Impact: Angle steps ahead of Morgan
By CHRIS & BRYAN SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

It's the "go home show" this week on Impact, as TNA will be presenting No Surrender this Sunday night on pay-per-view. On tap for this week's episode, Mafia member, Samoa Joe goes to war with Matt Morgan, Cody Deaner takes on Alissa Flash in a Lumberjack match, D'Angelo Dinero seeks to settle his score with Suicide and the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Title Tournament Final brackets are decided.

The show began with a recap of what's been going on with LAX and The World Elite.

Mick Foley, along with his kids and Kevin Nash were shown arriving at the Impact Zone.

The Impact opener played, followed by a welcome from Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin who were sitting at their announce table. They then sent it over to Mike Tenay and Taz.

Match One - TNA Knockouts Tag Team Title Tournament Semi-Finals Match - The Beautiful People (Angelina Love and Velvet Sky) vs. Christy Hemme and Tara

Christy Hemme looked to have the match won when she hit the FFG on Velvet Sky, but Angelina Love made the save. Madison Rayne came out and attempted to spray Sky with the hairspray, but wound up catching Hemme, allowing Sky to roll her up and get the win for The Beautiful People.

Winners Via Pinfall - The Beautiful People (Angelina Love and Velvet Sky)

After the match, Madison Rayne showed off a paper bag with her face on it and revealed "I'm Sorry" written on the back. Despite Velvet Sky being hesitant to do so, Angelina Love accepted her apology. TNA should breath a sigh of relief that this went through, considering Love is now released and her spot in the TNA Knockouts Tag Title match is up for grabs.

Lauren spoke to D'Angelo Dinero, who said he was ready for Suicide.

Suicide was shown walking through the backstage area.

A Bound For Glory commercial played.

Match Two - "The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero vs. Suicide

This was a good match with a good build to it. Suicide put up a fight, but in the end, D'Angelo Dinero got his hand raised for the victory following the DDE.

Winner Via Pinfall - "The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero

Mike Tenay and Taz ran down the card for the rest of Impact.

Rhino was shown walking backstage.

Lauren caught up with Eric Young and the rest of The World Elite. Young talked about Hernandez being selfish and said that he wasn't going to fight him as scheduled at No Surrender. Homicide chimed in and backed Young up on what he said.

Footage of Rhino attacking Jesse Neal was shown.

Rhino stood in the ring and went on a rant about TNA not giving him the right push and saying that Jesse Neal embarrassed him. He turned his attention to Dixie Carter and asked when she called him last. He then addressed Bobby Lashley and talked about their match coming up at No Surrender. Brother Devon came out and called Rhino out on his complaining. He talked about how Team 3D took him under their wing and said he needs to get back on track to put TNA at the top. Devon said Brother Ray was upset so he stayed in the back, but he offered his hand and told him to do the right thing. Rhino shook hands, but then attacked, until Ray ran out and made the save.

Footage of Homicide turning on Hernandez and joining World Elite was shown.

Match Three - Handicap Match - Sheik Abdul Bashir and Kiyoshi vs. Hernandez

Hernandez came out with his Feast or Fired briefcase and just went on the attack, picking up the win over The World Elite members.

Winner Via Pinfall - Hernandez

After the match, Homicide attacked Hernandez along with Eric Young and the two beat him with a steel chair and his own Feast or Fired briefcase.

Lauren talked with ODB, who promised to win the TNA "Knocked Up" title at No Surrender.

Match Four - Lumberjack Match - Alissa Flash vs. Cody Deaner

All of the TNA Knockouts were on the floor for this. Cody Deaner took a beating on the outside and was rolled in, giving Alissa Flash and easy opportunity to get the pin.

Winner Via Pinfall - Alissa Flash

After the match, Awesome Kong and Tara went at it, while ODB whacked Cody Deaner with her flask.

Lauren was with Kevin Nash backstage, as he talked about his open casting call for a new valet. A few girls came in with portfolios for Nash to look at, as he kicked back and enjoyed himself.

Mick Foley vowed to take back over TNA by regaining the TNA Legends Championship from Kevin Nash.

Match Five - TNA Legends Championship Match - Mick Foley vs. Kevin Nash (C)

Kevin Nash was all over Mick Foley in this match, leading to Abyss walking out with a barbed wire baseball bat and chasing him off. The referee called for the bell and disqualification, leading to argument of sorts between Foley and Abyss.

Match Six - Brutus Magnus and Scott Steiner w/ Doug Williams, Rob Terry and Booker T vs. Brother Ray and Robert Roode w/ Brother Devon and James Storm

This match eventually turned into an all out brawl. Brutus Magnus was able to whack Brother Ray with one of the IWGP Tag Team Titles, allowing Scott Steiner to roll on top of him and get the pinfall.

Sarita and Taylor Wilde were shown backstage.

A package was shown of Dixie Carter and TNA working with Kyle Vanden Bosch of the Tennessee Titans and the Boys and Girls Club.

Match Seven - TNA Knockouts Tag Team Title Tournament Semi-Final Match - Awesome Kong and Riesha Saeed vs. Taylor Wilde and Sarita

A package was shown highlighting the history between Kurt Angle and Matt Morgan.

Kurt Angle entered the Impact Zone, joining Mike Tenay and Taz on commentary for the main event.

Match Eight - Samoa Joe vs. Matt Morgan

Samoa Joe looked for approval from Kurt Angle during the match, as he beat on Matt Morgan. Morgan was able to rally back and leveled Joe with a Carbon Footprint, sending him to the floor. Morgan followed him and Joe tossed him to the announce table, where Kurt Angle got involved, forcing the disqualification.

Winner Via Disqualification - Matt Morgan

After the match, Kurt Angle and Matt Morgan continued to brawl, as Daniels ran in to attack Samoa Joe. Following a commercial break, Angle and Morgan were still fighting, as referees and security got involved. Angle eventually caught Morgan with the Angle Slam and put him through the announce table, giving Angle the edge going into his big TNA Heavyweight Title pay-per-view match-up.
