ECW: Christian, Benjamin climb the ladder
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on ECW on Syfy: It's the final show leading up to Tables, Ladders and Chairs and so far Christian and Shelton Benjamin have been pretty buddy-buddy over their impending ladder match for the ECW Championship. But by the end of the show, it gets pretty fierce. Should be a good one!

And we are "LIVE!" from Houston, Texas. Josh Mathews and Byron Saxton are our hosts. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG,V).

Mathews is in the ring talking about the ECW main event at TLC between Christian and Shelton Benjamin but is interrupted by Kozlov.

Kozlov calls out Ezekiel Jackson to fight him like a man. After a few seconds, Jackson comes jogging out to the ring. William Regal comes out and immediately tries to break the up. He's having trouble but finally gets them apart, saying they have to stay together.

Shelton Benjamin's music hits and he implores the crowd to chant "let them fight." Regal says it has nothing to do with Benjamin. And if he didn't notice, there's three of them and one of him. Then Christian's music hits and he and Yoshi Tatsu come out.

Benjamin says those three can continue their group therapy session on the next episode of Dr. Phil or they can man up and face them. Regal says, hey, listen sunshine, you don't have the authority to make that match. Of course, this is Tiffany's cue. And she has the authority. She proposes they can choose either the 6-man tag or Jackson and Kozlov can have a match. Majority rules. Regal says they will take the 6-man. Jackson says he wants Kozlov, meaning Kozlov has the deciding vote. Kozlov takes the 6-man.

Match #1 - Vance Archer (Dallas, Texas) vs. Tommy Dreamer (Yonkers, N.Y.)

Hey, they finally found someone new for Dreamer to lose to.

Dreamer actually goes to the top and hits the most awkward and unathletic "frog splash" of all time. He goes for the DDT but Archer pushes him off and hits a big boot. He follows up with "that move right there," a reverse DDT with leg kick for the pin.

Winner via pinfall: Vance Archer

The Ripper Paul Burchill's alter-ego will meet The Hurricane next week in an effort to earn an ECW contract.

Zack Ryder is feeding a cupcake to Rosa Mendes and they argue about who is sweeter. Dreamer interrupts. Ryder introduces him to Mendes as a dinosaur. Ryder says it's over for Dreamer and if can't see it, maybe he'll make him see it.

Match #2 - Trent Barreta & Caylen Croft (412 pounds) vs. Mark Franks & Danny Vaughn (410 pounds)

Barreta & Croft squash.

Winners via pinfall: Trent Barreta & Caylen Croft

Match #3 - Christian (Toronto, Ontario), Yoshi Tatsu (Tokyo, Japan) & Shelton Benjamin (Orangeburg, S.C.) vs. William Regal (Blackpool, England), Ezekiel Jackson (Harlem, N.Y.) & Kozlov (Moscow, Russia)

After being worked over forever by Kozlov and Regal, Benjamin finally gets the hot tag to Christian but the referee didn't see it due to a distraction by Jackson and Kozlov. But Benjamin finally gets to Tatsu who comes in on fire against Jackson with kicks. He hits Regal on the apron but runs right into big clothesline from Jackson.

Jackson goes to tag Kozlov but Kozlov just hops off the apron and strolls away. Jackson goes after him and hits him with a huge clubbing blow on the ramp. Regal tries to pull him back to the ring but it doesn't work. Jackson tries to go after Kozlov but Regal keeps him away, but they are counted out.

Winners via countout: Christian, Yoshi Tatsu & Shelton Benjamin

Out of nowhere, Benjamin hits a running flip dive over the top rope onto Regal and Jackson. Then Christian and Tatsu go grab the giant ladder out from under the ring. Christian sets it up to go grab his belt, which has been suspended above the ring the entire show. But Benjamin gets up and springboards from the top rope to the ladder and they fight over the belt.
