Smackdown: Mysterio calls out Undertaker
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on Friday Night Smackdown: With the Royal Rumble just nine days away, newly minted No. 1 contender Rey Mysterio is committed to calling out his opponent, the World Heavyweight Champion, The Undertaker. Should be a good one!

And we are TAPED! from Greenville "By God", S.C. Todd Grisham and Matt Striker are our hosts. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG,V).

Match #1 - Batista (Washington, DC) vs. Finlay (Belfast, Northern Ireland)

I feel sorry for Finlay because I can't imagine Batista is too happy following last week's steel cage match loss to Rey Mysterio.

They go back-and-forth and Finlay kicks Batista outside. Then Batista mauls Finlay, digging his fingers in Finlay's face. He doesn't break and the referee hits the five count.

Winner via disqualification: Finlay

But Batista isn't done. He whips Finlay onto the announce table. As Finlay gets up, he spears him on the floor. He follows up by ramming him into the barricade then back-first into the post twice. Then into the steps. He rolls the lifeless Finlay into the ring where he delivers a spinebuster.

Now Big Dave has the mic. He says to imagine that times 29 because that's what's going to happen at the Rumble. He says he's getting his title back one way or another.

CM Punk and Luke Gallows are out next. Punk is looking more disgusting than ever. It's great. He says he and Gallows will bring honour and respect to the Unified Tag Team Championship when they beat DX next week.

He talks about his Royal Rumble aspiration and how awful the fans are and asks who in the crowd wants to be saved. Then a woman runs out of the crowd and runs around the ring and goes to Punk. They call for security but she is yelling that she needs him. Punk changes his tune and has Gallows go get her.

Her name is Serena and she is an addict. Punk says he can tell she's been taking steps toward sobriety. He asks her one question: Is she ready to pledge allegiance to him and his Straight Edge Society? She says she's ready.

Punk asks her to sit down and they recite the Straight Edge Pledge of Allegiance. She says she is ready to devote herself to him not just in words. So Punk gets the clippers and starts shaving her head. She's going to have to get back into the tanning bed. The shaving is complete and he hugs her.

Match #2 - Drew McIntyre (Eyr, Scotland) & Chris Jericho (Winnipeg, Manitoba) vs. John Morrison (Los Angeles, Calif.)

Smackdown General Manager Theodore Long's music hits and he tells the referee not to ring the bell quite yet. He says Vickie Guerrero did not consult with him before making the match, so he's making a little change.

Match #2 - Drew McIntyre (Eyr, Scotland) & Chris Jericho (Winnipeg, Manitoba) vs. John Morrison (Los Angeles, Calif.) & R-Truth (Charlotte, N.C.)

The heels isolate Morrison but he is able to reverse McIntyre and hit a DDT. Both men are down. Both men get the tag. Truth comes in the proverbial house of fire. Truth hits a big boot but McIntyre breaks up the pin. Morrison takes him out but Jericho shoves Morrison out of the ring. Truth sneaks up and rolls up him for two but Jericho kicks out. With the referee distracted by McIntyre, Morrison drills Jericho with a kick and Truth follows with a scissors kick for the fall.

Winners via pinfall: R-Truth & John Morrison

Michelle McCool and Layla are out with a table of food behind them. They have an assortment of pig-related foods on the table. They are interrupted by Maria.

Maria says they are annyoing. Maria gets in their faces before Mickie James comes out. She says she's getting sick and tired of their crap. She cuts a feel-good promo. She says it's time she embarrassed them. She socks Layla and it's a pier-six brawl. Beth Phoenix comes running in and she attacks Maria, throwing her into the post. And then she goes after James, tying her up. McCool says it's feeding time. McCool takes the pig cake and shoves it in her face. She follows that up with throwing the bowl of punch on her.

Match #3 - Cryme Tyme (Brooklyn, N.Y.) vs. Mike Knox (Phoenix, Ariz.) & Charlie Haas (Dallas, Texas)

Charlie Haas returns! But they don't even get an entrance.

This one doesn't last long before Kane's pyro blows and he heads to the ring and destroys everyone.

No contest

Match #4 - The Great Khali (India) & Matt Hardy (Cameron, N.C.) vs. Tyson Kidd & David Hart Smith (Calgary, Alberta)

Early on, Natalya approaches Khali and is flirting with him. He hops off the apron and she tries to lure him away from the ring. In the ring, her team is going for the Hart Attack but Hardy shoves Smith into Kidd and rolls up Smith for the fall.

Winners via pinfall: Matt Hardy & The Great Khali

Rey Mysterio is here and he's calling out The Undertaker in anticipation of their World Heavyweight Championship match at the Royal Rumble. The Dead Man makes his way out.

Mysterio says he will defeat Undertaker at the Rumble. Taker says those are bold words, little man. He says Mysterio is digging his own grave. And at the Rumble, Mysterio will Rest. In. Peace.

Taker makes his way up the aisle and Mysterio grabs the mic and says he is not like the rest when he is attacked from behind by Batista. He eats a Batista Bomb. Taker walks back to the ring but Batista takes off through the crowd.
