JTG says Tribute to the Troops a great Tyme

As the WWE prepares for its annual Tribute to the Troops show later this month, Cryme Tyme member JTG is already feeling the spirit of the season.

JTG had the privilege of working last year's show and since then, he couldn't wait to do it again.

"Everyone looks forward to this all year," he said. "We all get a call, asking us if we want to go and everybody wants to. I had a lot of fun last year."

One of JTG's fondest memories is getting the opportunity to get to know the soldiers, hearing their stories and of course just having an all around great time.

"It's hard to pick any one story in particular that sticks out," he said. "I really enjoy just conversing with them. Everybody I've talked to over there just wants to come home."

JTG just recently celebrated his 25th birthday and can't think of a better way to spend it, then by entertaining the troops in Afghanistan.

"The first time I went down there, I didn't know what to expect. Everybody hated actually going there, because we had to take a plane from D.C. to Germany and then fly over to Afghanistan," he said. "But once we actually got there, everyone had a great time. We had fun, entertaining our soldiers and conversing with them. We got to shoot some of the guns too, which was fun."

The relationship between the WWE and the military continues to grow, and JTG's just happy to be a part of it. He certainly loves entertaining fans all year round, but this show in particular makes him proud to be a WWE superstar.

"I think they (the troops) appreciate us being there as much as we appreciate being there and entertaining them. They've all been through so much and we just want to let them know that we appreciate what they're doing for our country," he said. "At the end of our stay last year, we all got to take home coins as souvenirs."

JTG is certainly excited on behalf of himself, the troops and the WWE, and is looking forward to another great show and another great year.

The Tribute to the Troops show airs on Saturday, December 19 at 9 p.m. ET on NBC. Be sure to check your local listings for further details.
