Impact: Elite Mafia meltdown
By CHRIS & BRYAN SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

Last week on Impact, Bound for Glory began to take shape, with several big matches being announced and big swerves taking place. This week on Impact a big six man tag team match takes center stage, as Bobby Lashley joins forces with Team 3D to do battle with Rhino and The British Invasion. Plus Hernandez takes on Mafia leader Kurt Angle, and The Beautiful People reveal their newest member.

The Impact opener aired to kick off the show, followed by the usual intro from Mike Tenay and Taz.

"The Monster" Abyss made his way into the Impact Zone with a bandage over his head, as footage was shown of Mick Foley's attack on him from last week. Abyss grabbed the mic and said that he couldn't compete tonight, but said that he wanted to know why Foley attacked him. This brought out Foley, who was carrying a barbed wire baseball bat. Foley asked Abyss if he really owed him an explanation. Abyss brought up the fact that he saved Foley from Kevin Nash and that the whole picture thing was just an accident. Foley told Abyss that he never needed his help and that it was Abyss' fault he didn't recapture the TNA Legends Championship. Foley ran down his resume and berated "The Monster." Abyss told Foley that he was an inspiration to him and was someone he truly admired. He also showed off the scar on his head from the attack. Foley said he brought Abyss a peace offering and gave him a copy of the Tweet N' Tweak picture. Foley told him it was a cheap rip off, just like him. Foley continued his verbal assault and eventually whacked Abyss over the head with the picture, before taking off with his security team. Abyss followed in hot pursuit and wiped out Foley's security, chokeslamming one of them on the stage en route to the back.

Backstage, Lauren did her best to try and calm Abyss down, but to no avail, as he took off to search for Foley, leaving Lauren to follow behind.

Match One - Five Way TNA X Division Number One Contender Ladder Match - The Amazing Red vs. Sheik Abdul Bashir vs. Kiyoshi vs. Consequences Creed vs. Jay Lethal

During the match, clips were shown of Abyss going nuts backstage. This was pretty much a cluster, with each guy getting something in. Amazing Red hit a hurricanrana at the end of the match that made Consequences Creed throw up all over himself. Yes, he threw up in the ring. Having taken the rest of the competitors out of the match, Red was able to climb the ladder and retrieve the contract for the win.

Winner Via Climbing the Ladder and Getting the Contract and NEW Number One Contender to the TNA X Division Championship - The Amazing Red

Post match, Jeremy Borash interviewed The Amazing Red at ringside. Jay Lethal interrupted and said he was robbed, as Consequences Creed got in between them.

Abyss was shown still looking for Mick Foley backstage.

Jeremy Borash hyped the TNA texting service, before speaking with Dr. Stevie Richards and Daffney. Richards complained about Kevin Nash taking his $50,000 and promised to get some revenge, as Daffney coached him along.

Match Two - Dr. Stevie Richards w/ Daffney vs. Kevin Nash

Daffney distracted Kevin Nash early on, allowing Dr. Stevie to go on the attack, however, Nash was able to fight back and avoid a police baton shot, catching Stevie with a big boot. Nash followed that up with a Jacknife powerbomb and a one foot cover for the pin.

Winner Via Pinfall - Kevin Nash

Eric Young was shown walking backstage with The World Elite, who causing destruction along the way. Young said that Kurt Angle owed him an apology.

Christy Hemme and Traci Brooks were shown making their way into the Impact Zone for a "Battle of the Playboy Models."

Backstage, The World Elite and The Main Event Mafia argued. Eric Young demanded an apology and told Kurt Angle that he was going to show him how he would have handled Matt Morgan from the beginning. The two groups shot remarks back and forth and eventually had to be pulled apart.

A pre-taped Mike Tenay interview with Sting and AJ Styles was hyped, as Tenay pitched it backstage, where Abyss was still hunting for Mick Foley. Foley found him and clobbered him with the barbed wire baseball bat. Security quickly ran in and separated the two.

