Smackdown: Spear, spear, spear
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on Friday Night Smackdown: On a night with three Money in the Bank Qualifiers, Edge wrestled his second match since coming back from injury, taking on The Miz. Elsewhere, a new champion was crowned. Should be a good one!

And we are TAPED! from Milwaukee, Wisc. Todd Grisham and Matt Striker are our hosts. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG,V).

We are welcomed by the new World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho, who will face Edge for the title at WrestleMania.

Jericho says Monday was supposed to be his victory party. But it didn't happen because it was taken away by Edge. As Jericho is saying he didn't deserve it, Edge's music hits and he makes his way to the ring.

Edge says he has to congratulate Jericho. Jericho says he is the best in the world at what he does. Edge responds by saying he's the best in the world at getting speared by Edge. I thought that was Lita.

Edge says he wants Jericho to be his best at Mania. Jericho says Edge will never spear him again and punches him. He goes for the Codebreaker but Edge hangs on to the ropes and then spears Jericho.

Match #1 - Money in the Bank Qualifier - John Morrison (Los Angeles, Calif.) vs. Dolph Ziggler (Hollywood, Fla.) vs. R-Truth (Charlotte, N.C.)

After getting beat on early, Ziggler takes control on Truth with Morrison hurt on the outside.

But that changes with Morrison back in the mix. All three start going at it. Truth hits the lie detector on Morrison but Ziggler makes the save. Truth powders out and Morrison and Ziggler battle on the top rope. Then Truth comes back into the picture and they all battle. Truth drills Ziggler to the floor and Morrison hits a sunset flip power bomb on Truth. Morrison follows up with Starship Pain but Ziggler pulls Morrison to the outside and steals the pin.

Winner via pinfall: Dolph Ziggler

Match #2 - WWE Women's Championship - (c) Mickie James (Richmond, Va. vs. Michelle McCool (Palatka, Fla.)

Vickie Guerrero is your special guest referee for this contest.

Mickie hits a reverse neckbreaker but Layla jumps on the apron and distracts Guerrero. Mickie throws McCool to the outside and hits a sliding dropkick and a leg scissors. Layla distracts Mickie on the outside, eating a boot, but it allows McCool to pull James off the apron. McCool rolls James into the ring and pounds her head into the mat.

McCool taking over but James fires up out of the corner briefly until McCool boots her. James reverses McCool and starts in with punches but McCool grabs her and hits a belly-to-belly throw. Guerrero comes over to count the cover but falls through the ropes and hits her backside. Layla comes over and starts patting Vickie on the behind to make it better. McCool looks to the outside and is rolled up by James. Guerrero struggles to make it in but when she does, she slaps James. Mickie yells at Guerrero and the distraction is enough to allow McCool to kick Mickie in the head for the fall.

Winner via pinfall and NEW WWE Women's Champion: Michelle McCool

Match #3 - Money in the Bank Qualifier - Kane (Hell, Fire & Brimstone) vs. Drew McIntyre (Ayr, Scotland)

McIntyre cuts a promo before the match about how he is still undefeated. You know what that means...

McIntyre works the neck but Kane is able to get out. Kane goes to the top rope for the clothesline but McIntyre moves. Kane goes for the chokeslam but McIntyre elbows out but then runs into a big boot. McIntyre goes for the DDT but Kane gets out and boots McIntyre in the face and gets the pin.

Winner via pinfall: Kane

And just like that, Drew McIntyre loses for the first time. To Kane. Via boot the head.

We are now joined by The Miz. He says he and The Big Show don't even have a match for WrestleMania yet. He finishes his promo and Smackdown General Manager Theodore Long comes out and books Miz in a match with Edge for the main event.

Match #4 - Money in the Bank Qualifier - CM Punk (Chicago, Ill.) vs. Shelton Benjamin (Orangeburg, S.C.)

Punk hits a big kick for two. Benjamin is reeling. Running knee in the corner connects but Punk cannot finish the bulldog. Luke Gallows gets on the apron and distracts Benjamin, allowing Punk to kick Benjamin in the knee. But then Rey Mysterio pulls Gallows off the apron. This distraction allows Benjamin to hit Paydirt.

Winner via pinfall: Shelton Benjamin

Match #5 - Edge (Toronto, Ontario) vs. The Miz (Cleveland, Ohio)

Miz locks in a Level 4 Randy Orton Chinlock on Edge. He's really cranking it. Miz hits a knee to the back of Edge's head, sending his face into the second turnbuckle. Edge is reeling. He hits the running-corner clothesline. Miz goes to the top and goes for a double-axhandle but Edge turns it into a flapjack. Both men are down. Side Russian leg sweep for Edge. Then he hits a real big boot that sends Miz flying. Clotheslines for Edge.

He goes for the Edgecution but Miz reverses into a reverse DDT for two. Miz lines up Edge for the Skull-Crushing Finale but Edge senses it and hits the Edgecution. Crowd chants for the spear and they get it and that's it.

Winner via pinfall: Edge
