Sarge takes aim at Canada
By TIM BAINES - Ottawa Sun

Sgt. Slaughter, whose character once turned his back on the U.S. in a ridiculous stint as an Iraqi sympathizer, thumbed his nose at Canada as RAW's guest host in Calgary.

Slaughter (real name, Robert Remus) came up with a little chin music on the microphone: "If it wasn't for Uncle Sam, you'd all be speaking Russian or French right now," he chirped to the Canadian fans. Hey Sarge, as Colonel Klink said with so much more effect: "Dismissed!"

SHAWN'S A CHEF?

So, let me get this straight. Shawn Michaels was so stressed out after Wrestlemania, he became a chef (the RAW skit was filmed at WWE's cafeteria in Stamford, Conn., according to PWTorch.com)? Gotta admit, I chuckled when his boss referred to him as "Hickenbottom." HBK's real name, of course, is Michael Hickenbottom. The schtick ended with a couple of superkicks -- to the boss and to a whiny kid -- and a promised return of DX to face The Legacy at Summer Slam.

AROUND THE RING

Alberta fans (crowds were great in both Calgary and Edmonton) erupted with chants of "Y2J ... Y2J!" for the heelish Chris Jericho. Canadian wrestlers really do rock ... Freddie Prinze Jr. will host RAW Monday ... Hulk Hogan turned 56 Tuesday ... The Miz was back on RAW, wearing a mask as The Calgary Kid while beating Eugene in a Contract on a Pole match.
