Samoa Joe now a Mafia man
By TIM BAINES - Ottawa Sun

It was a week of betrayal, title changes, real-life death and a bit of weirdness.

Samoa Joe has abandoned his "nation of violence" crusade and sided with the Main Event Mafia, a key storyline development for TNA.

Joe is a major star who needs a major push. Maybe this pushes him to the next level again.

TNA also had a couple of title changes. Tara (formerly Victoria in WWE) won the Knockouts title from Angelina Love, while the returning Homicide has won the X Division strap from Suicide. Homicide is a guy I'd like to see get a bigger role. There's no question he's got plenty of talent.

Billy Red Lyons dead

Billy Red Lyons, a Southern Ontario star in the 1970s, died at age 77 after a battle with cancer. He had successful tag-team partnerships with Red Bastien and later with Dewey Robertson (as the Crusaders). As a TV announcer on Maple Leaf Wrestling, the affable Lyons (William Snip) became known for his catchphrase -- "Dontcha dare miss it."

Donald done?

OK, so the Donald Trump ownership of RAW angle is already finished. Trump sold RAW back to Vince McMahon for "double" what he paid for it. This was after Trump gave fans on hand for Monday's RAW in Green Bay a refund. Now WWE says we may not have seen the last of Trump? Please, let the angle end. And give Ric Flair a speaking role on a regular basis. The guy was born to talk. Wooooo!

Around the ring

B. Brian Blair, who teamed with Jumping Jim Brunzell to form the successful Killer Bees tag team in the 1980s, was arrested Sunday. He was charged with punching his two sons, ages 17 and 12. Blair resides in Florida where he is Hillsborough County commissioner. Upon his release from jail, Blair said the incident was a "misunderstanding." ... Stand back, there's a Hurricane coming. Great to see Gregory Helms back as The Hurricane ... It looks like Rey Mysterio, who was giving serious thought to leaving WWE, might be sticking around.
