Impact: Morgan serves the Mafia Hard Justice
By CHRIS & BRYAN SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

It's the hard sell to Hard Justice tonight on Impact! In this evening's main event, it is the third and final match in the Best of Three Series between AJ Styles and Matt Morgan to determine the third competitor in Sunday's Three Way Heavyweight Title match. Plus it's Knockouts galore, as Awesome Kong, ODB, Angelina Love and Tara do battle in a Four Way match, while Christy Hemme returns to the ring against Sojo Bolt. All this and the usual antics of the Main Event Mafia on this edition of Impact!

|

The show began with a recap of last week's wild brawl.

The TNA Impact opener aired, followed by the usual intro from Mike Tenay and Don West.

Match One - Christy Hemme vs. Sojo Bolt

Christy Hemme got a good response for her return to action. The fiery Knockout hit was able to execute the FFG on Sojo Bolt and pick up the win.

Winner Via Pinfall - Christy Hemme

Mike Tenay and Don West hyped the rest of the show, as AJ Styles and Matt Morgan were shown arriving to the Impact Zone.

Lauren spoke to Taz and asked him about Hernandez beating Samoa Joe last week. Taz explained to her that Hernandez didn't beat Joe, Joe beat Joe. Taz said that at Hard Justice he is going to do something positive and take out "The Notorious 187" Homicide.

Match Two - Doug Williams w/ Brutus Magnus and Rob Terry vs. Hernandez

This was a good back and forth match, that saw Hernandez get the pin after hitting Doug Williams with a sit out powerbomb.

Winner Via Pinfall - Hernandez

After the match, Brutus Magnus and Rob Terry beat on Hernandez, with Terry using the Feast or Fired briefcase to whack Hernandez. The big man was able to get back to his feet and chase off The British Invasion.

Backstage, Hernandez cut an angry promo in Spanish. He's getting a good push, which is well deserved.

Mike Tenay conducted a sit down interview with Bobby Lashley, where he talked about doing wrestling and MMA at the same time. Tenay asked him who would win a fight between the greatest fighter in the world and the greatest wrestler in the world. Lashley said that would remain to be seen. Hyping the almost certain Lashley vs. Kurt Angle bout at Bound For Glory?

Jeremy Borash was talking to Dr. Stevie in the backstage area when Abyss attacked. Abyss told Stevie to take him out, as Jethro Holliday jumped him from behind with a steel chair and began putting the boots to him.

Lauren spoke to Tara, who talked about winning the Four Way Knockouts Match. She focused a majority of her time on Awesome Kong. Some great matches they can have.

Match Three - Eric Young and Sheik Abdul Bashir w/ Kiyoshi vs. Rhino and Jesse Neal

Rhino had things going well until he tagged Jesse Neal into the match. Neal took a beating, but was able to take down Eric Young. Rather than making the tag right there, Neal attacked Sheik Abdul Bashir on the apron and got rolled up by Young in the process.

Winners Via Pinfall - Eric Young and Sheik Abdul Bashir

After the match, Jesse Neal apologized to Rhino, only to get slapped and hit with the Gore.

The AJ Styles vs. Matt Morgan match was hyped. Sting was shown as being in Styles' corner, while Angle was shown in Morgan's corner.

Lauren caught up with Rhino backstage, who said that Jesse Neal has made mistake after mistake. Rhino questioned if Neal was ready to step up and fight.

Match Four - Four Way Knockouts Match - Awesome Kong w/ Riesha Saeed vs. ODB w/ Cody Deaner vs. Tara vs. Angelina Love w/ Velvet Sky and Madison Rayne

This was a really good Knockouts match that showcased four of the top women in the division. The end came when Cody Deaner got involved and kissed Awesome Kong. Kong brought him into the ring and hit him with an Awesome Bomb. This allowed Tara to get behind her and roll her up to get the victory.

Winner Via Pinfall - Tara

Lauren talked to AJ Styles and Sting in the backstage area. Sting talked about the pressure AJ Styles was under, while Styles simply said that at the end of the night, he would be a winner or a loser.

Jeremy Borash interviewed Team 3D. Brother Ray talked about how Harlem Heat and The Steiner Brothers were two of the best tag teams going, but Team 3D is the best. Ray said that at Hard Justice, they are going to reclaim their TNA Tag Team titles. Scott Steiner and Booker T came in and did their bit of trash talking prior to Steiner's No DQ match wtih Ray, but Team 3D dismissed them, saying that they were household names, just like garbage and that they stunk too.

Match Five - No DQ Match - Scott Steiner w/ Booker T vs. Brother Ray w/ Brother Devon

Sharmell and The British Invasion got involved in this match, as Brother Ray was put through a table, giving Scott Steiner the win, and the edge going into Hard Justice.

Winner Via Pinfall - Scott Steiner

The Mick Foley vs. Kevin Nash contract signing was hyped.

Following a commercial break, Mike Tenay was shown in the ring with Mick Foley and Kevin Nash. Foley talked about his kids being in attendance and flashed his TNA Legends Championship belt around. When Nash grabbed the mic, he complained about how not having that belt cost him $20,000 at an autograph signing. Nash went on and on, saying that he was and athlete and businessman, while Foley was just a pathetic wrestler. Foley said that he is proud to be a wrestler and wished Nash luck in their match. Nash told Foley that he would be needing the luck. Foley told Nash to leave before one of them went through the contract table. Nash said that he didn't get paid extra to go through it or put Foley through it so he was leaving. Foley said he'd go through the table for free and proceeded to put himself through it as Nash looked on.

Mike Tenay and Don West hyped the card for Hard Justice.

A video package was shown to hype the Steel Asylum match to determine a new number one contender to the TNA X Division Championship.

Lauren spoke with Matt Morgan backstage, who said he felt no pressure and was guaranteeing victory later on.

A package was shown highlighting the first two matches in the AJ Styles vs. Matt Morgan Best of Three Series.

AJ Styles, Sting, Matt Morgan and Kurt Angle made their entrances into the Impact Zone and the main event was on.

Match Six - Third Match in the Best of Three Series to determine the third competitor in the Three Way TNA Heavyweight Championship Match at Hard Justice - AJ Styles w/ Sting vs. Matt Morgan w/ Kurt Angle

This was another good match between these two competitors. Don West talked about how Kurt Angle said that a Matt Morgan win here would gain him entrance into the Main Event Mafia. After a missed springboard attempt by Styles, Morgan hit a huge bicycle kick and got the win, earning his spot in the Three Way TNA Heavyweight Championship match at Hard Justice.

Winner Via Pinfall and NEW Number One Contender to the TNA Heavyweight Championship - Matt Morgan - Morgan - 2 ::: Styles - 1

After the match, The Main Event Mafia came to the ring to celebrate with Matt Morgan, as Sting helped AJ Styles to the backstage area. Kurt Angle grabbed the mic and congratulated Morgan on his win. He told Morgan that he was just one favor away from gaining his entrance into the Mafia. Morgan told him that he better not ask him to help him retain the belt at Hard Justice. Angle said that he wasn't going to ask him, he was going to demand it be done. Morgan said that he doesn't take orders and that he is going to leave Hard Justice the new TNA Heavyweight Champion.
