Impact: Dixie's debut
By CHRIS & BRYAN SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

Last week on Impact, AJ Styles announced that he was ready to hang it up, until a passionate intervention from Sting changed his mind. This week, Styles and Sting join forces with Hernandez to take on Matt Morgan, Booker T and Scott Steiner. Mafia member, Samoa Joe will also see action, as he takes on Suicide. Plus, the Impact debuts of Hamada and Dixie Carter.

The show began with a recap of the history between Kurt Angle and Matt Morgan. The TNA Knockouts Tag Team Title Tournament was also hyped, along with the Impact debut of Dixie Carter.

AJ Styles and Sting were shown arriving at the Impact Zone. Lauren approached Styles and asked if he was still retiring. Styles said that he brought his gear and was ready to work. Sting told Lauren that TNA was about to grow up. Kip James came in and asked to park Sting's car, but Sting declined. James told Lauren that he used to have a car like that when he was over.

The Impact opener aired, followed by the usual hype from Mike Tenay and Taz. Daniels joined them at the commentary table to scout the TNA X Division Champion, Samoa Joe.

Match One - Samoa Joe vs. Suicide

"The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero came out and got involved in this one, causing a no contest. A tag team match was made for later in the broadcast pitting Samoa Joe and D'Angelo Dinero vs. Suicide and Daniels.

Winner - No Contest

Lauren spoke to Eric Young backstage, who guaranteed that Hernandez would be joining The World Elite.

TNA announced that they set a ratings record in the United Kingdom for the month of August 2009.

The World Elite entered the Impact Zone, with Sheik Abdul Bashir ranting about the war in Iraq. Eric Young took the mic and called out Hernandez, who hit the ring and was ready to hear what Young had to say. Young told Hernandez that he would never be viewed as an equal by the American fans, so he wanted him to come home and join The World Elite. Hernandez shot down the offer and said that this was his country too and told Young to basically "love it or leave it."

Lauren caught up with Traci Brooks and Sharmell, who called Awesome Kong and Riesha Saeed an "elephant and her trainer." Kond and Saeed were shown walking backstage on their way to the ring.

Lauren talked about the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Title Tournament, when the Motor City Machine Guns stepped in. Dr. Stevie walked by and approached them about taking out the $50,000 bounty on Abyss.

Match Two - TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship Tournament First Round Match - Traci Brooks and Sharmell vs. Awesome Kong and Riesha Saeed

This was a back and forth match, with Traci Brooks getting in some offense, until Awesome Kong entered the ring and dominated. Kong had things well at hand, when Riesha Saeed tagged herself in and covered Brooks for the pin.

Winners Via Pinfall - Awesome Kong and Riesha Saeed

After the match, Awesome Kong stared at Riesha Saeed.

A package was shown on Matt Morgan, followed by clips from last week's Morgan and Angle vs. Team 3D Tag Team Tables match.

Matt Morgan entered the Main Event Mafia locker room, where Kurt Angle admitted that he messed up last week. Angle also said that Morgan lacked experience. Morgan said that there will be a Four Way TNA Heavyweight Championship match at No Surrender and that Morgan is one of the challengers. Morgan promised to have Angle's back like Angle had his. Morgan hugged Angle and exited.

Mike Tenay announced that The Source magazine did an article on Homicide.

A package was shown highlighting the history between Rhino and Jesse Neal.

Match Three - Rhino vs. Jesse Neal

Rhino absolutely overpowered Jesse Neal in this match, hitting him with a spinebuster to pick up the victory.

Rhino continued his beatdown on Jesse Neal, until Brother Devon made the save.

In his office, Mick Foley was shown wearing a judge wig, as he was about to announce his decision on the TNA Knockouts Championship situation. Abyss showed up and Foley gave him some groceries. Foley also told him to go easy on Alex Shelley because his kids love him. Cody Deaner and ODB argued over the Knockouts Championship, until Foley announced that they would wrestle each other for the belt at No Surrender.

Abyss was shown walking to the ring.

Match Four - $50,000 Bounty Handicap Match - Abyss vs. The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) w/ Dr. Stevie

The Motor City Machine Guns attempted to collect the bounty, but Abyss proved to be too much for them. Dr. Stevie tried to interfere, but Abyss caught Chris Sabin mid-springboard and hit him with the Black Hole Slam for the pin.

After the match, The Motor City Machine Guns attacked Dr. Stevie, as Abyss entered the ring with a steel chair. Kevin Nash came out and talked about how he wanted to collect the $50,000 bounty. Nash said that Abyss stuck his nose in his business and he was prepared to take him out. Dr. Stevie cackled away as Nash headed to the backstage area.

Mike Tenay and Taz hyped the rest of Impact.

Match Five - No DQ Knockouts Match - Daffney vs. Hamada

The Beautiful People were shown looking for Madison Rayne. When they found her, it was mentioned that Rayne had a mystery partner for the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Title tournament. Rayne went to attack them, but they fought her off.

Mike Tenay and Taz hyped the rest of the episode and the upcoming live events.

Match Six - Samoa Joe and D'Angelo Dinero vs. Daniels and Suicide

Jeremy Borash did a sitdown interview with Dixie Carter and Bobby Lashley. Carter announced that TNA signed a new three year deal with Spike TV. Lashley talked about wanting to be the best in both TNA and MMA. Carter said that she was supporting him and wanted to see titles on both his shoulders. Carter went on to say that at No Surrender Lashley will take on Rhino.

Kurt Angle joined Mike Tenay and Taz on commentary for the main event six man tag team match. Angle talked about how Matt Morgan still had a lot to prove to the Mafia.

Match Seven - Six Man Tag Team Match - Matt Morgan, Booker T and Scott Steiner vs. Sting, Hernandez and AJ Styles

This was a good back and forth match. Hernandez and Matt Morgan went at it, with Hernandez looking very impressive. The match turned into a brawl, as AJ Styles and Scott Steiner fought to the floor. Morgan went for the Hellevator on Hernandez, as Steiner entered the ring with a steel chair. They confused each other long enough for Hernandez to gather his bearings and shove Morgan into the chair, allowing Styles to hit a springboard forearm on him for the pin.

Winners Via Pinfall - Sting, Hernandez and AJ Styles

After the match, Kurt Angle told Matt Morgan he could still join the Main Event Mafia if he learned to be a team player. This led to Morgan beating up Booker T and Scott Steiner, as Angle looked on, rounding out another episode of Impact.
