Impact: Styles and Angle are Bound for Glory
By CHRIS & BRYAN SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

Bound For Glory is just around the corner, but before the stars can head to California, they need to make one more stop in Orlando, FL for a very special three hour edition of Impact. Headlining tonight's card will be current TNA Heavyweight Champion AJ Styles taking on arch rival Kurt Angle. Plus Rhino wages war with Bobby Lashley in a stretcher match and the Knockouts do battle in tag team action.

A package was shown to hype Bound For Glory, followed by the usual TNA Impact opener.

The Main Event Mafia were in the ring, with Kurt Angle in control of the mic. Angle talked about how Bound For Glory would mark the one-year anniversary of the formation of the Mafia. He went on to say that all of the Mafia members were guaranteed to secure victories in their matches and that he would do his part by defeating Matt Morgan. As the Mafia gloated in the ring, AJ Styles' music hit and he appeared on stage with Matt Morgan, Bobby Lashley, Hernandez, Beer Money Inc. and Team 3D. Brother Ray introduced Styles as the TNA Heavyweight Champion, before giving him the mic. Styles confidently talked about taking out the Mafia at Bound For Glory. Matt Morgan took the mic next and asked Styles why they should wait. Styles and company then charged the ring and cleaned house, forcing the Mafia to retreat.

Mike Tenay and Taz pushed AJ Styles vs. Kurt Angle for later on.

Match One - Six Knockout Tag Team Match - The Beautiful People (Madison Rayne, Velvet Sky and Lacey Von Erich) vs. Tara, Awesome Kong and ODB w/ Riesha Saeed

Tara, Awesome Kong and ODB will be competing against each other at Bound For Glory for the TNA Knockouts Championship. The thought of that match caused the team to go after one another, allowing The Beautiful People to get the victory.

Lauren spoke to D'Angelo Dinero in the back, who said that he was taking over the X Division.

Lauren caught up with Bobby Lashley backstage, who was sneak attacked by Rhino with a Gore. Rhino told Lashley that he wasn't going to make it to his match with Samoa Joe at Bound for Glory.

A package was shown highlighting the Ultimate X match.

Match Two - TNA X Division Championship Match - Amazing Red w/ Don West (C) vs. Suicide

Mike Tenay talked about how Homicide was sent home for his attack on the Spanish announce team last week. Suicide had this match at hand, when D'Angelo Dinero ran out and attacked him, leading to a No Contest.

Winner - No Contest

Jeremy Borash interviewed Don West backstage, who talked about promoting The Amazing Red. West said that Red was now entered into the Ultimate X match at Bound For Glory, making it for the TNA X Division Championship.

Eric Young came out to join Mike Tenay and Taz on commentary.

Match Three - Guantlet Match - Hernandez vs. The British Invasion (Brutus Magnus, Doug Williams and Rob Terry)

Hernandez went over to the announce table and threatened Eric Young. Hernandez absolutely squashed The Invasion here, pinning Brutus Magnus, Doug Williams and Rob Terry in succession.

After the match, Eric Young attacked Hernandez with a kendo stick and stood tall with his fellow World Elite members.

Mike Tenay sat with four televisions in front of him. Shots were shown of Robert Roode, Brother Ray, Booker T and Brutus Magnus. They all talked about how they were going to win the Full Metal Mayhem match at Bound For Glory. During their arguing, Tenay jumped in and said their partners were brawling backstage. Abyss eventually walked out, carrying a barbed wire baseball bat. He went to go after Foley, but Dr. Stevie appeared on the TNA Tron with a girl who was tied up. Abyss ran to the back, assuming it was Lauren, as Foley watched on from the ring, while enjoying some popcorn.

Homicide was shown backstage, talking about how he attacked Suicide in his dressing room and took his outfit. He said that he now knows the identity of Suicide, but that would be their little secret. Security came in and grabbed Homicide, escorting him from the Impact Zone.

Mike Tenay and Taz ran down the Bound For Glory card.

Abyss was shown backstage going after a woman he thought was Lauren. It turned out to be Daffney with a blonde wig. Mick Foley and Dr. Stevie then attacked Abyss from behind, as Foley beat him up with a barbed wire baseball bat.

AJ Styles and Kurt Angle entered the Impact Zone for the main event match.

Match Seven - AJ Styles vs. Kurt Angle

This was a very good match. Lots of back and forth action here. Both AJ Styles and Kurt Angle scored several near falls throughout the bout. Angle was able to apply the Ankle Lock on Styles, who was about to tap when the bell rang and the ring announcer declared it a 20 minute time limit draw.

After the match, Sting came out and tried to approach AJ Styles, who just pushed him away.

Following a commercial break, Mike Tenay and Taz recapped the match between AJ Styles and Kurt Angle. They then previewed Bound For Glory.

The Abyss vs. Mick Foley video package was up next. Abyss and Foley put each other over here and hyped their Monsters Ball match.

They played a package for Matt Morgan vs. Kurt Angle, which consisted of comments from both competitors, as well as Mike Tenay and Dixie Carter. Morgan put over Angle, but said that he was willing to do whatever it takes to win at Bound For Glory.
