round!

Pick #2 - To Smackdown: Big Show

Jon: Wait, wait wait. Wasn't Show on Smackdown before the Draft? Blecch.

Greg:Huh. Guess he'll be battling Kane again? Big Show has always been an awkward fit on whatever show he was on, just by virtue of his size. The recent use of him as a tag team champion on both programs has actually worked well, and played to his advantage.

Jon: Three draft picks in one shot? Why?

GREAT end of the Battle Royal by DiBiase Jr. and Rey Jr. Good chemistry between the two. I want to see more from them.

Picks #3, 4 and 5 - To Raw: John Morrison, R-Truth and Edge

Jon: Two more of my pre-show picks switch brands, and like the prospects of some of the bouts we'll see now that Edge is on Raw. I think Edge will end up turning heel, while Truth... I guess he'll be getting a mini push before being shuffled down the card. I'm really disappointed in Morrison's move though. With the switches we're seeing, he could have easily stayed on Smackdown and had a decent feud with Swagger. Maybe the champs will switch still...

Greg: Morrison was one of my picks, and it makes sense. Morrison needs to prove that he is a main eventer, and to prove that, he needs to be on the main event program. Of course, on the "A" show, there's the glass ceiling known as being friends with Triple H.

Truth's move freshens him up a bit, but in the end, it'll have little impact. Unless, and this is a big unless, they turn him into a vicious heel. That would be something new and different.

I'm not surprised by Edge moving, but what does it mean -- will Edge be a face or a heel on the new show? I suspect he'll be a good guy for a little while, but given his history with guys like Cena, it's inevitable he'll be evil again one day.

Pick #6 - To Smackdown: Kofi Kingston

Jon: I liked this pick when I called it (I'm batting .500 now. Just saying...) and I love it even more with the sudden angle we're getting with Chris Jericho. Great match by the way.

Greg: I'm torn on this one. He was an excellent face on Raw, and fresh as well. Moving him might give him the opportunity to move further up the proverbial ladder, or it might bury him in the meaninglessness that sometimes is Smackdown -- or at least the perception of it. Kingston has nothing but an upside, and hopefully this just adds to his potential.

Pick #7 - To Smackdown: Christian

Jon: I'm a bit surprised but I like this pick. Christian has a lot of room to work on Smackdown and there's some really good potential here.

Greg: I was always surprised that he ended up on Raw after ECW went kaput anyway. Smackdown will be a better fit for him, and no doubt he's headed for some sort of battle or teaming with Chris Jericho.

Pick #8 (Final pick of the night) - To Raw: Chris Jericho

Jon: ... The hell? Bad, bad move by WWE. Jericho should really have stayed on Smackdown. I get that Raw needs more heels but this just doesn't make any sense to me.

Greg: This one surprised me, actually, especially given who had already moved. Jericho is probably the best talker in the company, with The Miz coming on fast.

Stay tuned to SLAM! Wrestling for Dale Plummer's analysis in his Raw report, and later in the week SLAM! Wrestling will provide coverage of the 2010 WWE Supplemental Draft.