The pre-taped interview with AJ Styles and Sting was shown. Styles asked Sting during the interview if he passed the torch of if he just didn't want it anymore. Sting just sat there in response, as Styles told him that he loved him and walked away.

Tara along with Poison walked to ringside and joined Mike Tenay and Taz on commentary.

Match Four - TNA Knockouts Championship Match - Awesome Kong w/ Riesha Saeed vs. ODB (C)

Awesome Kong got in plenty of offense on ODB and looked to have things well at hand, while on the outside of the ring, Riesha Saeed got into it with Tara, leading to Tara going after her. Kong grabbed Tara, only to get hung up on the ropes and school-girled from behind, allowing ODB to retain her title.

Winner Via Pinfall and STILL TNA Knockouts Champion - ODB

After the match, Tara and ODB got into a shoving contest, which led to Awesome Kong returning to the ring and hitting them both with Implant Busters.

Kurt Angle was shown getting ready for his match with Hernandez.

Match Five - Kurt Angle vs. Hernandez

This was a pretty good match, where Hernandez displayed his overall power and really tossed Kurt Angle around at some points. The match made its way from the ring to the floor, where both men were counted out.

Winner - Double Countout

The World Elite ran in and beat on both competitors. They brought them backstage and continued the attack, until the rest of the Main Event Mafia, followed by security, came to the rescue.

So Cal Val spoke to The Motor City Machine Guns, who admitted that they have terrible entrance music. They said that on next week's Impact, they will debut their new music and new video.

The Beautiful People (Madison Rayne and Velvet Sky) came to the ring and said that they wanted to show their true colors. They said that they did a lot of terrible things because they were under the guidance of Angelina Love. They called out Sarita and Taylor Wilde and said that they wanted to apologize for their actions. Velvet Sky went on to say that they just wanted to have a competitive match at Bound for Glory. The two teams shook hands, until The Beautiful People attacked. Sarita and Taylor Wilde wound up on top, as Lacey Von Erich made her debut and put them down, locking in the Von Erich Claw. Von Erich stood tall as part of the newly formed Beautiful People.

Backstage, Matt Morgan talked about how he doesn't care what goes on between The Main Event Mafia and The World Elite. He said that all he was focused on was his match with Eric Young and hurting him.

Don West hyped TNA's upcoming events, including the Bound for Glory pay-per-view.

So Cal Val caught up with the new Beautiful People, who put over Lacey Von Erich as wrestling royalty. Von Erich promised to cleanse TNA of its ugly people one at a time.

Match Six - Eric Young vs. Matt Morgan

Eric Young got on Matt Morgan and was holding his own, until a "fan" dressed as Abyss hit Morgan with a steel chair causing the disqualification. That "fan" was revealed to be Kurt Angle.

Winner Via Disqualification - Matt Morgan

The World Elite and The Main Event Mafia came out and a brawl ensued. TNA even interrupted the commercial break to say that the brawl was still going on.

Bobby Lashley and Team 3D got together backstage and talked about their match with Rhino and The British Invasion. Lashley even threw in the "Testify."

Beer Money Inc. came out and joined Mike Tenay and Taz on commentary for the main event.

Match Seven - Six Man Tag Team Match - Rhino & The British Invasion (Brutus Magnus and Doug Williams) w/ Big Rob Terry vs. Bobby Lashley & Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon)

Rhino and The British Invasion took a bit of beating early on, but were able to isolate Brother Devon from his partners and go on the attack. Eventually Devon made the hot tag to Bobby Lashley who proceeded to clean house and lock in the Dragon Sleeper on Doug Williams to get the submission win.

Winners Via Submission - Bobby Lashley & Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon)

After the match, Team 3D celebrated with Beer Money Inc, drinking some beers on their way backstage, as Bobby Lashley slapped hands with all the fans at ringside. As Lashley was making his way up the ramp, he was attacked from behind by Samoa Joe, who took him down and locked in the rear naked choke, closing out this edition of Impact.
