ECW: Beginning of the end
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on ECW on Syfy: So begins the burial of the Land of Extreme. This week's edition of the show is here to set up next week, where there will be not one, but two title matches. Tonight, though, there's a No Count Out, No Disqualification Match between Shelton Benjamin and Vance Archer. Should be a good one?

The ECW roster is backstage when Tiffany comes up to address them. She says it's a great thing that ECW is going off the air because everyone will be free agents and can sign wherever they want. She says seize the day and have fun and then puts on Mardi Gras beads and picks up a drink. Zack Ryder says they own got two weeks left and she's just gonna party? And in Tiffany's best line ever, she tells Ryder, "Woo woo woo, you know it!"

And we are "LIVE!" from Baton Rouge, La. Josh Mathews and Byron Saxton are our hosts. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG,V).

Match #1 - No. 1 Contender Match For Unified Tag Team Championship - Yoshi Tatsu (Tokyo, Japan) & Goldust (Hollywood, Calif.) vs. Trent Barreta (Mount Sinai, N.Y.) & Caylen Croft (Youngstown, Ohio)

The winners will meet The Miz and The Big Show next week on the final edition of ECW next week.

Barreta and Croft isolate Goldust after chop blocking his left leg. They are getting very cocky now. More quick tags and working on the knee. Goldust finally shoves Barreta away but quickly recovers. Barreta hits Tatsu and Goldust finally makes it to the corner but Tatsu isn't there.

Goldust finally is able to get to Tatsu. He goes wild on Croft. Croft feeling the kicks of Tatsu. Spinning wheel kick off the top for Tatsu but Barreta makes the save. Goldust chases Barreta away and Tatsu drills Croft with the high kick and that's it.

Match #2 - Ezekiel Jackson (Harlem, N.Y.) vs. Perry Wallace (Baton Rouge, La.)

Oh, this poor guy.

Jackson squash.

Winner via pinfall; Ezekiel Jackson

Regal cuts a promo on Tiffany and asks her to do the right thing and grant Jackson a rematch for the ECW Championship. Jackson says being the final ECW Champion will only be the beginning of his dominance.

Christian is backstage and accepts Jackson's challenge. He says for the final episode of ECW they should do it like only ECW can extreme rules.

Match #3 - No Count Out, No Disqualification Match - Shelton Benjamin (Orangeburg, S.C.) vs. Vance Archer (Dallas, Texas)

If Christian hadn't asked for an extreme rules match next week, I would've called calling this a "No Count Out, No Disqualification Match" a complete and final burial of ECW.

Benjamin cuts a promo of no importance and instead of chanting "What?" the fans in Louisana chant "Who dat!"

They brawl outside. We've got chairs, kendo sticks and a tramp stamp.

Shelton is cut on the head and referee Scott Armstrong calls for the doctor to take care of the bleeding. It's a very, very light cut, to the point where almost nothing is coming out. The doc puts on his gloves and puts some stuff on it and we continue. I mean, there was next to no blood coming out of this thing. They are serious about this no blood thing.

Archer takes off the buckle pad and runs Benjamin's arm into it. Archer works the arm. Benjamin fires up and hits a belly-to-belly and goes for the Stinger Splash. Archer moves but Benjamin hits a neckbreaker off the second rope and follows that up with Paydirt.

Winner via pinfall; Shelton Benjamin
