WWE NXT: Flowers, rainbows, cereal
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on WWE NXT: Time is ticking until one of the rookies is shown the door. That makes each passing week more important than the last. Tonight, three rookies compete with varying levels of success. But before they wrestle, they have to cut a promo on a random topic. Should be a good one!

And we are "LIVE!" from London, England. Michael Cole and Josh Mathews are our commentators. Matt Striker is our host. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG, V)

Striker is in the ring and he brings out the rookies.

Striker talks to various rookies. The crowd starts a "You tapped out" chant at Otunga. Striker says last week they tested their physical abilities. This week, they will test their promo abilities. What's on the line: Getting their very own entrance theme. Striker will give each rookie a card with a topic on it. They will each have 30 seconds to cut their promo. The crowd will judge the winner.

Among the topics: Passion, flowers, cereal and rainbows. It's declared a toss-up between Skip Sheffield and Wade Barrett. Striker decides they will have a talk-off. Sheffield gets bubblegum. He goes off track. Barrett gets wind. He talks about winds of change and how he is going to be the first British WWE Heavyweight Champion. Barrett is the runaway winner. Barrett wins the entrance theme.

Darren Young is backstage with the Straight Edge Society talking about his decision to not join the SES last week. Punk said it took guts to not join. So Punk books Young against Luke Gallows. If Young wins, last week's transgressions are forgiven. If Gallows win, they shave Young's head tonight.

Match #1 - Wade Barrett (Manchester, England) vs. Christian (Toronto, Ontario)

Christian gets going, hitting a flying crossbody. But Barrett comes back and hits a big boot to the face for two. Barrett comes charging into the corner but Christian moves and hits the pendulum kick. He follows up with the flying European uppercut. Jericho distracts Christian and Barrett grabs him for his finish, but Heath Slater grabs Barrett's feet, allowing Christian to slip out and hit the Killswitch.

Winner via pinfall: Christian

Backstage, The Miz is backstage with Daniel Bryan. He says Bryan is the Susan Boyle of WWE. All the talent, but no star power. Miz claims the only reason Bryan was No. 1 was because of him. Miz gets all up in his face and tells him to take some of his charisma and star power to go out there and win.

Match #2 - Daniel Bryan (Aberdeen, Wash.) vs. William Regal (Blackpool, England)

Bryan on fire early. Going to work on Regal with a full nelson suplex and a series of kicks in the corner. He locks in a guillotine choke but Regal throws him out and pins him.

Winner via pinfall: William Regal

The Miz attacks Regal after the match, sending him out of the ring. He helps Bryan up then gives him the Skull-Crushing Finale.

Match #3 - Darren Young (Miami, Fla.) vs. Luke Gallows (Parts Unknown)

Gallows immediately goes to work on Young. He hits a fallaway slam and continues to kill Young. Gallows puts Young on his shoulders to finish him off but Young slips out and rolls him to keep his hair.

Winner via pinfall: Darren Young

Punk comes in and walks Young down and raises his hand. Punk, Serena and Young walk off and leave Gallows in the ring.
